The film features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan portraying the narrative role of Sarbjit's sister, Dalbir Kaur and Randeep Hooda in a titular role. Richa Chadda and Darshan Kumar play supporting roles in the film. Made on a production budget of ₹15 crore (US$2.2 million), Sarbjit premiered at the 69th Cannes Film Festival and was released on 20 May 2016 to mixed reactions from critics. Well, I just want to know if Randy "The Ram" dies at the end of The Wrestler. The internet is saying different things. Where's Mike when you need him? I'm just assuming that he has seen it since he's a wrestling fan.

ping him @KutuluMike

I did in Mos earlier because I saw him in there. Maybe he didn't see my ping. Maybe he's just ignoring me ;)

6:24 AM
He is in Agents of nothing and i did replied to him for something with no reply, might be busy or he might be ignoring both of us ;D

The movie had a bad ass sountrack, too. OMG. It was awesome! Mostly 80's hair metal ;)
@AnkitSharma Hehehe! Well, you can hardly blame him...for ignoring me at least ;)

why so

I'm just joking. It's all good :)

@AnkitSharma movies such as Sarbjit are wonderful. it's bad that they do not get business like others.

Ankit is all ready to watch a gripping drama and I am excited about Roadhouse. Hehehe!

@AJ agreed, Indian audience love melodrama and action stuff more
@steelershark that's going to happen tonight , atleast after 9-10 hours
@steelershark I have seen many Patrick Swayze films but not this one

@AnkitSharma Just as long as you know that Roadhouse is far more acclaimed than Sarbjit :P

@steelershark That doesn't matter to me ;p

@AnkitSharma It's your typical awesome 80's action, bar brawling movie with an awesome soundtrack.
Yeah...Roadhouse was up for best picture, I believe ;)
I'm full of it, tonight. I'm being completely sarcastic with everything that I say. Don't listen to me ;)

@Walt you probably watched a lot of movies. the only Identify This Movie gold badge holder.

What are we going to do for Suicide Squad In ToW???
DCEU week? DC week or some other better idea?

Meh, I don't know.

I tried it on BvS with no interests, so though top ask first

I don't know if people are weary of the 500th franchise-based challenge.
Maybe something much more fuzzy would be more interesting, like questions about the nature of anti-heroes.

11:37 AM
Anti hero week can be a good idea but that term can become vague

@Randal'Thor I know you're just using them for ridicule, but those birds are heart-meltingly adorable. Awww! They beat every stupid mothereffin' dog by leagues.
@AnkitSharma Indeed. And I would also limit it to questions about anti-heroes specifically, not every kind of crap question about Suicide Squad or 24.

You mean anti hero in sueprhero world only

@AnkitSharma Uh, no, of course not!

Q: Can you please Identify this movie: Girl protecting birds with her

user38307Can you please Identify this movie: Girl protecting birds with her,(Maybe ducks) she has house also. Girl age is 10-20. one man tries to cut off the wing of the bird. she screams she takes birds with her to underground.(not sure underground or not) movie is colour & not black white.

I would rather eschew from yet another superhero movie challenge, since there's a bit of an oversaturation of superheroes in films (and on this site?).

11:41 AM
@NapoleonWilson so i didn't got your point

@AnkitSharma Questions about anti-heroes in films, their characters, their motivations, or their historicaly development.

hmmm
sound nice

No matter if you want to know if Jack Bauer is an anti-hero, or if the Man with No Name is the same character in all the movies, or stuff like that.
But it's extremely vague indeed.

Are you going to suggest it or should I???

Meh, I don't know if it's a good idea in the first place.

11:44 AM
soudn nice to me

Anti-hero is a very vague term. I'm sure I've had arguments with people about what is and isn't an anti-hero.

~~
00
__
@DrRDizzle yeah you had that with me because you are too bad with terms ;p

Also, the Suicide Squad (I assume that's what this is in relation to?) aren't even anti-heroes. They may be the protagonists of the story, but they're still bad guys.

