I don't see one day anywhere in here "The man left Liberia Sept. 19 and arrived in the USA the next day but had no symptoms when leaving Africa or arriving here, said Thomas Frieden, the CDC director. The patient became sick Sept. 24, and he sought care two days later. He was sent home but returned to a hospital and was admitted Sept. 28. Frieden did not reveal the man's nationality but said he came to the USA to visit relatives."
> The man left Liberia Sept. 19 and arrived in the USA the next day
I should have read that better though, I missed the place where it countered my argument. If it took that long to show symptoms, the incubation period couldn't have been so long.
Dunno, when I had looked it up in preparation to a canceled trip to Angola, that's one of the things I'd read.
@hbdgaf OK, in that case, I was right. If he only had 2 days of being contagious before the symptoms were heavy enough to land him in hospital, that's not a very dangerous bug in terms of spreading.
Compared it to, say, the flu which keeps you asymptomatic and contagious for at least a week.
With a >90% mortality rate, not many victims will survive long enough to be a serious public hazard. That's the irony, it's precisely the most horrible thing about this virus that is also making it less dangerous than it might have been.
@hbdgaf Nope, I'd rather have the flu thank you very much.
first question: I accidentally found this bug on LP: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-packaging-guide/+bug/1313053 Since it doesn't seem to be fixed, is there some extra step I should be aware of that the packaging guide misses for uploading to launchpad?
I have a BeagleBone Black board connected to my laptop with only a serial connection and the Ethernet cable, and powered by the 5mm jack. The serial connection works fine, I can login at any time, but I can't do it over the ethernet connection. Ubuntu 14.04 is running on my laptop.

I am trying to attach the code given for my AskUbuntu flair or the other one, the combined Stack Exchange flair, at the end of my emails just for show-off but it doesn't work. My recipients get the code but no image, anything at all to resemble the fancy images shown on askubuntu.com/users/flair ...

This causes many problems, such as unexplained loss of reputation, lack of knowledge of how to improve a post (which brings down the site's quality), and many other things.

A query about ntpdate command, I have executed the command in one of our server and got these results >> "1 Oct 23:42:52 ntpdate[91690]: no servers can be used, exiting" so it means it is not in sync with the NTP Server??
I have ubuntu installed in my system.
I just installed freeBSD 10.0 in to my system.
Here is the screenshot of GParted.

Sigh
Having a computer than can handle 3/5 tabs in Firefox w.out lagging out is sooooo amazing
@hbdgaf @Seth Question for the far smarter! I'm trying to mount an NTFS partition in the Xubuntu installer. However, it says that it needs the packages ntfsprogs / ntfs-3g
ntfs-3g is already installed, but ntfsprogs isn't available.
Recently I wanted to fix one of my SATA Hard Disks that had a damaged NTFS file system. For this, I referred to this question: Ubuntu 13.04 is unable to mount a disk drive from ex-windows system in which a tool called ntfsprogs is installed in Ubuntu.
As I did not encounter the package ntfsprog...
@RPiAwesomeness go back in windows and look at the disk, check to see if it says "dynamic" do a defragment, and see where the files are on the disk layout, if there are immovable files only at the end of the disk, you can turn off virtural ram to free that up
In Ubunutu 14.04, I want to list the nameservers the machine is using. Normally I would use nm-tool to list them, but it appears NetworkManager doesn't run when no user is logged in via the GUI, and I want to do this in an SSH session.
I can't cat /etc/resolv.conf, since all it provides is names...
Boo on 4 primary partitions... Just save a copy of the partition table before you do anything. Then split the primary partition "for windows". Generally you don't want to mess with system, recovery, and hp tools. if you do, loading in to those partitions can get to be a problem - BIOS is finicky that way sometimes.
