> @Zomis At your convenience, do you think you could write a small piece, paragraph or two, few bullet points or links, about the cutting edge Java-related technology we are using? Feel welcome to either add to the HTML file, or post in chat and I will put it in. Thanks!

@Phrancis where is your modified footer ?

Been tasked with making a cover of a Xmas song ... Much rather be working on code right now :(
@Marc-Andre Not committed yet, hold on :)

> Modified footer on page-template.html, and a few other odds and end

@Marc-Andre There, on that HTML file
Meant to push to develop. Oh well. No harm done.

Still not a real fixed footer. It's stuck in the content div
I'll try something on the contribute page and you could say if you like it or not (because it kind of mess up my idea to fill the white space in that page)
The footer is saying hello at the right of the content

That's cool, by any means if you know a better way, I'll be happy to put it in the other pages as well

1:37 AM
Cool!

I was really wanting to make the grey BG of the left nav to be flush vertically with the footer, not sure how easy that would be

Ok I'll try something

Hope you understand what I mean by "flush"
Kind of an American-ism

Well could you try to be more precise then maybe I did not understand correctly

Certainly
Simply said, I feel that if the bottom of the left nav background, and the bottom of the footer background were equal, that would frame the page in a nice way
Not sure if it would be best to just stretch the footer (and the left nav BG following it) based on the page content, or some other way, would be best

1:48 AM
Ok yeah I'll do it next.

Want me to open an issue for it, for tracking?

Small changes and new attempt at the footer

Got to go but I pushed some changes not finished but I've tried something at least
Night @Phrancis!

@Marc-Andre Night!

@Phrancis Hey good morning! Where not pushing in the same branch :P

Yeah I realized that lol
Got to go to work now though, talk from there

later!

> You could have a simple Java Framework too. I could easily implement a web server that run in a tomcat and re-use our HTML. I would not rely on Git Hub to provide something that we should do.
> We should add a quick ReadMe to get rid of the GitHub warnings and would be nice to explain what we are doing with it!

2:54 PM
hey @all

Hey @bazola !

And... back
Hey @bazola

i had a couple ideas for cardshifter, not sure if they are good ones or not. still trying to come up with something to make it special/set it apart from other TCGs

hey @bazola and @Phrancis

one idea was that we could simulate "classes" by allowing the player to choose 3 cards that they will always start with for a particular deck. The abilities of those 3 cards, and the fact that they would appear in every single match with that deck, would simulate the way that classes interact with each other. Possibly these cards could come in sets such that you have to choose all 3 cards from a certain set, or that you cannot pick cards from certain conflicting sets
by the way @SimonAndréForsberg, a while ago when I mentioned a few cards that were potentially going to be in Hearthstone.. turns out, they are all real cards. Even the one that puts a card in your opponents deck that deals 10 damage to him when he draws it! the new expansion comes out on Dec 8th

3:02 PM
@bazola That's not a bad idea methinks, would be interesting to try

@bazola huh, I am surprised. Will be interesting to see the new HS expansion.

the other idea that I had was to formalize certain deck archetypes. So instead of heroes, you would have deck types called Aggro, Control, Minion, Spell, whatever. And there would be sets of cards for each of those as well as the more general set of cards that can go in any deck

@bazola Perhaps now would be a good time to post some of these to the Q&A, while it's fresh on your mind? And then we can all contribute / suggest / review ideas about deck variations like that

i will try to do that today

3:10 PM
@Marc-Andre If you get a chance could you send a screenshot of the changes you made to contributors.html

@Phrancis I don't have the code at work sadly but I could download the zip and post the screencshot

If you get a chance, no hurry or anything. I would myself but this piece of crap browser never renders anything correctly.

@Phrancis Can't you use a browser-solution that renders websites in the cloud and then sends the result to your browser?

Do you know of one? Worth a try I guess, didn't know there was such a thing!

@Phrancis I don't know if they exist
You got your hopes up quickly there!

3:25 PM
Can you blame me? Anything but this freaking browser... here look:

@Phrancis Also fire-fire-something-wall?

3:40 PM
Yeah I don't have any control over that either :\

@Phrancis @skiwi They do exist. I just don't remember the links atm.

@Phrancis In before you get a job at the IT department, and then discover there's an even more important IT department out there

@skiwi I had a chance to walk over the IT area for the dept I applied to the other day. Man they have nice computers there

@Phrancis Did you had your interview yet?

Not yet...
I'm surprised they haven't yet, considering how slammed they are. But then again, that may be part of why they haven't, yet.

3:55 PM
@Phrancis That statement ;)

Q: Uber-newbie Java concepts

PhrancisI just yesterday started learning some Java. I wrote this piece and got some help from @Simon André Forsberg to refine it some. I added a few things since. It's super-simple but I just want to make sure I have a few concepts down before I move on to more complex things. Any constructive criticism...

5:28 PM
That ^^ was unexpected

Vote on all the things!

@skiwi LMAO that's great.

7:19 PM
@skiwi When it's nothing, you have to figure out things on your own.

@SimonAndréForsberg When it's nothing and you need to do it yourself well they could have used another example.

@Marc-Andre When it's nothing you have to work to get some

@SimonAndréForsberg No I was trying to imply another sexual activity without mentioning it :P

@Marc-Andre I think he got the reference ;p

Wasn't that the same reference as I made?

7:26 PM
I'm so tired oh gosh sorry!
I was thinking it was a direct reply to my message but it's a rewording ! Sorry I'm lost in my headers between a camel route and an activeMQ queue

Does anyone in here do JavaFX?

8:17 PM
^^ @Phrancis
Be back in a minute rebooting

@Marc-Andre That's starting to look really good! Will it be a simple matter to move them around? I was thinking of putting @bazola at the top with Simon since they are the main game developers

@Phrancis That is so easy to do :P

Good

The footer is still not fix at the end of the page though. I'll fix this tonight

OK Do you think the footer would look better left-justified instead of centered?

8:35 PM
It's hard to place, I used centered since it was easy and the previous placement was buggy when minimized. But it does look weird centered with no back-color and that close to the text.

I think centered makes it too browser/resolution dependent...

The Elder Scrolls Online is being at least as awesome as Skyrim
Except that the interaction with physics is way less, but that's because it's an MMORPG :)
Visually it still looks great

@Phrancis It will not be browser dependent but is definitely resolution dependent. Everything in boostrap is by default resolution dependant

@Marc-Andre Ah I guess Bootstrap is intentionally made like that, then. Probably a good thing, I can live with small inconsistencies for the sake of compatibility.

You can have rules to manage what will happens at each size!

8:50 PM
Wouldn't you need to have a rule for each and every possible size, though? (including mobile, tablet, etc.)

No, you can have special rules for range of resolution. You should read the boostrap documention its quite helpful

9:12 PM
Finally, JMS headers does not take "complex" objects. I just had to do a toString() one day down the drain

1 hour later…
10:15 PM
@Marc-Andre FYI, I'm about to get an additional contributor profile over to you.
Will post the HTML here

10:34 PM
@Phrancis No trouble! Make sure you follow the "structure" for the contributor content.

Yes sir