I'm just not sure I want the 500th comics movie challenge.
@DrRDizzle But they're fighting against other badder guys, no? And saving the world at that?

> An antihero, or antiheroine, is a protagonist who lacks conventional heroic qualities such as idealism, courage, or morality.

11:47 AM
We don't necessarily have to make a challenge for Suicide Squad either.

@NapoleonWilson Because they are being forced to. In my eyes, an anti-hero is someone who wants to do good, and has unconventional methods/personality. Not someone he is being forced to do good.

So they are protagonists, they lack heroic qualities and they are fighting against big bad, seems anti hero enough to me
> Suicide Squad is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name

@DrRDizzle For me it's also someone who does not want to do good but does so accidentally (and has a pure heart at his core, and I promise you there's a scene in the movie where those guys at least to somewhat of a good deed from interior motivation, be it a small one).

@AnkitSharma I really don't care what Wikipedia says.

@DrRDizzle But majority do

11:49 AM
@NapoleonWilson Wolverine is an anti-hero. He's dark, brooding, angry and violent, but he does the things he does because he knows it's the right thing to do, even if it isn't the right way of doing it.

If anyone's an anti-hero, I thought it'd be those guys.

That's not the same as Harley Quinn being forced to so something good upon threat of death.
IMO

And antihero definition i know doesn't mention willingly or not part

@DrRDizzle Sure, he's a bit of a mixture of a hero and an anti-hero.

@DrRDizzle No, movie version is a straight hero
Comics version was anti-hero

11:50 AM
@AnkitSharma In the later films, yeah. In the first one, not so much.

@DrRDizzle here comes the contradiction

@DrRDizzle Well, take Deadshot from Arrow as part of their suicide squad. Bad guy, killed some relative of Diggle, total asshole, but ultimately becomes a comrade and shows that he's just a misunderstood good guy at his core. That seems a poster book anti-hero.

> an antihero is a protagonist who has the opposite of most of the traditional attributes of a hero
TV trope

@NapoleonWilson Not having seen that much of Arrow - is he forced to do good, or does he realise the error of his ways somewhat? Big difference.

> An anti-hero is a flawed hero, and therfore, much more intresting then the more traditional heros. They can be working on the side of good, but with a tradic flaw, or a horrible past, or for reasons that are selfish and not intirely "pure".

11:52 AM
@AnkitSharma None of these mention having a bomb strapped around your neck and being forced to do good.

@DrRDizzle Yes, he is, but he still shows that he is good at his core. Why are you so hung up on the force thing?

@DrRDizzle Which one of them said that unwillingly doing good work does't count

@NapoleonWilson Because these characters are reformed. I'll bet dollars to donuts that most of them try to escape at one point or another, in order to carry on being villains. It's a different ball game.

@AnkitSharma Or for reasons that are selfish and not entirely "pure" - Booyah!

@NapoleonWilson He is dizzle, he just never understand anything whcih he don't want to

11:54 AM
@AnkitSharma Well, take it slow there maybe.

@AJ In my defense, I barely saw 1% of all movies ;)
And remember maybe half of them
But I'm working on it

Though, Urban Dictionary is not someone I would trust with many things. But that definition sounds pretty good.

And I think Napoleon's also nearing a gold tag badge

@Walt In what?

Antihero is anti-hero, it doesn't matter if they bailout or not they are not conventional heroes so they can bail out. If your ideal anti-hero is movie version of wolverine then u need to check the notes again

11:56 AM
@NapoleonWilson Plot explanation, I wager?
Just a guess. I mean you must be

@Walt Oh, well from votes yeah, but I need 44 more answers.

@NapoleonWilson Well hop to it :P
That's still pretty good

It's just a matter of time.

