Good morning. That's great we have a gardening topic here now. I've just returned from the island south of Tokyo - was planting stuff there around the house. This time it was chilli peppers, monstera and a plant I have no idea what is it, but it is pretty.
@Rilakkuma hello! Interesting article I read just after the above chat that you might enjoy (it's about Australia specifically but applies more generally): theconversation.com/…
Our lawn is a bit odd looking because I carefully mow around the clover, and the chickens like to dig up the grass but leave the broad-leaf weeds (if only it was the other way round!)
@Criggie I think I will spread more clover seed around the garden and lawn, and try to modify the mower so it can mow 10cm off the ground instead of 5cm at most. That way more of the interesting stuff will survive.
@Criggie they actually make really good spike tools for that. But given the number and small size of them I am looking for a spray. The tap roots are usually only 5-10 cm long and 1cm diameter, and the leaves ~10cm diameter, but there are lots and lots of them. Neighbour "farms" the things so we get a lot of seed. Or just over-planting with something better.
I see somewhat of a problem when it comes to replying to comments. When comments are posted that include multiple users, shouldn't all of those users be notified?
The only alternative would be to include those users in separate comments which would end up getting messy really quick.

I thoroughly encourage use of 'Merika and 'Merikan as opposed to Merica and Merican to help people distinguish between (insert slang reference for genitals) and genital coverings.
