12:00 PM
sorry @Michael - it isn't anything personal. Maybe your guid is too close to @rchern's. I am looking into this, but I have a number of plates spinning...

1 hour later…
1:16 PM
@MarcGravell Hardy har har.

2 hours later…
3:30 PM
Bug report:

@Brant /blame @rchern

@Brant, follow the directions.
Or are you asking for a [feature-request]? (:

@rchern There's a difference?

Heh.
@Brant, really though, are you saying it is a bug that you can't send /blame because it isn't a command? If so, the top note there says to use // to escape commands. Or are you wanting there to be a /blame command added?

just bind it to /me points his finger accusingly in @rchern's general direction or something.

3:38 PM
yeah....no.

Yeah....not with that typo.

No, I just thought there should actually be a /blame command. :)

Ah, then you should add that to Github. (:

Of course if I actually had any motivation beyond making a jokey comment I'd have just coded it myself.

@balpha I found a little bug
When you click leave on a chat room it says "Do you want to leave switch to <RoomName>" on the dialog box
and it's driving me slightly batty

3:44 PM
That was reported like a week ago I think.
Hmm, actually it has been reported several times in chat.SO's feedback room.
Seems deserted over there. (;
in Chat feedback on Stack Overflow Chat, Dec 3 at 23:51, by Joren
The confirmation dialog that shows up when you click the leave button on one of the "other rooms you're in" says "do you want to leave switch to Whatever", which makes little sense.

Now I got logged out randomly on chat.SE. Clearly we need to elevate that to #1 priority now.

Heh.

;)

I haven't ruled out the possibility that it's just @rchern kicking me every time

noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, cover blown!
ABORT

3:58 PM
...
I got logged out while I was typing.

LOL
twasn't me, I swear.
You use Firefox, right?

ARGH
Then I logged back in, and it whined about parsererror when I tried to resubmit my messages.
I was also just logged out, again..
@rchern Yes. :P

One of the first things balpharc (don't remember which) mentioned is that Chrome sometimes decides not to send cookies. So I was just curious if that was an invalid theory. (:

Ah. Yeah, Firefox 3.6, and I have nothing in the way of any sort of blocker going on, and I've never had this problem before to my recollection.

Well it is somewhat comforting that neither @balpha nor @MarcGravell have littered the chat code with if blocks checking for my user id. (;

4:10 PM
Yeah, that was a good theory...but alas.
I seem to get logged out every 5-10 minutes, hrm.

4:22 PM
ouch

I had it too yesterday. Doing nothing fixed it.

Did you get redirected to the rooms listing page?
And then autologin kicked in?
But it didn't put you back in the room, did it?

When it happens, we know who you claim to be - we just don't believe you :) I have some ideas - I'll pay it more love tomorrow (busy on internal stuff today).

@rchern exactly that.
different from what I'd originally experienced, too.

4:40 PM
Well, that isn't really a fix in my eyes. The rooms listing queries periodically for the activity, so that can trigger the global login. So yeah, you may get logged back in, but you still got logged out in the first place.

3 hours later…
8:07 PM
@Tom > You mean to have it show up on that page's homescreen?

@TomWij, you create rooms for the site you associate yourself with.

Yes.

What if you're associated with more than one site?

How to reassociate myself then? Because I don't know what I'm associated with now...

@GnomeSlice Impossible.
@TomWij It's in your own user page

8:08 PM
@badp I'm pretty sure your account can be associated with more than one SE site.
Can't it?

@GnomeSlice Your chat user can only have one parent user. You inherit rep and rights from that one account.

(Wanted to ask this in a more general room, didn't notice the heart by clicking the name too fast.)

12 messages moved from The Bridge

Whoa, whiplash.

Thanks badp, my fault. Good that we can move things. :-)

8:10 PM
@TomWij Click here to change it (use the "parent user" link)

I see it now.
So, after changing it: New rooms will be made in the site from that parent user?
I'll try it. :-)

@TomWij Yep, afaik :)

8:44 PM
@TomWij Mods can also re-site a room

8:58 PM
And room owners, not that it matters

@MichaelMrozek I thought that was changed ...

@CRoss Oh, possibly; I hadn't heard that

It was discussed a while back, it might not have been implemented

9:14 PM
how do I delete a chatroom i've created accidentally created a room associated with gamedev instead of the ai beta

only mods can delete rooms
I'll delete it
done
mods can also change what site a room belongs to, so next time, you can just ask a moderator to change it

ah okay, thanks!

sure -- and congrats on AI beta launch!
make the site awesome :)

thanks!