Better then me, I am not even half way on basis of question count

But I see you're discussing anti-heroes

11:58 AM
This list is for characters in fictional works who exemplify the qualities of an antihero – a protagonist whose characteristics include the following: imperfections that separate them from typically heroic characters (selfishness, ignorance, bigotry, etc.); lack of positive qualities such as "courage, physical prowess, and fortitude," and "generally feel helpless in a world over which they have no control"; qualities considered dark traits, usually belonging to villains, (amorality, greed, violent tendencies, etc.) that may be tempered with more human, identifiable traits (confusion, self-hatred...
You know who isn't on that list?

I'd be much happier about a bronze badge than a gold one.

Anyone in Suicide Squad.

11 mins ago, by Dr R Dizzle
@AnkitSharma I really don't care what Wikipedia says.

Meh, whatever, I gave up caring about the matter.

I don't think redemption is necessarily a part of it. Not on TV, anyway. Walter White and Tony Soprano are classic anti-heroes and they have a potential to be better people, but choose not to be. But we still feel for them because they're the protagonists.

12:00 PM
@AnkitSharma Well if you're going to use it and Urban friggin' Dictionary to try and prove a point, so am I.

Anyway that list is incomplete as they don't show many antiheros
Doctor Ock and norman osborn were antihero too

@Walt Walter White isn't an anti-hero. He's a bad person through and through.
@AnkitSharma No, they are traditionally villains.

@DrRDizzle He didn't start out as bad. Flawed, maybe.

Oh Gheez, now Walter White isn't an anti-hero anymore either? Yeah whatever.

@DrRDizzle they you know nothing , as they did become anti hero for some prints
And there is no rule traditional villain can't becoem anti-hero

12:02 PM
And I'm afraid there's no other word for what Walter White is anyway. He's not a villain or an antagonist.

Someone tell me when Walter White does anything that can be considered heroic.

@AnkitSharma No, they're just villains with a tragic backstory.

@NapoleonWilson I mean in comics, Osborn become kind of iron man and once even made an avenger team

@DrRDizzle Kill some assholes, provide for his family, seek redemption, save Jesse.
Those deeds are not heroic or carried out in a heroic way, but then again, noone called him a hero either.

I really want to see dizzle's twsited rule book

12:04 PM
@AnkitSharma An evil Avengers team! They were evil, not "anti-heroes".

@AnkitSharma Ok, I was just going by films.

@DrRDizzle If he is heroic then we might call him hero not anti-hero

@AnkitSharma I dunno about Ock, but Osborn is more of a tragic villain (in Spider-man 2002, anyway)

@NapoleonWilson In fairness, maybe his arc over the last 3-ish episodes of the show would qualify him for anti-hero status. But before that? No chance.

The Superior Spider-Man was a superhero comic book series that was published by Marvel Comics that ran between January 2013 and June 2014. The series was written by Dan Slott with artwork by Ryan Stegman, Humberto Ramos, and Giuseppe Camuncoli. It features a reformed Otto Octavius who has taken over Peter Parker's body, and, having allowed Peter to die in Octavius' body but being affected by Peter's memories, is determined to be a better Spider-Man than Peter ever was, and a better man than Otto Octavius. The title replaced the long running series The Amazing Spider-Man, after the conclusion of...

12:05 PM
@DrRDizzle So what would you call him?

@Walt The protagonist. He isn't a hero, he isn't an anti-hero, he isn't a villain. He's a selfish man with an inferiority complex.

In The Superior Spider-Man, Otto Octavius switched body with spider-man's but still do good deeds but in evil way liek killing villains

Honestly, the term anti-hero provides a pretty wide berth. I'm not sure why you're so against it.

@AnkitSharma That is an anti-hero. Doing good things, by choice, in a bad way.

6 mins ago, by Dr R Dizzle
@AnkitSharma No, they are traditionally villains.

12:07 PM
@DrRDizzle Oh, so Dexter is now an anti-hero but Walter White isn't? I'm really not following your logic. ;)

@AnkitSharma Traditionally, they are villains.
Learn what traditionally means.
@Walt I haven't seen Dexter, so I don't know.

@DrRDizzle He's a serial killer that kills killers.

@Walt If Walter white is villain then how can dexter be anti-hero
@DrRDizzle so what?

