When creating a presentation, is it possible to have cells that are visible in working mode but are not displayed in the presentation mode?

We have a recent question with the title "Bandpassing EEG's using Mathematica's Bandpass Function". I was tempted to change it to "Filtering EEG's using Mathematica's Bandpass Function" since "Bandpassing" is not a real English word. But I decided to let it be and let people do a little filtering on it themselves: str = "Bandpassing EEG's using Mathematica's Bandpass Function"; StringReplace[str, {"nd" -> "d", "p" -> ""}] ;-)

@belisarius hey

@VitaliyKaurov Hi there!
enjoying your Sunday? :)

@xslittlegrass hi!
@VitaliyKaurov I am looking for the best way to give a few classes of Mma programing in my kid's school. Licensing and all that. Do you have any suggestions?

@belisarius are you familiar with librarylink?

@xslittlegrass Nope

9:42 PM
@belisarius will you be the lecturer ?

@VitaliyKaurov That's a strong word. I prefer "guide" :)
yep

How old r the kids?

@VitaliyKaurov 15 - 16 yo

u want a hands on class and want to get M. on there computers?

@belisarius OK, I was wondering about the automatic generation of librarylink wrapper. Anyway, I will ask Szabolcs later, he seems to have used librarylink a lot.

9:47 PM
@VitaliyKaurov Right now I'm mostly concerned about how to get Mma on their laptops for a few months without making them pay a lot.

Generally I would recommend to become a certified instructor:
http://www.wolfram.com/training/instructors
they have more freedom. But even now I would contact training:
http://www.wolfram.com/training/contact-us
they may have some solutions for you.
@belisarius

@VitaliyKaurov Great! I'll explore both options! Thanks a lot
@VitaliyKaurov mmm the link about "certified instructors" lists only their names, not the reqs for becoming one :(

10:03 PM
Is this something that can be resolved with a setting? I am trying to pull a large SQL table. At first I got Java heap error, reinstalled with bigger Xmx and now I get JDBC::error: GC overhead limit exceeded >>

10:15 PM
@belisarius it is the same form

@mfvonh that's very impressive (the JD/MBA part, especially if you had your tuition covered). didn't realize Northwestern could be snobbish. what was your major in college?

11:13 PM
@seismatica Math/econ. I just got lucky in terms of the money. I specialized in econometric analysis of competition policy issues which is an area the law school (which is basically married to the business school) is interested in becoming stronger in
One encounters douchiness at all these top law schools. Northwestern is just very corporate and relatively anti-intellectual in my opinion
A higher percentage of our class goes into big law than any other school

There is a fad on Facebook right now of pouring ice water on your head and then telling three other people to do the same the next day to raise awareness for ALS. I've let my mind atrophy to the point of forgetting closed forms for the sum of a power series and the world population to more than one significant figure, so I'm pretty happy with the syntax for Mathematica to tell me the number of days for the whole world to theoretically participate.
Solve[Quantity[Sum[3^n, {n, 0, days}], "people"] ==
  CountryData["World", "Population"], days]
I used Ctrl+= as a shortcut to get the world population syntax. I just had to go back and add the Quantity[..., "people"] on the Sum. Pretty straight forward though.

@seismatica One other thing, in case you are thinking of applying, is that if you get a money offer from one school you can definitely play them off each other
Off to see Robyn. Ciao
