Still trying to think of a good face for the boss... you know - I'm thinking I might go with the cliche "You beat the boss - you save someone sort of thing". King Cubetron o:

Q: Are programming-game questions acceptable?

Seth BattinI've been trying out an AI programming game lately. It's not really game development per se, but it is AI programming. It also happens to be a difficult topic to search for, having only the terms "programming" and "game" to go on. I could see it being mostly acceptable to post about it on a lo...

@ToddersLegrande, You around?
I'm trying to wrap my head around ASP.

Just got here
lucky duck

@ToddersLegrande HUGS

In C# I'm used to having a reference to an object, and the lifetime is until the application ends. In ASP, I assume the lifetime is only until the page script is done?

@Blue QUANTUM STATE HUGS (whatever that means)

Which means I should use session variables to store data between pages?

5:46 PM
Umm

Or actually...

It depends

I guess Session can hold any type of object?

within a single page you have the view state

And the object lifetime will be until the session expires?

5:47 PM
I honestly haven't worked with session much since I haven't had the need. But thats my understanding
Is this not persistent data that should be stored in the DB?

It would make sense.
Well, I was thinking specifically stuff that are session related. No point in retrieving username from the DB every time a page loads.
So I should just store the username on the session.

Sure sure
That makes sense to me

But yeah, most things should just live on the DB.

@Blue do you know why there is power called Walk in diablo?

You can toggle walking and running?
I'm guessing they just made it a "power"

you cant do that, but its possible it was possible in some alpha version

Oh I was thinking Diablo 2
Sorry

and i thing theyve combined buffs and skills (into powers) which is interesting although i dont understand what they have in common :)
