Q: Why is the purple wedding called purple wedding?

WandangI get why the red wedding is called the red wedding but i do not get why the purple wedding is called the purple wedding. Which thing defined the color purple? The clothes were not (dominating) purple, the whine is red or at least i link it to red rather then purple. Could someone tell me ...

Q: Looking for a movie about a child-like alien?

wezOk, so this movie was one I rented (or rather my parents rented) from a local video store when I was a kid. It's either late seventies or an eighties movie and all I can remember is rather vague! There's this child who is being hunted by some mysterious dudes going around in suits, ties and sungl...

Q: Movie About "Dark Side Of Moon" From 90s & 80s

DigerkamI am trying to identify a movie about secret alien (technological) life on dark side of Moon; as I remember it was all like in a technological form, a secret lab or something like that in moon from aliens. It was early 90s or late 80s on TV. Do you remember anything like this? Thanks!

12:01 PM
@AndrewMartin There are sooooo many out there

12:35 PM
@meer2kat: Definitely. And then Pixar came along and added a whole bunch more in the mix. They're getting to the point where more effort must be going into the Easter Eggs than the stories :)

12:56 PM
@AndrewMartin I bet! Oh goodness. I assume you've read the Pixar theory?

1:11 PM
@meer2kat: All movies connected, all same universe? Definitely. Still, for all Disneys' talents, nothing beats the Rugrats theory ;)

@AndrewMartin Oh my goodness, the Rugrats theory is so intense haha!
@AndrewMartin Did you hear of the Frozen/Little Mermaid/Tangled theory and the Frozen producer's response to it? I flipped out a little.

@meer2kat: You would too, wouldn't you. People reading so much in to your work at every turn. It's fun, bit a little crazy too. Well, a lot crazy actually

@AndrewMartin But soooo fun haha! Tarzan mixed in to all that. Who woulda guessed lol! I bet they have a lot of fun messing with our heads

@meer2kat: Definitely. And we let them too. Still, when such subtle hints are dropped in here and there, no wonder some people spend all their time scouring these movies for EVERY last detail

@AndrewMartin Exactly! It's an addiction :) Which leads to more fun online and lots of questions for you to always answer first on SE ;)

1:24 PM
@meer2kat: I don't always answer first! Well, usually not :) I get bored at work, what can I say?! It distracts me for a while lol.

@AndrewMartin LOL I think it's an on-going joke that you do. It's been true for nearly every question I've clicked on. Though perhaps we just have interests in common and that's why. shrugs :D

@meer2kat: Quite possibly :) I dunno what my interests are. Sometimes I just take a fancy and research and answer a totally random question about a film I've never heard of. But most of the time certain questions (especially Disney) just grab me. We probably do have interests in common, most notably the world of Pixar (never released a bad film!!)

@AndrewMartin True story!!! Pixar is fantastic :D And yes, if I see anything Disney/ GoT/ Pixar/ Harry Potter/any of the fandoms I'm interested in, I have to open it just to see hehe!

@meer2kat: You've basically just listed all my favourite fandoms. GoT in particular, although the answers are often so long they take forever to write.

@AndrewMartin Don't suppose you're a fan of the Sherlock, Merlin, Firefly, Doctor Who crowd too?
@AndrewMartin GoT answers take a long time to write, but it's soooo worth it. They have so much depth to them, so many mysteries and theories, and so many little details worth noting

1:38 PM
@meer2kat: Yay, a bunch more of my faves :) Massive Doctor Who fan, but having mixed feelings about Steven Moffat lately. I didn't really like the 50th anniversary. It changed too much. The Doctor can't ALWAYS same everyone. This was the one time he couldn't, and have to be the killer... and then they went and changed all that and gave a happy ending?! Not my style. Firefly definitely. Can't believe it was cancelled so early.
@meer2kat: And GoT is just awesome. So long, so detailed and so much fun :) He does need to start writing the books a bit faster though!!

@AndrewMartin Haha see? Common interests. Lmao. I dunno, I like how Moffat always takes everything we know then rips our world (and often our hearts) in half. It makes for endless plot twists and allows him the creative room he needs to do literally whatever he wants (with great power comes great responsibility ;) )

Good to see there can actually be any reaction to a meta discussion apart from mod(s). Seems one just needs to put a link to it into a main-question (even if I'd never read a GoT question otherwise).

