Q: Is the footage at the end of the merchandising video in S05E08 referencing another episode?

Napoleon WilsonAt the end of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode "Paddy's Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens" (S05E08) the gang shows their merchandising video to a bunch of possible investors. But due to time problems they weren't able to properly cut it and thus the video suddenly ends with a ...

Q: How did Walt get shot?

AnkitIn the series finale when Walt turns on the automatic machine gun in his car's trunk everyone gets shot who is standing or sitting in a chair because the gun was pointed at a certain height. But how come Walt who is lying down on the ground gets shot too. Wasn't the gun way above Walt's level ?

@ChristianRau second season is quiet LOSTish for sure but i think they are providing partial answers too but mostly going in continuation to next season.
Watched all 12....waiting for 13 to come....to see finale

If you want Lost-ish mystery stuff, did you ever try Fringe?
It was JJ Abram's second TV show and basically a modern-day X-Files, it's one of my favourite shows ever

7:04 AM
@MrLore i am not much LOSTish fan because i want answers in the end witch lost never provided. I love X-file but its too old for now to watch.

I watched fringe's few episode but it looked a bit dull to me. Will give it a rewatch one day.

@AnkitSharma The first few episodes are a bit week, they start going into more 'mytharcs' later in the season, like The X-Files, but there are actually answers to everything in Fringe :)
As you can tell by how few questions there are about it on the site compared to lost :P

hehehehheh
I lost the interest in lost in first season when i got to know that it will be an unanswered till end.
Thinking to go for pan labyrinth today or godzilla 2014

I can't say as I've seen them either, I heard very mixed reviews of godzilla but I'll probably end up watching it eventually just for bryan cranston
But for now it's 8am and I haven't gone to bed yet, goodnight! Or good morning, or good day :)

Good night
here its after noon

@AnkitSharma Yeah, Godzilla definitely, recently rewatched that some days ago, after having seen and loved it in cinema.
Though I haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth, yet, I admit.
@MrLore Well, the bad reviews are mostly from people who expected a boring 2-hour orgy of monster porn, instead of some more subtle and effective use of Godzilla (afterall he features in like 20 minutes overall footage only, I think).
@MrLore Good night, and good luck!
@AnkitSharma I'm also not a big Lost enthusiast, since exactly this lack of answers pissed me a bit at some point. That's why I only actually liked the independent "murder of the week" X-Files episodes instead of the whole overarching storylines.
In fact that's what J.J. promised with Fringe, to concentrate more on episodic entertainment rather than series spanning storylines, but I'm not sure to which degree he's kept that promise, but haven't seen much of Fringe anyway, I admit.

Q: Identify this video song

Hi_DaddyFew days back I saw a video song (american video song). I like the video very much. But the sad part is, I don't know the name of the song or the artist performing in it. I didn't get the chance to see the full video. Maybe I saw it from a minute after it got started. I love this video song. I do...

Q: Movies were common activities are filmed as if they were epic

kikitoI am trying to find movies where a common activity is filmed as if it was way more epic than it really is (usually with a comedic intention). As an example: a guy could be just drinking coffee while the camera pans around, makes slowdowns and dramatic shots of the mug, his eyes and his mouth, wh...

Currently i am not into going into anymore TV series.....lack of time. Only want to complete naruto. So movie time now.

11:12 AM
@MovieReel Ugh, this guy again. @ChristianRau Best to not engage.

@Walt Yeah, I didn't know it was him and in fact the question, albeit off-topic, is actually sane and reasonable and of not the worst quality, so I'm still not sure it's really that idot.

Sometimes a troll wears many disguises. :(

But maybe @iandotkelly has further measures to investigate the situation, like IP comparison or such things.

I quit Fringe after the pilot, BTW. It's bad enough that this seems like a direct X-Files rip-off (they might as well have called it a reboot or a modern adaptation), but the nonsense with the cow was the final straw. :P
Watched it with a friend and we just laughed at the idiocy of it all. Never a good sign (especially since we love TV and intriguing pilots)

11:32 AM
@AnkitSharma Well, they recently started Arrow season 2 here so I'm hooked for this (and maybe Under the Dome season 2), and I'm currently catching up with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and have long planned on checking out the universally loved Firefly some day.

