@AnkitSharma I think it's a good question. 1. If we'd expect OPs to come up with the exact, elaborate Google phrase that points to the answer, no question will be valid. 2. Bear in mind that Google remember where you've been. If you visited pages related to the film before, it'll show them higher up the list next time. And the OP probably hasn't.

8:48 AM
@AnkitSharma So did the Flash pilot, but Supergirl was paced and structured much better.
@AnkitSharma The Flash pilot and what I have seen of Arrow were both full of awful dialogue, so actually...

@Walt yeah, very detailed for sure.
@DrRDizzle completely disagree

@AnkitSharma "Lightning gave me abs?"

@DrRDizzle that was a joke and it worked.

@AnkitSharma It was laughable, but that doesn't make it a joke, and it didn't work at all.

@DrRDizzle better then "With great power comes something something - AoS"

8:56 AM
@AnkitSharma But that actually is a joke, a reference to another Marvel property.

@DrRDizzle it didn't worked for you, "didn't work at all" is overreacting
@DrRDizzle yeah i know
@DrRDizzle It appeared cheesy enough to me didn't worked at all .

@AnkitSharma Cheesy != bad. Bad = bad, and "Lightning gave me abs" is an awful lin.

@DrRDizzle i was not talking about cheese but cheap for AoS dialogue , which it sounded to me. But i am not going to say its a worse dialogue ever in the universe because its my interpretation . But that abs dialogue was good and not awfull, didn't work at all etc etc

@AnkitSharma But it didn't tell you anything. It was dialogue for dialogues sake, you learnt nothing new about the characters, story etc, it wasn't funny and it just came off as a cringe-worthy attempt and making Barry (who is already unbearably "normal") more relatable.

@DrRDizzle jokes are joke, they are not there to alter the universe.

9:07 AM
@AnkitSharma But like I said, I didn't find it funny, and neither did anyone else I have asked. Are you saying you actually laughed at it?

@DrRDizzle Marvel fanboy and their logic.

@AnkitSharma How can I be a Marvel fanboy when the thing I am comparing Flash to is Supergirl?

@DrRDizzle Because supergirl looked like AoS first season to me.

@AnkitSharma The Supergirl pilot was just a better structured/paced version of the Flash pilot, in everything from tone to writing style.

@DrRDizzle Supergilr pilot have so many issues. Arrow pilot and flash were way better (vixen too on side note).
Supergirl just over used woman/girls
Cheesy dialogues like a old school marvel

9:15 AM
@AnkitSharma But like I said, it has the exact same writing style and tone as Flash. How can you like one but not the other?

@DrRDizzle similar to you, as you hated flash and arrow and like supergirl. Its about taste/opinion
And all three show are diffrent
You opinion can't change fact. Same maker but show are different and for different target audience

@AnkitSharma I didn't hate Flash, I thought the pilot was rushed and unstructured. The very tonally similar Supergirl pilot wasn't (well, it was a little rushed towards the end, but nowhere near as much as Flash was).

Supergirl seems like made for girls or teen girls

@AnkitSharma Whereas "lightning gave me abs" Flash and "advertised exclusively with topless men" Arrow aren't?

@DrRDizzle You are changing statement. You said both show are same and i should like them both but on other hand you like supergirl pilot way more.

9:19 AM
@AnkitSharma Because the Supergirl pilot was a better paced and more competently structured episode. They were similar in tone and writing style, I'm not saying they were exactly the same quality wise.

@DrRDizzle topless men, ok so do you wear hoods in gym?

@AnkitSharma I'm not saying that being aimed at a certain audience is a bad thing!

You can even dislike GoT for showing sex because during that they are even nude
@DrRDizzle I am saying their settings are diffrent. All three work individual diffrent and one can like one or all three or even none but call them awful, worse etc seems overreacting

@AnkitSharma You are just 100% missing what I am trying to say - Greg Berlanti has a certain style that all his shows seem to follow with minor differences, and part of that tone is a level of earnestness that can seem cheesy. All three of his shows (Arrow, Flash and Supergirl) have that, and Flash and Supergirl from those three are very similar in tone beyond just the earnestness.
@AnkitSharma They are lighter, almost comedic throughout (from what I have seen), whereas Arrow is a little darker. All three still have that earnestness though.

