By the way, was the MH370 equipped with ADS-B? Or was that switched off too? Some news reports stated that it did indeed have the ADS-B but was switched off along with other components like ACARS and the transponder. But I am not sure to what extent these reports are true.

MH370 was ADS-B equipped. It stopped transmitting. It is unknown whether it was switched of or a failure caused these systems to stop.
