It's a bit of an exaggeration, but you figure out ways to keep them on task, and it does get better. Eldest is almost 16 and I can pretty much ignore her and she'll ask for help if she needs it.
They tend to reflect the work you put into them, so they are kind of a reflection of you, but with their own quirks and personality.
And when they aren't around it feels weird.
We're starting to make plans for our 20 year anniversary, and on one hand it would be nice to just go by ourselves and have the time alone, but on the other hand the idea of not taking the kids feels lesser
Like we'd be missing out or something
We'll probably end up booking an Alaskan cruise and getting them their own cabin together.
