I have too much overtime and extracurricular stuff to find time to write.

I almost wish I had to commute to work, then I'd have an hour every day

my plan is to spend 11 months planning

that was my plan last nano, when I realized that my original nano wasn't going to work. I decided to spend the time outlining for this year. Fast forward a year, nothing got done.

I think I need to make some luck, by actually doing the outlining.

But I've been mulling over two different novels and I haven't figured out some important bits yet, so they can't really be outlined.

I was reading about Ragnarök earlier and felt inspired to create some epic world, but then I realised I didn't have time right now, mostly because I was at work. Hopefully I'll find some of that enthusiasm again

I'm finding it much easier to create the epic world than it is to create a compelling story that is set in that world.

my other idea is to create a story generation game, that writes the story as you play it. it was a great idea in my head. I think it could be amazing. I just need to plan it out properly

That would be amazing, if it worked.

I once tried to plan out an app that would let you write choose-your-own-adventure stories. Those are fun. They're like text adventure games, only, there's only one piece of state information: the paragraph/page number.

Outlining makes a huge difference.

I didn't have time to complete the outline this year, but I did a big piece of it in October.
