ttgtw - Btw Lisp has a few cool things so far
(setq x 10)
(setq y 17)
(print (+ x y)) ; 27
(print (- x y)) ; -7
(print (* x y)) ; 170
(print (/ x y)) ; 10/17
(print (type-of (/ x y))) ; RATIO
(print (* 35 (/ x y))) ; 350/17
(print (* 34 (/ x y))) ; 20
(print (type-of (* 34 (/ x y)))) ; (INTEGER 0 281474976710655)
Look at the different resulting type-of when doing divisions

@bazola That's interesting

says its only about 2000 lines of code

I don't buy that ^^

maybe that is just the machine learning part

@Phrancis lol :)

Hey I'm finally done with the big music project, I think I might have time to work on Cardshifter a bit. What would be best to use time for right now?
I'm thinking we need some "presentation" and other misc front-end web work to make it look nice and spiffy (and semi-organized) for when the ad goes live

8:30 PM
@Phrancis If you want to work on the HTML Client, we need a way to do more flexible modding.
Different games should be able to specify different HTML templates.

I believe Angular should let us fill in part of the file name for a CSS file (like we did for images) right?
<!-- card image -->
<div style="clear:both;">
    <div style="text-align: center;">
        <img style="width: 160px; height: 120px;" class="card-image"
             ng-src="images/cards/{{card.properties.imagePath}}" />
    </div>
</div>

@Phrancis It's not that easy if I remember correctly. @DanPantry probably knows more.
IIRC, the HTML files and stuff were resolved on compile time

Ah, and the images are at run time, right?

9:15 PM
exactly

I wish I knew more JavaScript. Maybe I should get a book about it, but damn there's just so many libraries

@Duga lol nice hair
I'll try and find a good AngularJS tutorial maybe that will help, since it's AFAIK the only JS library we're really using ATM, right?

OK good night!

@Phrancis That won't work, the css will be resolved when the browser loads the page before angular is executed.
The way around that would be to load the spreadsheet after angular loads (obviously not ideal)

Ah, I see

The other way is of course to load all spreadsheets
and then just pick the one you want

9:43 PM
That sounds way simpler

alternatively, since cardshifter uses webpack, you can use require.ensure to load modules at runtime asynchronously if you really want.

Is there any reason why I would really want to do that?

it sounds cooler.
also its good if you have lots of spreadsheet / to reudce pag load time.
...I'm not correcting that spelling

How many is "lots" of sheets?

That's up to you
if you have 5 but only want to use one
you can do that to lazy load them

9:47 PM
Either way, would page reloads be needed to change sheets, or is it possible to change them on-the-fly?

you can change them on the fly.
i think

Got any recommended reading on the topic?

No, sorry
it's not something i have done

OK, I'm sure it's out there a google or stack overflow search away

Someone has definitely done it before, so it's likely out there

A: Changing CSS dynamically AngularJS

captain_jim1Use ng-class. This will allow you to dynamically set classes. Additionally, you can use ternary operations with ng-class as seen here. I assume you have your classes defined in a style-sheet that is loaded into memory. .white{ color: #ffffff; } .black{ color: #000000...

classical stackoverflow
:P
"don't do that, do this instead"

Slightly different approach than I had imagined, but may actually be easier, maybe?

that is the "load all spreadsheets at once" approach

That definitely sounds like the least amount of headaches

it will be, it's the simplest

9:52 PM
What's the downside?

load time, but that isnt an issue until its an issue

Ah right. If it's not broken don't fix it.

10:48 PM
@Phrancis We may be using React in the future, but that also depends on what @DanPantry thinks.

@SirPython I'm not sure what I think has anything to do with it :P
I haven't contributed in a very long time.
I don't think it's fair for me to make a big decision for you guys lik ethat

11:07 PM
@SirPython Can you start a discussion issue on the HTML-Client repo? So we can discuss pros/cons of React vs. other things?
I'm all in favor of using the best/most advantageous libraries for the project but we just need to make up our mind so we can get around to working on it :)
