Q: Name that 1970's Movie

ScarpienSaw a movie as a child about the trials and tribulations of a young boy (5-7years old) who is separated from his father after the plane they were traveling in crashes in a crocodile-infested river in the jungle somewhere in South America, I assume. Unfortunately, many of the surviving passengers ...

hi guys

Hello.

first time actually on chat
for once

Welcome then.

thank-you
So what do you do in this chat room?
Like as in what sort of topics?

1:11 AM
@natural Well, talk. ;-)

:)
I saw how many badges you have and wow

Everything you want to talk about, I guess. Of course since it's the chatroom for Movies & TV, that is the most natural topic to talk about here. But there's no real rule as to what you can talk about here.
@natural Thank you. But I'm also here for quite a long time already. Most of it is just a matter of patience.

Hahaha ok then XD. So how much reputation do you have?
how many others are on this?

@natural It's usually visible right next to the username. ~35,000 in my case.

@NapoleonWilson, least I figured out how to do the @> thing, ah yes I see, thanks.

1:16 AM
@natural Others what? And where? Other users? on the site? About 25,000, but not all of them are active.

@NapoleonWilson wow, 25,000 users?
that's heaps

Well, many users have only asked/answered a single question, or maybe even none at all. And many never came back after doing so. It's just the actual number of distinct user accounts on the site.

Ohhh ok, yeah. I'm still getting the hang of the site and not far from my first Silver badge
Can you follow people on this website?

Not really. It doesn't make too much sense, since this site is more about the actual querstion and answers than the people who post them.
You can favourite individual questions, so you see updates on them.
And you can favourite individual tags, so it highlights those questions in the question list.

Oh yeah I have done plenty of that XD.
around 240 votes

1:22 AM
@natural No, I was talking about favourites.
Votes are for you to judge an evaluate questions, like upvoting good ones and downvoting bad ones.

@natural Welcome!

How do I fabourite individual questions?
Thanks :)

But you can also click on the little star icon. The question will then appear in this list and show whenever there's updates on it.

@NapoleonWilson Ohhh yeah I have done that.

Q: Name that Movie

ScarpienSaw a movie in the 80s or 90s set in Mexico, Central or South America (English subtitles) about a teenage boy--run away or orphan--who is taken in by a young couple with a baby boy. Q: Supernatural Season 11, Episode 15: Why the difference in demon eye color?

ghostdogSo I noticed that the (non-recurring) demon character featured in Supernatural Season 11, Episode 15 ("Beyond the Mat") flashes his "demon" eye color for a moment in the middle of the episode. (To clarify, this is the blonde demon who's manipulating the WWE-type boxer.) But instead of the usual ...

Q: Looking for a movie

AshLooking for a movie in the 90s about a young black reporter in a foreign country who has the eyes of a crime lord with all gold teeth. @natural What kind of sport do you like?
Your profile says that you like sport...

@user22792 Aussie Rules ;)
the game play is awesome

Like...rugby?

Ah no no no, hold on, ill bring the link up...
www.afl.com.au
I'm a crows supporter

Ahhhh...okay. I gotcha :)

1:41 AM
Nice, you know of it?
Aussie Rules?

I do now ;)

It can be a complicated sport depending on how you look at it
I used to play Junior AFL

This...looks quite a bit like rugby, though.

XD
you'll see it is very quite different
ill be back in about half an hour

Well, to be honest, I don't really know how rugby works anyway. ;-)

1:43 AM
@natural Oh, cool!! Do you do any other sports or outdoor activities?

All I know is that it is like American Football without pauses. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson Me neither.
I just know that Russell Crowe plays rugby.

Heh, that John Nicalella film from '91 even has Switek in it!

@NapoleonWilson Oh! I forgot to ask...do we put a character tag when we are asking about an animal in a movie?

Which...apparently is old news anyway. ;-)
Apr 3 '16 at 17:25, by Napoleon Wilson
Heh, that Midnight Heat film from John Nicolella even has the music by Jan Hammer and Switek as barkeeper. It's like a Miami Vice reunion.
@user22792 I don't really know. Maybe it depends on the animal and its significance for the story?

1:51 AM
Like...asking about the scene from The Edge after they kill the bear. If that's actually Bart the Bear "playing dead" or is it a prop? That's my question.
Would I tag it with character or with prop?

@user22792 Oh, maybe not . But I'm not sure about either.
In fact, I don't think it's much of a question to begin with, even if it was about a human. You're not really asking about a character and his traits, rather than how a specific shot or stunt was done.

Do I just tag it with the movie, then?

@user22792 I guess. Maybe ? I don't know.

You're supposed to know this stuff! Why don't you ever know the answers to my questions? ;)

@user22792 Well, I gave you quite a few directions to cosnsider already! :'(

1:57 AM
Uhm...you gave me film techniques, followed with "I don't know" ;)

Hmpf! :'(

Awwww. I'm just playing with you, silly!

