I have absolutely last subject at university it is Open Source programming and we have to contribute to some open source in it. I was just thinking what might be interesting. I like slimdx so ... thats it. I dont have any idea for patch. Just thought that i could create more sophisticated sample of compute shader. Great example would be conway's game of life.
It can be connected with graphical pipeline (computing to texture). And can be done in three ways, with global memory, faster with shared memory and most fast using textures. Also it needs synchronizations so propably most about compute shaders...
I dont know if it sounds interesting to you

It does; we don't have a lot of good samples and none of us terribly enjoy writing them

As long as you build the sample with our sample framework as a baseline, I'm pretty sure we'd take it
@Ricket gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/8718/… I think that GDSE is perfect place for shader questions. (doesn't matter that this one is little ... eh. Dont know how to say it and dont be rude :])
@notabene Okay cool. It just seems to me that the question doesn't mention game or game development anywhere within it so it is not specifically game dev related. But nobody flagged it or voted to close and it was quickly answered so it's not hurting anything.
