@V2Blast Sorry to hear that! I guess that must be it. Stackexchange management is (sort of) all-hyped-up with AI that they are leaving the human element behind. Nevermind :-)

But yeah, chat development hasn't really been touched in quite a while. There's still folks at Stack (including @balpha) who might be familiar with how SE chat works, but they're not currently touching chat. Though Philippe (Director of Community) has mentioned that chat improvements are something he'd like to get some attention/focus on sometime