I also elaborated on the whole and thing to begin with.
@user22792 I know, don't worry.

I had another question, but I will just try and figure it out myself ;)
@NapoleonWilson Awwww. Of course you did ;)

@NapoleonWilson And a nice sex scene with Michael Paré and Shannon Tweed's sister Tracy.

2:00 AM
@NapoleonWilson Awesome! How do you even know who Shannon Tweed is?

@user22792 Seems common pop-culture knowledge.

Shannon is or was waaaaay hotter than her sister.
@NapoleonWilson Really? Without her relationship with Gene Simmons, I wouldn't think that she was that well known. She did b movies and was. Playboy centerfold before that. Oh, and one of Hefner's girlfriends in the 80's ;)
My husband had her centerfold magazine. He was a real connoisseur when it came to collectibles ;)

@user22792 I remember a Married with Children episode with her, I think.
Anyway, at least it's a name I've heard before and that I had to think about when I read "Tracy Tweed" in the movie's cast list.
And then her Wikipedia page came up when I googled her sister, so that's how I found that out. I thus mentioned her in that message because I thought she's probably the more famous one.

Yeah...her fame is more from having two kids with Gene Simmons ;)

I guess.

2:09 AM
And their totally stupid reality show...
@NapoleonWilson What movie are you watching?

20 mins ago, by Napoleon Wilson
Apr 3 '16 at 17:25, by Napoleon Wilson
Heh, that Midnight Heat film from John Nicolella even has the music by Jan Hammer and Switek as barkeeper. It's like a Miami Vice reunion.

Never heard of it.

I know, you didn't back when I watched it first either.
And neither did I until then.
It's a nice little neon noir thingy, even if nothing too special.

I don't think that I have seen Tracy or Shannon Tweed's movies...sorry to say ;)

It even has Dennis Hopper and Charlie Schlatter.

2:13 AM
Oh! Her and Gene Simmons just got married recently after a bazillion years together! Probably just for their reality show ;)
Too bad I can't post her Playboy pictorial in here from 1981. Dammit! ;)

@user22792 She dies pretty early in the film anyway. Daphne Ashbrook is the real deal in the story.

Don't know no Daphne Ashbrook.

Me neither, just from that film. But she's a looker there, of course.
Apparently the film is also called Sunset Heat at times.
And effin' Little Richard.

@NapoleonWilson Sure. She kinda looks like Michelle Pfieffer.

joeJonny Ola was there at the estate, who is to say he and a couple of his boys didnt shoot up michaels room, and jonny killed the two guys shortly after.

Oh, Ffs! Do we really need another answer to that question?

2:29 AM
Oka... maybe it's time to protect that effin' thing.

Right?
Andrew Martin's answer is the only good answer to that thing.
Can't you just go and delete the rest of them? ;)
After all...it's apparent that this site only provides crappy answers ;)

I deleted another one. The other ones, while probably bad, seem to genuinely attempt to answer the question at least.
@user22792 :'(

@NapoleonWilson Well, I don't think that...

Okay. That's good and to be hoped.

I was just referring to an earlier conversation in another room ;)

2:39 AM
Oh, well, I can imagine which room and which newly returned user. But I'd prefer that user's opinion-pieces to stay where they're appreciated and endorsed. ;-)

Not to say that some of the answers here aren't researched well, but that's true for all sites...even SFF. Just sayin' ;)

Indeed.

I understand what he is saying, I just don't think that it's fair to exclude SFF from not having bad answers at times, either and to say that every other stack sucks except for SFF. Just my opinion.

Well, of course. As said, I just leave that guy's ramblings to him and his ego. Or I try to at least. ;-)

Awwwww. Well, I don't want to make a personal attack on him. I like him and think that he is hilarious. I was just commenting that all sites have their issues.

Uhuh

Good morning

Morschn.

@NapoleonWilson good choice ;)

GOOD MORNING!!!

3:00 AM
Did I miss anything?
Wow there is another sports who looked like rugby but not rugby

Not since I have been here. Just Napoleon being impressed by some sex scene in a movie ;)

I bet there's about 5 million like that. Afterall, rugby itself has about 600 different rule sets.

Yep. 5 million. Exactly!

@user22792 Usually you're the one swooning over those, so I thought you might find it interesting. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson Well, I have to get it somewhere ;)
I gotta go. See you guys :)

3:06 AM
Anyway, I have to go to bed, good night.
@user22792 Wut? Where?

We are all leaving Ankit all by himself, now :(
@NapoleonWilson I just have to get off of here. Don't worry!

Okay.
Well, have fun then!

But, but, but...I'm still around. I'm just not around here :'(

Sure, I was about to call you soon anyway.