@DrRDizzle That's why i am liking arrow current season more then flash.

9:31 AM
@AnkitSharma That's why I couldn't stick with Arrow for very long. The show so badly wants to use Batman, with his whole "You have failed this city" thing.

Flash season one i liked more then arrows season 3 but this year they are opposite to me

@AnkitSharma Aren't they only like two episodes in?

@DrRDizzle current season are at episode 4.

@AnkitSharma You don't watch Agents of SHIELD do you?

@DrRDizzle No, i didn't liked season one starting 4-5 episode and due to tight schedule i have to removed it from list.

9:40 AM
@AnkitSharma Fair enough, I was just wondering what you thought of the latest episode, but if you haven't seen it...
@AnkitSharma For the record though, if you ever do have any spare time it's worth watching it through. It isn't great, but it's good enough, and has been constantly improving ever since the pilot.

@DrRDizzle AoS and better call saul might come in my re consideration but i am too much consumed that my pending list increasing day by day

@AnkitSharma Better Call Saul was an excellent TV show.

@DrRDizzle didn't liked it at standards of breaking bad, maybe my expectation were way ahead.
But my current list have months of pending stuff.

@AnkitSharma Overall, it was a stronger first season than the first season of Breaking Bad was. I don't think the show will ever manage to be as good as Breaking Bad on the whole (everything from halfway through season two of Breaking Bad onwards is pure gold), but it was still a great watch.

@AnkitSharma I don't see why not

@DrRDizzle anyways it have very less question to go on with.

@DrRDizzle Watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" lastnight. Liked it. Thought it was funny. Good music.

@steelerfan Ooga chaka ooga ooga.
@steelerfan I like Guardians of the Galaxy a lot, it is probably the most unique of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films to date.

@DrRDizzle Yeah, if all marvel movies were like this one, I would watch all of them!
@NapoleonWilson dude, you're killing me! I am not answering your question yet. I'm afraid it will be more opinion based at this point. I put it in my netflix bc I need to re-watch. (sigh)
Have a good day/afternoon/evening everyone!

1:12 PM
@AnkitSharma I'm not even sure what you mean by that. But I have veeery little experience with the DCAU. I only saw the Batman Animated Series and a bit of the Superman series a looong time ago. And I only saw very few selected animated Batman movies. But know pretty much zero about the Justice League or any other non-movie DC heroes at all.
In general I don't really care about the DC vs Marvel debate outside of movie and TV. 'tis true that the only comics I ever read were some Batman stuff (and Watchmen), but other than that I have no affiliation with either. But I might be a bit more optimistic about the DCEU than about the MCU, be it just because it's something new and the MCU stuff, while still pretty good, tends to get a little old after the 10th similar movie.

@NapoleonWilson There are few question without DCAU tag which are about a show from that universe

@AnkitSharma OOOOOUUUHH, you're talking about tags. Duh!

@NapoleonWilson you might trigger a argument with dd...d.d....dizzle

@steelerfan Most of them are about as good, in my opinion, albeit very different in tone/story etc.
@NapoleonWilson Watchmen (the comic) is a masterpiece.

@AnkitSharma Is there even a tag for it? But even more important, is it actually a coherent self-contained and entirely consistent universe with a completely shared continuity and many cross-movie references? If not, then it's absolutely not a movie series. We don't tag Disney stuff either.

1:15 PM
@NapoleonWilson The DCAU is a defined continuity, yes.

The DC animated universe (DCAU) is a fan term for a series of popular animated television series and related spin-offs produced by Warner Bros. Animation which share the same continuity. Most of these series are adapted from DC Comics properties but are considered non-canon. This continuity is also sometimes referred to as the Timmverse (after producer Bruce Timm, the continuity's most consistent creative influence), and in the past as the Diniverse (after writer Paul Dini, who had mostly departed from Warner Bros. Animation when Justice League was in production). == List of DCAU media == While...

@NapoleonWilson Although it doesn't include all animated DC stuff, so the line is a little blurry to newcomers.

