Ive used look pedals without look shoes. its uncomfortable, but not too bad if your feet are decent sized and your shoes are sufficiently rigid (US 13 is useful for once)

yeah - but one's feet slide around a lot more. I knocked my cadence sensor off the chainstay with a misplaced heel

@Criggie I have SPD shoes that will pass for dress shoes in most places. I've worn them to the opera without raising an eyebrow, as well as job interviews and stuff.
@Criggie my multitool has pliers specifically for that. Unfortunately it also has a blade on it, so verious security theatre places get antsy about it. I would break the blade off except that half the time they don't even check that it has a blade, they just go "looks dangerous, hand it over".

Q: Tags with "speed", as in "7-speed" seem like a bad choice

BlamBlamBlamWe have "7-speed' suggested, which to me says we are likely to get or perhaps should pre-emptively add the matching 18-30ish tags for all the other "N-speeds". The guidance from the proposer specifies that it is specific to cassettes, so I've suggested a description to make that explicit. I have ...

I went fot SPD and SPD-SL cl,eats, depending on how much walking was involved.
But I ditched SL when I was forced to go with Keo pedals
Fior pure riding, I prefer SL/Keo, although I presume it is a matter of taste - I have seen stuff to the contrary on gere