@ChristianRau There's always a chance you saw that IASIP ep and forgot. They all blend together after a while: the gang gets an idea, they go insane, they start setting people on fire... ;)

And I'm still far from finishing my Miami Vice rewatch, but I've layed that on halt currently.
@Walt I saw it a long time ago, when they aired like only the 2nd and 3rd season on TV on Comedy Central. But in my current rewatching mania of all the seasons, it was really only this single episode I didn't watch (because it was somehow missing in my, ehem, inofficial sources).

Bummer. The callbacks on this show are usually good
@MovieReel A movie about a talking pie that lasts forever sounds amazing... Though what it really needs is a robot driving instructor that goes back in time. [Sorry, I just had to :P]

Yeah, and he has to decide if his best friend should live or die.

:)
Saw Animal Kingdom for the 1st time. Pretty good.
Also saw The 25th Hour (somehow missed it til now) which a friend swore is the best movie ever. Merely found it good-ish.
(it's hard to fudge up a 'final night' plot anyway, they're usually very engaging)

11:42 AM
The Anthony Quinn war drama from the 60s or the Spike Lee/Edward Norton drama from 2002 (ah, wait, I see, the latter)? Don't know the former, but the latter I remember to have enjoyed, quite an Edward Norton enthusiast.

Latter. And I hate Norton, which is probably why I avoided this film for so long. :) Sorry.
(well, hate is a strong word, i just don't like his mellow, laid back performances)

Well, he has some amazing movies on his credit, American History X, Primal Fear, Fight Club, ...

Brad Pitt is amazing at picking scripts too, but I can't stand him either (sorry again...)

@Walt Well, to each his own.

Only had some minor issues with 25th, namely Norton (though he's actually better than usual there), the dialogue which wasn't always airtight and the background music which sometimes drowned it for no reason

11:51 AM
@Walt To admit I don't have too much specific recollection of the movie. I only know that I watched it at some night on TV and really enjoyed it (but this doesn't have to mean much, as I tend to like pretty much anything, being quite a merciful critic).

Pitt is just always upstaged by everyone else in his movies. And he's always chewing on something and making weird faces and gestures, I just don't get him. But again, the guy (or his agent) definitely knows how to pick'em.
@ChristianRau Brutal critic, myself. But you probably noticed that. ;)
I think I was just spoiled. Raised on classics film-wise and on 90's TV which was not only awesome and entertaining but also clever. So I always kinda expect everything to click perfectly, especially in the script department.
...Yes, I probably need some professional help. :)
Animal Kingdom recommended, anyway, though it's pretty stark. Nice, subdued turn from Guy Pierce.

@Walt I haven't even heard of that before.
Talking Guy Pearce I'd be interested in The Rover, but I guess there's rather low chance to pick that up at the local cinema.

12:07 PM
@ChristianRau Jacki Weaver was nominated for an Oscar as the mom. She's quite chilling in it.
@ChristianRau Same director too :)
(haven't seen it yet)

Q: Woman is chased into a morgue with floating bodies

rayneThis is a film I've seen as a child, and it obviously has haunted me for quite a while. I still haven't found out its name, so I wonder if someone here might be able to help. Here's a rough outline: A woman is being chased by a menacing guy. First, she hides under a steel table, I think sh...

Q: How does they film Beheading of person?

vj1207How does they film Beheading of person, like Beheading of Ned Stark in Game of Thrones? It was pretty clean beheading. More eg. are like in Spartacus there was lot of Beheading with blood sprinkling from person necks these all look pretty realistic.

Q: Nash Bridges Music in "internal affairs"

chinatownI'm a big fan of the TV show "Nash Bridges", from Japan. Could anyone tell me the name of the music played in the ending scene (In the bar, after the case was closed.) of the episode "internal affairs" (Season 2),please? Thanks.

