12:25 PM
drat - I was somehow convinced that Smitten Kitchen has a recipe for a sour cream cherry pie
not only is there no sour cream cherry recipe there, she doesn't have any sour cream pie at all, even with other fruit
now I have to look around for a recipe
most that I found are using industrial pie filling

1:00 PM
The images that the phrase "industrial pie" bring to mind are amusing.

Is your native language left-associative? (Sorry, I don't know what you speak. Urdu?)

1:39 PM
Possibly somewhat related to associativity in language:

Tamil
and our grammar is very similar to english

Hi foodies

@rumtscho I'm one country to the right, and all the way to the bottom right from Urdu ;p
language wise

Geography is one of the areas I wish I knew better, but never find time to study it :(

2:21 PM
@rumtscho what was your original idea?
@Ramanujan foodies? Only one adjective that describes the usual crowd here ;-)
@TomW works in German, too.
Or the famous "Commas save lives!":
Let's eat, grandpa!

@Stephie ha I thought the German approach was to just jam a sentence's worth of words together into one big word

@TomW for nouns, yes....

2:49 PM
@rumtscho never mind, I saw your question.

3:09 PM
I am starting to feel the effects of the mango shortage now. Luckily Stockmann still has good quality frozen mango. And then there is dried mango from the Philippines. That is good too.

>_>
@MatsGranvik mangos are seasonal >_>
granted, since there's more places that grow it, the seasons you can get em are longer if you arn't picky

@JourneymanGeek Yes I guess they are. But it bugs me that the frozen mango that I buy is not good quality. They cut it raw and it tastes raw. It would be better if they cut production in freezing factories. But I guess they need their salaries too, and therefore continue to produce frozen mango even if it is raw.

"raw" = unripe?

3:34 PM
Why do we eat cooked food when we can just eat delicious fruits?

3:50 PM
@Ramanujan philosophical question?
Because large parts of the world have times when they look like this?
And because after a winter walk outside I prefer hot cooked food over a delicious apple (which unless coming from CA storage might have started to get slightly soft by now).

2 hours later…
5:44 PM
@Stephie Ooh, nice.
We haven't had any snow that stuck yet.
Only for a few hours.

Enough to force us to get up earlier and sweep the sidewalk...
And to go sledding.
Worst part: de-icing the car after a -12C night.
(Not to mention literally freezing the a* off afterwards.)

I actually gave up on the car yesterday, walked instead
Doesn't help that I don't have a scraper, I use an unwanted credit card

@TomW Not an option.

Well ordinarily yes I get that, but yesterday's instance was mere laziness

I mean, I drive 25 km to work.
So it's scraping or working from home.
@Cerberus, haven't met you here in ages. How are you?