Its name came from fans but all stuff inside it is canon
@DrRDizzle That's why i made that tag bit detailed

But yeah, one of the big dangers of the tag and its new usage is that it might motivate to be much more lax with studio tags. Don't et me started on this awful , , crap.

@NapoleonWilson Its better to keep universe tag different from studio tags

1:18 PM
@DrRDizzle And is that continuity important and prevalent?

@NapoleonWilson It matters in-universe as far as I am aware, and crossovers are frequent.

@AnkitSharma That's the point, the tag is not a "universe tag", there is no such thing as a "universe tag". It's a franchise/series tag.
@DrRDizzle Bleh, then it seems it could be argued that it's a useful tag.

@NapoleonWilson batman and superman animated series and their cameo character used in justice league. Static shock work individual with few crossover. Batman beyond set after Justice league and have crossover too. Its all canon and effect each other too.
@NapoleonWilson yeah i mean franchise/serie by using universe. Maybe used wrong term.
Zeta project i think is spin-off in DCAU but i have no knowledge what happens in it, so i am not sure.
@DrRDizzle Even Justice league and justice league unlimited are not much understandable alone. They used all the character came before. Mostly recycled villains
and heros

Answer of the day

1:40 PM
@DrRDizzle Some of the dialog can be a bit cheesy, but Supergirl was just full of cheese. The biggest issue I have is they want to portray a strong, female superhero, but the dialog just comes off wrought with overly saturated "girl power" tones. I realize I'm a man while saying this, but still.
@DrRDizzle Guardians of the Galaxy was fantastic, and a breath of fresh air for the MCU, but I still hold Winter Soldier as their best to date. Pretty much set the bar for superhero films IMO.

@MattD I can only think of two times that the whole "it's a girl" thing was too heavy handed.

@DrRDizzle Seriously?

@MattD Captain America: The Winter Soldier is incredible.
@MattD Yeah. When her sister was like "Why, because she's a girl?" and when the head of Catco was like "what's wrong with being a girl" which didn't even make sense because Superwoman is a better name anyway.

@DrRDizzle Meh, maybe. It was pretty good, but I also have the impression the bar is a little lower for something to be "groundbreaking" in comics.

@DrRDizzle And the whole, "Oh, your'e a lesbian, that's cool and that's why you don't like me." And Vartox indicating women kneel to men on his planet. And likely some others I'm forgetting. The entire fact Jimmy Olson is only in the show to provide some sort of tie-back to the Superman universe and to serve as a forced love interest.

1:46 PM
@NapoleonWilson I think it's a masterpiece of fiction, not just comics.

@NapoleonWilson The only "ground breaking" they're doing in comics lately is a bunch of forced PC crap, making changes for the sake of making changes and never really providing significant meaning behind them.

@MattD Forgot about Vartox, but that wasn't overly cringe worthy, he was just an asshole. Also, how was the potential for romance forced?

@MattD PC?

@DrRDizzle Meh, maybe. It seems to derive much of its significance from its nature as a comic and the surrounding existing culture it was thrown into. Not sure if it's still that groundbreaking nowadays.

@AnkitSharma Political Correctness.

1:48 PM
ohhhh

@NapoleonWilson Even if it isn't as relevant, I'd argue it's still a fantastically dense story.

@AnkitSharma Don't get me wrong, I think people shouldn't be jerks, but I don't think changes for the sake of changing things up to make some people happy is the best way to go about it.

@DrRDizzle Well, sure, it's an interesting story and a nice read for sure.

I love watchmen, its not everyone cup of tea but its amazing

@AnkitSharma The comics are fantastic, and I feel the film did a pretty damn good job of bringing them to life.

1:49 PM
@AnkitSharma I thought you hadn't even read it.

@MattD i am not into recent comics. I think all good things happen already, now all crap.
@NapoleonWilson yeah, i didn't yet.

@AnkitSharma Oh, I was only talking about the comics.

But as per news, film is true adaptation
@NapoleonWilson the i got it wrong

But of course the movie is really great.