@AnkitSharma To his defence, he didn't exactly call Walter White a villain either.

@DrRDizzle Anti-hero can change side from villain to antihero, that doesn't make them villain because they are traditional villain once
9 mins ago, by Dr R Dizzle
@Walt Walter White isn't an anti-hero. He's a bad person through and through.

12:10 PM
@Walt So a bit like The Punisher, who is an anti-hero (although that's pretty much about as anti-hero as you can get before you're just a bad guy).
5 mins ago, by Dr R Dizzle
@NapoleonWilson In fairness, maybe his arc over the last 3-ish episodes of the show would qualify him for anti-hero status. But before that? No chance.

@DrRDizzle Dexter is a part time killer who kills bad people but he is psychopath too
@DrRDizzle No he was anti-hero from his first appearnce, last 3 epsidoe made him hero

A J
What would Jigsaw in Saw be, villain, antihero, hero or nothing?

need tea break

@DrRDizzle I have no qualms with most of your characterizations, but I don't think you understand the term, or have created your own meaning for it. An anti-hero is a flawed protagonist that departures from the traditional definition of a 'hero'. But we still care for them because it's their story.
@AJ Tricky one, but he's pretty much the villain. The movies usually follow the protagonists who fall in his traps.

@Walt The protagonist. He isn't a hero, he isn't an anti-hero, he isn't a villain. He's a selfish man with an inferiority complex.
@AnkitSharma Well, that maybe not either.

A J
@Walt he prepares traps for protagonists to teach them a lesson, which makes him a hero, but his methods are cruel which qualifies him as a villain.

@MovieReel Dafuqin' sheet wut?

A J
@NapoleonWilson this question looks like a trivia question?

Maybe.
The asker giving a one-line answer himself 5 minutes later does certainly not help his cause.

@AJ In that case, a good therapist will be 10 times the hero Jigsaw is ;)

12:28 PM
Who the fuck upvotes that question along with the useless answer? That thing just has to be a bad joke by someone.
Oh wait, tagged Star Wars, I hope that wasn't M&TV Obie's fault.

A J
@Walt just saying. it is pretty typical to decide.
@NapoleonWilson M&TV Obie?

@AJ An automatic question feed from another site.

A J
ok

@AJ It was always an interesting twist on serial killers, sure, but ultimately, his machines do kill people and his 'lessons' are unnecessarily harsh

Indeed.

12:34 PM
@NapoleonWilson Also, their Google must be broken because mine is working just fine

@Walt Well, his apparently did 3 minutes later, too.

Silly Google

A J
@Walt I actually had a long discussion about this a few years ago. conclusion: protagonist.

@AJ About what? Saw?

A J
@Walt yes

12:41 PM
He doesn't seem to be a protagonist at all. Maybe he's an anti-hero, maybe he's not. But how is he the protagonist?

@Walt Maybe I have. I always viewed the term anti-hero to mean someone who, at heart, was ultimately trying to do the right thing. Maybe most people don't see it that way.
ThatShrugEmoticon

@NapoleonWilson I'm sensing the argument is that he's there the whole time (just not really moving). But I still disagree, yeah.

A J
@NapoleonWilson I also disagreed and dropped the conversation.

@DrRDizzle TBH, on TV, the definition kinda had to change. Before The Sopranos and arguably Oz, shows never really followed the villain around. (Profit might be an exception). I guess we had to call them something. ;)

People in general (no one here, I may had) seem all too happy to use the words protagonist and hero as if they are interchangeable. Likewise with antagonist and villain.

12:50 PM
@DrRDizzle You can always play around with them
You can call Michael Corleone a 'Protagonist Villain' instead of an anti-hero, if that sounds better to you

It does, but only because an anti-hero isn't the same thing as a villain who is the protagonist :P

@DrRDizzle Sometimes it is
What would you call Louis Bloom in Nightcrawler?

@Walt There-in lies the argument.
@Walt A sociopath.
