I actually slept last night...at night. It's 6am, and I've had a full night's sleep. Wonders never cease.

@rumtscho Well, tomorrow is Thanksgiving here, which is our biggest food holiday, so this week has been insane.

And I live in kind of a warm resorty area, so we just get busy all winter.

Oh, I forgot Thanksgiving. Around here, people are just getting into the hot phase of Christmas cookies baking.

Also the Weihnachtsmarked opened two days ago, I haven't visited it yet.

For some reason, it's Thanksgiving that always makes me miss family in a homesick kind of way. I don't have particularly warm and fuzzy Thanksgiving memories, and the traditional meal doesn't do anything for me (except for dressing and gravy). Yet, being away from family on Thanksgiving always bothers me.

@Jolenealaska the sides and sauces are the best part. I mean, turkey? Bleh.

Even the sides are a bit meh to me :) Sweet potatoes with marshmallows? Who came up with that crap?!

CN is depressed about it because the family he would usually join for the holiday is out of town, so he wanted to spend Thanksgiving with me. Sorry, no.

That would bring the day from bad to worse.

I will cook something fun just to cook, but it won't be Thanksginingy.

Like maybe a fancy cake or something.

I could still change my mind, just do a chicken instead of a turkey for CN and me. With dressing, gravy, green bean casserole (which actually can be good if you don't use condensed soup) and something other than pumpkin pie for dessert. I still have a can of that funny cranberry sauce that I never opened last year.

But..I don't think so. I think the day calls for ordering a pizza and doing some solitary drinking.

Isn't that every Thursday? Or indeed week day?
