Q: What music video was this from?

GeorgeLooking for a music video (probably from 1980s) but don't know the song or the group. Some remembered scenes: Young man leaves his apartment, jumps down stairs, over a wall, to meet a young woman. Man and woman are talking to an older man, who then does a backflip. Couple have an argument, woman ...

Q: Did the writers know from the beginning who Red John was?

Lars EbertRewatching The Mentalist lately, I realized that we actually meet Red John quite early. The true identity of Red John was revealed years later. That made me wonder. Did the writers know the identity of Red John from the beginning or was it decided later in the show?

Q: Movie about a kid who meets a female motorcyclist, and she says him to touch his breast

jorgedureSorry for mi english. In the scene, it is night. The child is alone (I think he's in a restaurant or something like that), and this girl is offered to take him home on his motorcycle. She tells him that if he wants, he can embrace grasping his chest so he would not fall, but he says no.. This is ...

Q: Girl got released from prision and fall in love with a rich guy

JazzThere is a tv show that I watched a while back but can't remember it's name It's about a girl who just got out from jail. I don't remember why she has been there but I think it's something her father did. Anyway after that she lives with her grandmother, brother and her adopted sister. She was r...

I see you @NapoleonWilson up late again. Was it karaoke?

6:55 AM
@Catija No, work. ;-(
But I see that you're up late again, too. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson Ugh... work... that's late. Poor guy. Anyway, I'm always up late. :P

But if you pin that down solely on my last chat message, that isn't really sufficient evidence anyway, since 1:30 is usually a normal non-sleep time for me anyway.

Isn't it like 8 or 9 am? Are you just waking up or still up?

Now? Yeah, but that would actually mean I'm up early already. But anyway, today/night both statements would be valid anyway.

I actually saw you over on Meta first.
Oh, what do you think about protecting that Divergent question? It's been ok up to now but I worry since it's such a popular topic.

7:05 AM
Hmm, ok then. I guess your reasoning seems valid then.
@Catija I don't know.
It doesn't seem to attract so many useless answers. There's only one deleted answer currently and that's from a high-rep user. Doesn't seem worth protecting, it's only one possible not-an-answer candidate for now.
There's far more popular and 1-rep attracting stuff around. Ever wondered who James in The Double actually is?

Yeah. It's just funny to me because she starts out talking politics and then switches to talking about some idiotic fan site's "Which faction are you" quiz.
@NapoleonWilson I don't know who James or what "The Double" is.

@Catija Me neither, I only know many people want to know that (or at least assume they know it).

WTF! That's nutty! How the hell does an obscure question get so many answers?... I think that other site just told all of their users to come and make a mystery for us.
16 answers? That's batty.
Can you get an achievement for having over X number of answers on your question or something?

I don't think so.
Maybe it's because I don't know what that question is about at all, but I have the feeling every other week that thing is on the frontpage yet again with another answer.

7:20 AM
It's so crazy... I've never even heard of the film.

"The discussion about the human being and relationship with own acts is far beyond the topic of this question." - Uh, wut?

Ugh... I want to link to the wikipedia article for Vulva to explain the Vuvalini tie but I think it's too NSFW.

@Catija You mean that's really inspired therefrom?

Yeah, I don't get that... I'm pretty sure he doesn't really speak English and he's using a translator to understand what's being said.
@NapoleonWilson It seems pretty obvious to me...

Well, to be honest I don't yet like (or at least care about) any of the answers to that question (but well, I'm not even sure what to think about the question). That whole huge Amazon rambling seems quite a bit meandering and unrelated to me on first sight (and for deeper consideration I didn't care about the question enough).

7:30 AM
I'm not particularly tied to it but the OP seems ok with it... which is fine with me. We'll find out more when the other films are released (if they do get released) and then people can really answer the question.

Well, maybe I'll give that answer a closer look and think a bit more about it when I have the time and mood. That being said, I don't think such a link is in any way harmful. Even if it was NSFW (which I don't really see it being, it's a Wikipedia article about human anatomy, I'd consider a Wiki article about Mad Max: Fury Road even more NSFW), it would still just be a link anyway.

Should I say "Potentially NSFW" next to the link, just for safety?

@Catija Meh, not in my opinion at least, but what the hell's my opinion.

That meta topic just keeps getting better...

Q: Winter is Coming

LiathIt's my understanding that the phrase "Winter is Coming" is the motto of the Stark house, when the story first reaches the wall it's implied that the winter is not a periodic season like it is in our world. Does the winter refer to a particularly severe season or does a winter only occur every f...

^any better title suggestion for this?

@AnkitSharma Seems absolutely fine to me.
@Catija Which?

