@MonicaCellio For some reason I never got the notification that I was pinged! The first two questions are very similar, differing (as you point out) in the newer one being more general. I remember raising a question on Meta about three questions (out of which at least two were sufficiently) "duplicate" but we never reached anywhere with that.

Can we not merge the two questions or something instead of closing either one of them as duplicates?

Of late I have been wondering...when do you really star a chat message?

@PraveshParekh The room sidebar is intended to be a collaboratively created mini-timeline of interesting room events for people who don't have time to read the entire chat transcript for that particular room.

In practice, it's more often used for things people said that we agreed with/thought were funny.

Q: Does the narrator sound childish?

I really apologize, this is something that just came to my mind (and while sitting on the toilet). There's no editing. The reason is, I'll remove the whole passage if the protagonist sounds childish. It's an experiment so I'm not really sure of the result. Harsh comments are welcomed. Ming ha...