3:25 PM
@Walt Haha, interesting find. But I'm one of the 2 people on earth who haven't seen a single episode of Breaking Bad anyway, yet. While I plan it, I haven't found the motivation to indulge in this 60-something episode epic. But still, cool easter egg.

who is the 2nd?
You should be hanged for this crime

@AnkitSharma Maybe me... until now. I only started watching it last week. Started on season 2 yesterday.
Some people told me season 1 was the weakest, though at least one said the opposite. I found it rather slow and a bit bare, with some highlights (like the 'not intervention'). What did you think?

3:41 PM
WHAAAT? A new Blade Runner? Meh, not sure what to think about this, even if Ridley Scott is involved. But I don't know anything about it for now. Sequel? Prequel? Or, most likely, Reboot?

@ChristianRau I think a lot of franchises keep making sequels\reboots etc. just so the studio\company can keep the rights and they won't expire.
@ChristianRau Oh, Blade Runner... I though you meant Blade. :/

@Walt Well, I wouldn't be worried about Blade so much, since I don't have much interest therein and it already has a bunch of (not too useful) sequels anyway. And the first one wasn't really an untouchable classic anyway (though, still pretty good).

I'd rather Ridley Scott not be involved, really, after Prometheus.
(And after all the films he's made since 1992, if I'm really honest...)

@Walt breaking bad is a slow start but a great end. The best thing about breaking bad is it have proper end not like Dexter shit or any other shit.
Good character development which i always search for.

Thanks Ankit. No spoilers though! :)
Holy crap, I'm not the only one who saw Dexter til the end then?

3:52 PM
There is a planned prequel for breaking bad too but its premises will be a very partial spoiler to you. Better avoid it.

I know it's with Odenkirk

@Walt i was the only one which liked season 7 but 8 was too much for a fan like me.

@Walt Well, another one that I found quite good. Sure, by far not the masterpiece everyone expected, but an overall interesting thing with great atmosphere and style, and an amazing character played by Michael Fassbender, whom I love admire.

They ruined dexter and their are rumor they can come back again

@AnkitSharma God I hope not

3:54 PM
I hope i have watched Blade runner earlier because now it looked too old to me and can't enjoy it.

Yes, season 8 was an abomination. Turned me against the whole show, which up until then I considered passable mainly due to Hall, and after which I regretted ever watching this dreck. It was even worse than season 6, and that's saying something
@ChristianRau Really don't remember much from Prometheus other than the c-section scene. I couldn't make heads or tails of it. It just seemed redundant; if you revive a classic franchise like that (ignoring AVP crap), it better be for a good reason i.e. a first-rate script, and it wasn't.
I'm being very negative today... :( Erm. I rewatched Safety Not Guaranteed and it was still charming. :)

@Walt Well, I'd rather see it not so much in relation to Alien, which it wasn't so much anyway. Sure, not the best or most original script maybe, but some interesting parts, especially the whole David character was much more fascinating than the more "obvious" questions about all that Engineer-stuff.

Probably the best thing about this film were the David trailers ;)

4:14 PM
To me prometheus was boring....i never liked alien franchise as a whole. Rather then alien film sequel, i like AVP more( ignoring AVP2).

@AnkitSharma Ouh ;-( (well ok, the first AVP wasn't that bad, but nothing compared to any Alien film). But to each his own.

@AnkitSharma Actually liked all the first 3 Alien movies, each for a different reason (1st one for the horror, 2nd one for the action, 3rd one for the bleakness. And let's just ignore the 4th.)
AVP... struggling to find something good to say. The lead actress was OK.

@Walt In fact it's an interesting aspect of the Alien franchise that it has produced movies in vastly different genres and styles (even if always remaining SciFi on the baseline), but each more or less excelling at their respective genre (and from notable directors of those genres each). I wouldn't disregard the 4th either, in its own quite weird way (well, Jean Pierre Jeunet afterall).

@ChristianRau True. Which shows that you don't always need to stick with the same director for your franchise (as long as the next director is an accomplished one, at least)
And as long as Giger's still around. [Well, was :(]