@AnkitSharma "What does "Winter is coming" refer to?"

Q: Man meets a creature, promises not to tell anyone but breaks his promise

AhmadI have seen this movie between 1997 and 1999. English, color. I am not sure, but I think the movie is divided into several short unrelated stories (much like Twilight Zone). In one of those stories, a guy is walking in an alley, alone, and happens to meet a creature, maybe a gargoyle or someth...

Ahmad is kind of the anti-Walt.

HA HA HA... but do they cancel out and make the universe explode?

During voting session, i noticed that so many question deserve more vote then they have. And ID question getting more upvote then they should
@NapoleonWilson LOL

7:53 AM
@Catija Hmm, rather they cancel each other out and produce accepted answers together, I guess.
(But well, since they're ultimately ID questions, I guess the exploding universe theory isn't so far off either.)

Did you see the new meta question? in our meta?

Yeah
i have seen it
I rejected it but with wrong reason
But it was not much useful either
So sticked with it

It was useful, it fixed hard errors.

If he redoes it and you approve it as is, I'm going to just re-edit it... or I can "steal" the edit and just fix it myself now. There's a lot to fix that he didn't touch, to be honest.

Q: Why was this edit rejected?

bizentassI was replacing 'bare' with 'bear' (which is the word that fits properly in the sentence). I certainly wasn't mentioning about any bears in the show. FYI - Bare vs Bear

7:57 AM
@MetaReel A little late, lovey.

@NapoleonWilson this made my two mistake for yesterday.
So this means i should avoid review bar in frustrating day :D
But why "anymore to more"

If you don't like the other parts of the edits that do not fix errors, you can reject and improve it (or accept and improve it, depends on the ratio between clutter and fixes).

It should be "any more" two words.

either "any more" or "more". "anymore"'s wrong.

or, even better... "additional"
I never did watch the rest of Dexter... guess I don't have to any more.

8:03 AM
What about destroyed the same way?
Looks like i need to spend more time in ELL

I'm always happy to help. I spend half my time over there, myself. :D
@AnkitSharma That wasn't necessary, either.
and "didn't" doesn't need to be changed to "doesn't".
@NapoleonWilson Are you using the New Nav?

AhmadIn King Pin (1996) during the first scenes, we see the protagonist having trouble with his car, so he takes it to a mechanic. The mechanic wastes no time spotting the problem. What definitely was necessary in some way or another was the "anymore", "bear" and "is".
@Catija Uh, you know that we already discussed largely about it and I asked a question about it. So yes, I do use it, on the site that have it at least.

8:10 AM
@NapoleonWilson and the "too". It really doesn't need to be there.

Or do you mean if I actually use it in everyday life apart from testing? Then, no. I don't, what should I use it for? I barely (bearly?) used the old tabs anyway. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson I'm tired. :K That question we were just looking at doesn't show up on the front page for some reason. Seems like a bug?

@Catija There's a limit. Questions below a certain score threshold are not shown. That limit is lower on meta (if it even exists there). But on the main site (at least our's) if something has -4, it just doesn't appear in the normal question view.

OH. That makes sense. :)

But well, I'm hardly as active on meta or SO to even warrant any kind of reasonable use of that feature yet.

8:13 AM
I just like that we got in the first 500 and there's like 2000 people on the waiting list. :P
I want a special tag or something :P

@Catija ?

There were only 500 Alpha testers the first day, and now they've increased it to 1000 but there's still 2000 people on the waiting list to try it out.
> Update: We have activated 500 more testers after deploying a set of fixes. There are around 1000 testers active now. There are 3000 people in the waiting list, gosh! You might need to wait a little bit.
So, 3K waiting.

@AnkitSharma A bit yes and a bit no. I had that idea previously and wrote it as a comment to this question already. But it was your ability to extract the pure background without the question text that allowed me to post it as an actual answer. — TARS May 22 at 14:45
@NapoleonWilson lol, now i didn't know that you were tars during that comment

Ryan JI can't for the life of me recall what the title is of this movie, I do recall it being about a brilliant mathematician and his daughter following in his footsteps. I remember a scene of her talking about/eventually figuring out her father's proof. Does anyone know what movie this is?

@NapoleonWilson I've only seen them intermittently, so I'd agree... though the newer ones with Daniel Craig seem to build upon each other.
I mean, how can you understand his mourning and his reckless actions in ... Um... Quantum (I think?) if you don't know about the loss of his love in the previous one. I've sort of let them all blend in my head, to be honest.
Yeah, what happens to Vesper... who I just realized is the lady in Penny Dreadful... at the end of Casino Royale.