Ankit SharmaI am thinking of buying the Watchmen Graphic Novel in India but I'm confused about the different editions. I did planned to buy it but plan got postponed

1:51 PM
@NapoleonWilson It gave me confidence in Snyder's ability to handle Man of Steel.

@NapoleonWilson I like the movie enough, but I don't think it's as good as the comic

@MattD Which then got affirmed.

@NapoleonWilson I know a lot of people who hate on the film, but I really enjoyed it. Was it the best superhero film? No, but it did what few others have managed to do: make Superman relatable.

@NapoleonWilson He even points at your message lol

1:52 PM
@MattD its my fav film in superhero genre. I kept it no 1.

@DrRDizzle Meh, maybe I'm just not a comics person or I should have read it in 1985, but I love the movie and it's at least as great as the comic. But afterall, they're simply not comparable and I wouldn't say which is better, they're different media afterall.

@AnkitSharma I haven't really sat down recently to rank things again.

Then comes Dark night trilogy, spider man and winter soldier.

@AnkitSharma Which Spider-Man?

Then again, I don't like ranking things, at least rigidly.

1:53 PM
@DrRDizzle older. I hate ASM

@MattD Indeed!

@AnkitSharma ok cool

Whenever I write little reviews of movies I see for friends on Facebook, I never assign a number or star score. I only indicate how much I'd like to see the film again, or to own it on Blu-ray.

@MattD Of course, me neither.

@MattD I find it easier to relate to someone who just wants to make the world a better place than someone who is conflicted about the godlike powers he has, but you do you.

1:54 PM
@DrRDizzle ASM made me hate a film adaptation of one of my favorite superhero

I feel with sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, we've moved away from meaningful review and critique. People just want everything boiled down to a number and then base whether they want to see the film on that.

@MattD I don't give a score to things either.

You wanna know what I thought about a film? Read what I wrote, don't just look for some sort of grade at the end of it.

Q: Can someone really viedio chat from space as howard wolowitz did?

Dark ArmyWe have seen Howard wolowitz communicating with Bernadette rostenkowski over screen .SO i just wanted to confirm that is it really possible to communicate using vidio chat facilities like skype or omagle from space. Is there any truth or was it just for the series.

@MattD I don't mind the score. I usually like to score too.

1:55 PM
@MattD I do think for casual cinema goers that a "score" has a place though.

But i am not always agree with others score
@MovieReel viedo?

@AnkitSharma Between those two sites, Metacrtic is far better to me. My biggest issue with RottenTomatoes is a review can only be good or bad, no in-between. Metacritic allows for the in-between reviews to actually matter.
But the issue there is people see a movie with 50% and think it's bad. Actually, 50% means it's neither good nor bad, it's merely mediocre.
Hell, even 70% can be bad to some people.
I blame that on the American grading scale, though.

@MattD Yeah, I really hate that. People tend to grade positively, which means that the average film is about 65%.

The movie that challenged me to look deeper into scores and critical consensus? 17 Again.

@MattD i go for IMDb more, critics are crazy, i can't relate with all of them.

1:59 PM
@MattD why?

@AnkitSharma I don't care much for IMDb. I don't trust a lot of people's opinions on film. :P

@MattD You can't trust people.

@MattD for me Hollywood film's IMDb rating have 75% accuracy as per my opinions.

@DrRDizzle I watched it after hours while I was working projection for my local theater. I was unemployed and had nothing to do the next morning so I figured why not hang with some of my co-workers? Knew nothing bout the film going in, but ended up finding it enjoyable enough that I'd recommend it. The reviews would indicate otherwise, though.

@MattD Huh. Being as it has Zac Efron in I would have assumed the opposite.

2:01 PM
@MattD Zac made me ignore that film.

@DrRDizzle I like Efron, and think he's got plenty of talent.

@MattD I wouldn't know, the way he is advertised put me off him from early on

we are on same page, How :O
O-o

@DrRDizzle He's still going for "pretty boy" roles, but overall the films I've seen him in I find to be enjoyable enough.

@MattD It looked like he may have been good in Bad Neighbours but I never got round to seeing that.

2:04 PM
Keep in mind I'm one of the few people out there who felt Matthew McConaughey had talent that simply wasn't being tapped, even while he was doing films such as Fool's Gold and Surfer, Dude, both of which I've never actually seen.

