12:04 AM
Yeah, it's terrible.

But for everything there is a flip side.
"Look sir, droids!"
I am watching the original for the first time in a very long time.
$20 for the privilege.

12:20 AM
The Life of Brian?

no :)

Oh...

the original Star Wars
But very close, really.

Haha.
I see.

Monty Python looks very good as Han Solo.

12:27 AM
Can one eat too many marshmellows?
I don't feel so good.
Called spek in Dutch.

No, but marshmallows are infamous for that.
I might like ODing on marshmellows

Are they?
I am nauseous and I can't think clear.
But I'm also extremely tired.

These are not the droids you're looking for.
Arrgghh
Rest

I feel the way I used to feel as a child when I exercised without eating in the morning.
But that was probably hypoglycemic.

And know that someone so far away cares about you.

12:34 AM
Aww.

I can't help it.

Can hyperglycemic feel like hypoglycemic?

As a matter of fact, yes.

Oh, I didn't know.
And is that bad?

Probably not.
Sleep

12:36 AM
I couldn't, not now.

what??
really?

Not sleepy.

what time is it for you?

2:37 AM.
I could probably get to sleep if I weren't feeling so weird.

You are officially worse than me.

12:37 AM
Thank you.

You're welcome.

Typing is somewhat difficult, mentally.
I took an aspirin, that normally worked.
Well, paracetamol.

Typing is a big problem for me anyway.

I know.
But physically, right?

A pill?
One??

12:39 AM
Yes.
Yes, one.

Impressed?

I don't understand this "one" thing.
how does that work??

Haha.
You always take several?

just joking. :)
Two, actually.
Oh man.
Pretend you don't know me.

12:44 AM
I definitely don't know any of you.

Good thing.

Two is not a lot.

Nope, four can be quite a bit though.
Kidding again, I don't play that.

4 is still not dangerous...

As a rule.
depends upon the pill!

12:49 AM
Oh, well, I meant the standard pill.

oh OK...*standard*

That is, I have never seen any quantity other than...I don't even know what it is.
Do you have different pills?

me neither, but I am enjoying Star Wars!
Na.
I'm just funning.

My mind is still a swamp.

hmm...
all heads?

12:53 AM
All.
The paracetamol should now begin to affect me.

that sucks!!

Even reading is more difficult.
Very weird.

well, you can go to bed
Stranger things have happened

My central analytic faculties are still operational, if slow, and they say it is probably hyperglycaemia caused by too many marshmallows plus sleep deprivation.
Nay, this would be too strange!

there ya go

12:56 AM
You know this feeling where your hands look somehow strange when you look at them?

Yep, but it's usually my feet.

Hmm.
What do they look like then?
Luckily, I'm wearing socks.
One even without a hole!

curiouser and curiouser
now what??

Okay, one has ehm.
One of those patches?
A semi-hole, where the sock becomes semi-transparent?
The other has an actual hole.

patches?nope

12:58 AM
Not really patches.
What do you call those?

only as nicotine delivery systems

I have no word for them in Dutch or English.
Haha, no, no.

which I don't do.

Nor I.

but I used to. I'd rather be me, today.

1:02 AM
That is good to hear.

yes.
click....boring conversation....
he is sooooooooo young.

Wait, what? Who?
Are you on a certain website?

What?
Really??
Star Wars...

Oh, I know it not.

geeks forever
NO!
OMG, really?
1977
Into the garbage, fly-boy!

1:07 AM
I presume you are quoting again...

sort of!
There is something alive in here!

Not where I am...

heee
You're not properly ticklish.

Mind. Blurred.
Although I think it's slightly better now.

You must fix the worst of it.

1:14 AM
I did all I could think of.

You know I love you, but to not have seen Star Wars is unacceptable.
This is crap of which I will not put.
Or something
trust me
watch it

1:46 AM
Haha.
I once saw part of a film, as a child.
I haven't read Harry Potter either.
I am not currently in a phase where I would appreciate them.

hmmmm...
I'm currently bawling my eyes out.
Star Wars just ended.
Harry Potter is also special.
in a different way, but I really love them both
"Unless you'd like to stay, of course."
I can't imagine being without either one.
Hi Tweedle:)
I just looked up.
Boring conversation???
oops
not you

2:04 AM
brushing teeth takes a long time with three mouths and dog feet

you are still awake??

Of course!

I think I feel better now.
What's your current bed time?

do you realize that it is 6pm here?
earlier than now.
or later
same diff
I refuse to acknowledge any of you.
so there

2:11 AM
Is this the Dutch pot speaking? Because you sound pretty Dutch.
Meanwhile, it's 4:12: bed time!

Hmmm....5:12 here.
G'night!
Next time I see you, I will make you crazy with Star Wars references.
Harrison is younger than me here.
No way.