@AndrewMartin True story! I've started reading them. I'll admit it, for once I hopped on the show bandwagon before I got in to the book series
@ChristianRau I'm confused. What?

@meer2kat: He's definitely created some memorable stories, but half the bloody Dr Who time travel twists didn't even somewhat make sense! Still, I do keep coming back. But Tennant was my Doctor :) His plot twists are awesome. The book series for GoT are ten times more detailed than the TV series. You definitely need to get into them
@ChristianRau: Definitely. Just link GoT and anything will succeed :)
@meer2kat: It's a reference to this meta question -meta.movies.stackexchange.com/questions/1241/… about whether spoilers should be allowed.

@AndrewMartin Eh there are a few loopholes he misses. But you’ve got to admit, he manages to use those loopholes to his advantage in the end. Tennant was the best, but Matt Smith has some great lines. My text message ringtone right now is Matt Smith saying
@AndrewMartin “You’ve got a text message. Text messages are cool.” I downloaded wayyy too many Doctor Who ringtones all the way to the horse called Susan. I’m working on reading them now. According to my Kindle, I’m 30% through the first one. I might binge read…all of them over the summer.
@AndrewMartin Oh, that's a toughie!!

1:49 PM
@meer2kat: I bought the books and read them last summer. They're awesome and addictive, but they ARE slow. You can read an entire book and all a character has done is cross the sea, or travel from one city to another. It's always interesting, but definitely slow. Once he hit book three or four in the series, it got so long he started releasing the books broken into two parts. Definitely worth reading though :)
@meer2kat: As to spoilers, the question actually asks slightly more than that. Have a read and throw an answer in if you want. It doesn't matter what you rep is or anything like that. If you've an opinion on it, share it :D

@AndrewMartin Definitely :D I can't wait to get caught up.

@meer2kat: Plus the Internet will become a much safer place to peruse :) Spoilers are EVERYWHERE!

@AndrewMartin But really :( I found out something about Matthew Crawley from Downton Abbey when I was still catching up on the series. I looked up his name trying to get the actor's name. I figured it would pop up IMDB but instead it was a giant google set of a HUGE spoiler

2:04 PM
@meer2kat: I get that all the time with sporting events. I go all day trying to avoid a spoiler, accidentally google for an athlete's name rather stupidly and get the result spoiled for me. For TV series it's a killer. The internet is certainly dark and full of spoilers. In fact, if there's any TV series you're particularly interested in, you kinda have to watch it as each new episode airs or risk major spoilers

Dark indeed. Only problem with that is how often shows get cancelled!!! Like "The Cape" or "Heroes". Both got cancelled :(

What sports do you like?

@meer2kat: To be fair, in the case of Heroes it did seem to take a drastic quality change! I'll watch almost anything, but not as intently as I used to. American Football and football at the top of the list, but anything from golf to sailing to basketball gets a look in. Would much rather spend the weekend out with friends/reading/watching movies or series though. What about yourself? Any sports?

@AndrewMartin It was indeed!! American football and football (or soccer here ;) ) are my favorites as well. Though for soccer I mostly only watch the World Cup and prefer actually playing it otherwise. You watch sailing? I didn't know that was something people do!

2:20 PM
Yeah, they finally removed the stupid automatic Community Wiki conversion. No more moderator flags after revising an answer too often. \o/

@meer2kat: I don't watch it often, but I do love sailing :) Still, on TV it's not as interesting. I like sports as I said, but it's down my list of priorities now. Many other things I'd rather do first :D
@ChristianRau: I am so very glad. I hated that community conversion.

@AndrewMartin Understandable :)

@meer2kat: Right, I had better actually get some sort of work done. I may be about later on and I'm sure we'll chat another time :) Laters!

2:36 PM
@AndrewMartin Definitely! Have a good time :)

Q: Does Jack Welker's hairstyle convey any meaning?

AlexKuznetsovJack Welker's hairstyle is different from his gang members', and probably different from anyone else's in Breaking Bad serial. Does his hairstyle have any specific meaning, like his status as a gang leader, or something about his background?

Q: Tomboy movie, the girl lives with her father, because her mother died

user9245So, I wamt to watch this movie, I watched it with my friends but it was a really good movie.
