@@MonicaCellio Is there a way to find out the IP of the person who keeps logging in as new users to ask that question about helping a postdoc write a book, so the person can be blocked from making new accounts? This person keeps creating new accounts and posting the same question repeatedly. I feel like this happened a few years ago with the same question, even.

@LaurenIpsum this spammer has been at this since 2015 and is doing some combination of moving around and/or waiting out the blocks. Please flag these as spam; spam-deletions provide signal to SE's spam-fighting tools. I'm sorry I don't have better news. :-(

@MonicaCellio I did flag it as spam and do so every time I see this moron. Just wondering if there's a better way. I can see we've tried. :)

@LaurenIpsum I've also talked to the maintainers of Smoke Detector and they're adding a pattern for this. So with luck, we'll see more, faster spam deletion on these in the future. (Smoke Detector is a user project, not SE code, that monitors new posts across the network for spam indicators. There are users who monitor Smokey's reports and swoop in to spam-flag posts when needed.)
