As the tile says, I did a fresh install from a USB (LiveRecoveryCD). Now my system boots up with three mounted volumes (499 Mb, 10Gb, 10 Gb). Is this an issue? I did not create them when installing.

Is there a piece of software I can install on my Ubuntu installation (10.04) to stress test all the hardware on my computer? I understand I can download a specific disto to do this, but I would prefer if I can simply download the software and use it on my current installation.
I agree with @Anwar that if they posted a windows solution then it's off-topic; they are not developing something for Ubuntu and it is not about Ubuntu itself
I've heard/read the same, but there is something that feels inaccurate about that description in my opinion, because I am aware of dreaming at the time of dreaming, it's not a memory. I might remember or not, but the awareness is in real time... so when they say we don't remember, I think it must be some kind of attentive part of the brain that is in idle mode... And without that attention, you cannot remember...
I only had it once, and I couldn't really enjoy it because I woke up a little after realizing I was dreaming
I dreamed I was in my old fraternity room, and there was somebody suspicious there, I realized it was a dream when he switched the lights on and they turned on (the real lamps were burned)
but I think I got in a state of paranoia, attacked the guy in the dream and woke up.. no flying for me :/
I've seem websites teaching tricks to have lucid dreams, like constantly checking your hands, but I never managed to "force" one
If I have a lucid dream I realise that I can control the dream and just change it to be how I like
I can't force it either but I think by having a kind of eagerness for your dreams you can encourage it? Like, if you make the effort to remember your dreams, you will remember more of them
@IanC aaahhh ... yes of course ... well I think it is not as good as the first four albums ... though it is much better than many other stuff being released these days. But Ozzy still is one of the greatest singers and performers ...
The thing about music today, is that there are still many great bands. They just aren't as popular as good bands were in the past :/
what I mean is like, there are some innovative bands, with some good songs, lyrics, but they don't get the spotlight like great bands of the past like "Iron Maiden", "Led Zeppelin", "Queen", "Black Sabbath", "Pink Floyd" and so many others had
instead we listen everyday about Nick Minajs or (name Disneys singer/band here) last song
and those bands stay hidden in some underground scene
@IanC you are right ! maybe the difference to older days is that much more bands are releasing their stuff ... in the 70's we were waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... until the new album of our favorites like for instance Led Zep finally came out ...
I've seem a video from VSauce, called "Juvenoia" (which talks about that feeling/fear that the new generation is always getting worse than the last one), which has some good theory on why popular music is getting so crappy today
the video explains it better, but it's something like, pop songs have a goal, of being catchy, sort of repetitive, maybe have a tension peak and end
and with time producers have been finding the formula to doing this kind of songs, patterns that works for such goals, which explains why pop music sounds very similar to each other, with not much innovation
Yes, today everything in the music biz is about making money ... and that FAST ... extremely FAST ... What do you think of Nine Inch Nails (once was an underground act before getting more popular) or Linkin' Park @IanC ? :)
@Zanna true :/ As much as I love Led Zeppelin for example, there are some plagiarism suspicion on some of their songs. "Nobodys fault but mine" for example, was originally written by "Blind Willie Johnson", and though their rewrite is very different from the original not mentioning it kind gives it a bad look..
