Lets convert nulls to empty strings. Then the empty strings to nulls. Then back again. Then use the results in joins to 6M rows tables with no indexes. What can go wrong?

Q: Optimising an SP - Left Join against several big tables

Keith I have stumbled upon performance bottleneck due to LEFT JOIN against several big tables (approx. 6 million rows of data, consisting of 10 columns).