@AnkitSharma The only thing we actually disagree on is comic book stuff, so I'm not surprised.

@DrRDizzle I can't remember what I wrote about Bad Neighbors at the time, but thinking back on it I'm pretty sure I liked it enough.

@MattD So do you write for a site/blog?

@DrRDizzle No, but I wouldn't mind to if the right opportunity came along. I've also thought of starting my own general blog to write about movies, TV, video games, board games, programming, really just a blog about my hobbies and career.
@DrRDizzle I do small reviews on my Facebook profile, and apparently people actually read them, liked them (even if they didn't agree with me) to the point I had people telling me they'd be waiting for my thoughts on a particular film.

@MattD I started blogging about films/TV/videogames about a year and a half ago now, and I've found it really rewarding (as well as being a great way to get better at writing about and analyzing films/tv shows).

2:07 PM
@DrRDizzle It really is, as practice makes perfect or so the saying goes.
Lately I've tried to not feel snobbish about it. Felt like I was becoming some kind of film asshole after a while.

@MattD I look back at some of my earlier reviews and wonder how I thought that what I'd wrote was a good article. And I'm sure I'll look back at my current reviews in the same way one day.

I don't mind writing review but i need an editor. As my grammar sucks.

@DrRDizzle One of the best sayings I've heard in my days as a programmer: if you look back at work you did two years ago and don't see problems, you haven't been learning.

@MattD I'm gonna put that on a motivational poster.

Shortened that up a bit.

2:09 PM
My motivational poster have gun in it :D

@AnkitSharma My motivational poster has a gun in it. :D

@AnkitSharma Is English your first language? I would assume not (no offense intended)

@DrRDizzle no, its not.
Its Hindi but i am not a frequent Hindi writer anymore

@AnkitSharma Why not write in your first language then? There are an over-whelming amount of English language reviewers anyway.

@DrRDizzle Not everyone know Hindi in India too.

2:13 PM
@AnkitSharma Fair enough

So its better to go for English , it might help in improvement

3:11 PM
So a fake NBC website is making the rounds with an article saying a sixth season of Breaking Bad is happening.
Just letting everyone know in case questions about it start to crop up.

3:22 PM
@MattD Technically, a 6th season did happen. Blu rays in England (and maybe other places, I don't know) divide what we know to be the 5th season into the 5th season and the "final season".

@DrRDizzle I believe the same pretty much happened in the US as well, but there's no "official" sixth season or a continuation after the final episode of Breaking Bad.

Q: Any source to list the trailers that showed before a particular movie?

DovI was searching for trailers that played before a movie I just saw, and landed on this question. While informative, I still haven't found a way to easily answer my question. Is there anyplace you can go to determine which trailers (are at least likely to) show before any given movie?

3:36 PM
@MattD Well, you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many movies I liked that I later found out on the internet that I was actually supposed to not like them. That's why I simply don't care what the internet fan hype hate culture says about anything.
@MattD I think there's an interesting analysis of Zac Efron's place inside his movies and the film industry based on his appearance in Bad Neighbours, but it's not available in English anyway.
But I couldn't ever write a movie review blog. As I've demonstrated time and time again I apparently don't know shit about the nuances of story- and character development, cinematography, acting or whatever. And simply always saying that I liked the movie and it had a great atmosphere would become old pretty fast. Likewise my vocabulary isn't that huge either and I'd simply start repeating myself. I've rather settled for haikus as a way to channel my movie enjoyment into something productive.
Though, I didn't get around to writing one of those for a long time either. ;-(

Q: What's the title of this zombie movie?

Vytautas.RI remember only one scene(30-60): People drive a car and hit zombies. No special effects, one camera without interruptions. It was amazing after cheap hollywood special effects. Thats why i remember it so good. It can possibly be an European production. Released somewhere maybe between 2000-2010.

3:52 PM
@NapoleonWilson I've found my ability to grasp concepts like that has improved dramatically since reading/writing more about movies. I'd recommend anyone who loves films (or any kind of entertainment) to try and structure their thoughts once in a while - it's an interesting experience, even if you never intend to make it public.

