Opinion based question, but can someone give me thoughts about MTB pedals (like wiggle.co.uk/dmr-v8-flat-pedals) vs "standard" flats (like wiggle.co.uk/mks-sylvan-stream-pedals). This is for commuting but off road, canal toe paths, gravel paths and the like

@GordonCopestake Tow paths? :-)
Maybe @Batman?

towpath where your toes go :)

how many miles?
They're both flat pedals in this case it seems. I dont think it makes a difference in this case all so much, but I'd go with flats with reflectors on them
i dont like clipless for commuting, fwiw. but you don't really need the pins from the mtb pedal.the standard flat you link might be a bit slippery though
I'd go for something like wiggle.co.uk/mks-mt-ft-commuter-pedals
failing that, i'd probably opt for the v8 out of the two you linked

not vast miles, around 50 per week. I find that in the wet the current plastic flats are slippery

so like 5 miles each way?

closer to 8 or 9 but not every day
not much on the roads though so i'm less concerned about reflectors

ok. then try mtb style. road flats are slipperier than plastic flats a lot of the time.

The V8's are worth a punt at £20, I can always go back
If I go for white it goes someway to make up for lack of reflectors I guess

or just buy reflective tape and put it on

good thought

3m scotchlite

That looks good stuff
Thanks for your help @Batman pedals and tape ordered :)
