@JimmyHoffa This is getting extremely tiresome, if you can't be bothered to actually read what I've written and you insist on misquoting me, I'd like you to stop using my name please.

@JimmyHoffa What do you think about this question now? programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/180978/… Does it have any chance of opening. I edited this so if you could please take a look.

@JimmyHoffa: I hope you've known me to be someone with a rather objective view on things. However, I must agree with @YannisRizos. He is not a moderator who quickly deleted closed questions. I've known him to let some closed questions remain open for literally months! So if you'll please - He's actually a decent guy. And if it matters, I hope you stick around and continue posting.

@YannisRizos I stopped misquoting you, you said there are 2 scenarios where a closed question won't = deletion, a dupe or when it's reopened
@YannisRizos I can quit talking about it altogether but that's accurate isn't it?? I don't mean to misquote you..
@JimG. I'm aware closed questions can stick around for a long time, but as you said, months. My objection is simply that if a closed question is to be deleted, according to @YannisRizos, so if people agree it's beneficial they should vote to reopen it to avoid that fate because if it's beneficial now, it will be 2 years from now and it's unlikely to still be here in 2 years if it get's deleted. I realize he's not a deletion machine and I appreciate the positive impact he has around here
I'm not trying to be a d*ck or make @YannisRizos out to be one at all. I hold no grudge, as I've said recently I expect moderators to uphold their responsibilities which he does completely and the deletions are one of them. My main goal lately has been getting people to recognize close voting should be taken more seriously than I think some people take it.
(Not actually @YannisRizos, I really can't think of any of his actions I disagree with, but others seem to think it's just fine and has little effect on the site)

@JimmyHoffa: I completely understand. If it's any consolation to you, you should know that this problem that you describe was far more prevalent before Yannis was a moderator. And... The problem still exists on other Stackexchange sites.

@JimmyHoffa I'll just add one more final thing, as I think this topic is approaching a natural lull or end... Perhaps its better to think of Closed questions not as on the way to deletion, but as questions that need to be edited. (granted all closed questions cannot be edited and saved, but some can). This "Editing" state prevents new answers which could make editing more difficult and allows time to get the question into shape so it can survive.
It's an opportunity. An opportunnity that can be taken or missed. An opportunity for some in the community to earn editing badges.
The act of closing a question can be the first step to saving it.