12 hours later…
1:56 PM
morning :)

hello @rfusca
I'm glad to see you again. How are you?

@rumtscho doing well :)
just crazy busy
how are you?

same old, same old. Juggling dissertation, job, and personal life.
at least a long period of "I feel I'm doing nothing" ended at the job, I'm now creating some cool new functionality, and that's fun

thats always good :)

@rfusca what about you? Is something of the stuff which keeps you "crazy busy" also exciting?

2:13 PM
just a mix of work, life and church
do a lot of stuff for church

ah yes, how was your conference? It has been a while, but I haven't seen you in the meantime. Did you attend the talk of this guy you wanted to see?

it was pretty incredible

@rfusca yes, the video loads and I see four comments. I don't have a Facebook account myself, but it seems to be a public post.

thats one of the shows they did there

I'll have to watch it later though, I'm at work and share an office with 3 coworkers, so I try to not watch any videos, unless really work related.

2:20 PM
Thats the speaker I wanted to see

And what kind of stuff does your church do where you're involved? Do you celebrate Pentecost, or is this a Catholic thing?

We don't specifically have a special service for it or such
running a sunday service from a production aspect is like putting on a concert everywhere
err every week

you must have quite high standards at your church

we do, yes

wow, is this picture from the conference or from a service at your church?

2:27 PM
last weeks service

and you were the director?

every sunday

I've never seen such an elaborate church service, media-wise.
You're the director for such an event every sunday? I'm starting to understand the "crazy busy" part better.

oh, we're definitely not anything particularly special lol we're probably at the top of the middle tier
yup, I manage all the video, lights, stage design, media, lyrics and coordinate with the sound team

@rfusca for American standards, maybe. I've only once seen a church use a beamer at all.

2:30 PM
lol gotcha

It was at a wedding and the bride had insisted on pictures of her and the groom's childhood running in the background

watch that video I sent later - that church does that every weekend
they are at the top though - there's nobody up to their level but them
their director based all their service lighting, video and all that from his experiences at U2 concerts :)

it was also some kind of non-denominational church, which is very rare here in Germany. They met in something which looked more like a town hall's community center. Just a room with a stage in typical 20th century architecture. naked white walls and so.

yup, thats more common here
non-demon in a non-descript building

The churches here tend to look like this

2:32 PM
right
some still do here
but people are generally flocking to the other kind

and nobody is doing light shows in them. There are just the permanent lights, and the candles lit by visitors

that church the conference was held at? 20k people per weekend

@rfusca wow. This is totally unlike my idea of a church service

ya, would be odd to see a light show in that atmosphere

Sure, on large holidays like Easter and Christmas, there can be thousands of people flocking to the Nevski cathedral in Sofia
but they don't all fit inside, so many just stand on the square in front of it and celebrate there

2:35 PM
well, they seat about 4k and run 5 services on the weekend
we run 2 and we're about to add third later this year if the growth stays steady

@rfusca yes, I see why technically, it's comparable to a concert

yup

two services? You mean you stagger them in time so people can pick one which fits their schedule best?

yes

Is the content the same in the two services?

2:37 PM
we have one at 930 and one at 11
yes
the same

I think that in the Orthodox church, cannon prescribes at which time to have a service, and each of the services has a prescribed "purpose"
although I'm not 100% sure. Maybe I should go ask on StackExchange :)

so we'll probably add one at 1230
and we're adding cameras soon and streaming the service online to watch
which, i'll also be managing overall

And this beside being a full-time DBA and commuting for hours per day? And having little children? I cannot imagine where you are getting the energy from, but kudos

Q: Are the services in the Orthodox churches regulated by canon?

rumtschoI just learned that some non-denominational churches in the USA have multiple services each Sunday. They appear to offer the same content, just having different times so they can accommodate a larger audience with differing schedules. This surprised me a lot. I was under the impression that chu...

@rumtscho thanks :)
like I said, "crazy busy" lol

and did you get some new ideas from the conference which you're going to implement in your own church?

2:48 PM
@rumtscho yup :) just a variety of little things
the speaker I was really looking forward to, Whit, gave a talk called "10 things I wish I knew before I started doing art in church" - it was really good
art as in creative things, not painting

@rfusca and did the ten things surprise you? Or had you already learned them the hard way too?

@rumtscho I wouldn't say surprise me, but they were well stated
for example, he said that art works better as a mirror than a microphone. Use the art to get somebody to relate to the situation and create understanding - not to drive home a preachy message
he talked about the slow integration needed if you want to transition to a more modern service. You can't be singing 1600s hymns one day and then have a U2 show the night weekend (people try to do that :O ! )
@rumtscho upclose pic of the stage

3:04 PM
@rfusca yes, I can see why you value his talks

the lights on the floor shining out are movers - so they swing up and down and such