1 hour later…

Sorry, but somehow I got the feeling that today MovieReel thinks weekend should start a little earlier.

@MattD How were the debates last night? My prediction for Republican nominees: Donald Trump. running mate: Ted Nugent ;)
@NapoleonWilson Hey there. Sorry I couldn't get to your question, got sidetracked. Am re watching movie this weekend.

@steelerfan Haha, no (hu/wo)rries. It's an SE question, not life or death. There's a reason they don't have an expiry date (well, except those special kinds of questions, you know). I probably have millions of favourited questions I never will answer ever got around to answer yet.

@NapoleonWilson I am just too tenacious. I even annoy myself:)

@steelerfan At least you probably don't run the risk of someone else answering it before you can. ;-)

@NapoleonWilson True. I am on Noc shift this weekend. Lots of time!

Q: 90's comedy movie don't know the title plz help

orihey movie gurus i'm searching forever now for a movie i saw as a kid. the movie's main character is an old man named victor(already searched imdb) throughout the movie he keeps getting injured like falling of a moving train, getting burn and cast all over his body. i think he was British. as i r...

@steelerfan "Noc" like having your name on a CIA NOC list? Wow, that hospital seems to be quite special.

@steelerfan They got my wife and I sufficiently drunk. All kidding aside, CNBC was a joke running it, and the GOP really needs to pare down the number of candidates in the pool by at least half for future debates to actually be worthwhile IMO.
Criticisms the candidates lobbed at the hosts were fairly valid, regarding the types of questions being asked.

@MattD yes, it should be interesting who the candidate will be. I have only voted for prez once. I actually like Rubio.
@NapoleonWilson he he. Yes, I am sworn to secrecy;)
My lunch break is over. See you guys later.

Q: What movie has an ending with a city skyline (Vancouver?) in the background?

Mike GodardI think the movie was about people walking west through a wasteland looking for a habitable place to stay. I remember at the end, one of the characters rides off on a motorcycle and you can see a city skyline in the background through some woods.

Q: Assassin movies

PilpelI'm in love with this genre of a one man against many bad guys movies. e.g The Equalizer, John Wick, etc... Can you recommend more? I prefer new movies over old ones.

Yeah, I think we have confirmation it's really weekend already. Fine, so I don't need to show up at work tomorrow.

Q: What is the movie where people are wandering west in search of a habitable place to live?

Mike GodardThey're walking through a wasteland and the terrain slowly turns green as they approach the west coast. At the end, characters ride off on a motorcycle and there is a city skyline in the background. I think it's Vancouver. What movie is this!?

So... this just happened:
Watching Frozen!!! :D

@Catija I fucking love Frozen.

:D I haven't seen it since it came out, so I'm excited. :D

@Catija It's the music mostly to be honest.
"So she's a bit of a fixer upper..."

:D Yeah. The music is my favorite part of most of the Disney movies. The stuff in Tangled makes me cry every friggin time.
Did you see the short with the sneezes?

Q: Can I ask for help in identifying an old video posted on the internet?

DoubleDoubleIt would been a "meme" or viral video by today's standards, but I vaguely remember it from back when YouTube was first gaining traction. It isn't really a "Movie" and it would never have been on "TV" (that I know of) Can I ask for help in finding it (or the title of it) here?

"I don't know if I'm elated or gassy but I'm somewhere in that zone".

11:27 PM
@Catija I don't think so, what film was that before?

11:39 PM
Eh, Frozen was mediocre to me. Tangled was far better.

11:51 PM
@DrRDizzle No it was after. It's really cute.

@Catija Are you still a free woman or is your husband back yet? ;)

@steelerfan He just left yesterday and he doesn't come back until tomorrow evening... like 11 pm.

@Catija Party time! ;) Well, at least he will be back for your Anniversary.

@steelerfan Yes, I'm partying watching Frozen... because that's how I roll.

@Catija I hear ya. I would much better hang out at home and watch movies than go out. I am getting too old :(

11:58 PM
@steelerfan Meh, It's not really an age thing. I just don't like people.

@Catija Ha! I don't mind people, I just hate hangovers.
