@Mien Yay!

13 hours later…
2:34 PM
Hmmm. The sourdough starter still isn't behaving. If it hasn't improved by this weekend, I think I'll just toss it and start over...

@derobert :-(
Do you have a friend with a good starter who can share?

@SAJ14SAJ expatriates

@Jolenealaska Bah :-)

Public sht man

@Jolenealaska ??

2:36 PM
@SAJ14SAJ Nope... But I suspect this one would have gone fine, had I fed it twice daily

your last post

@SAJ14SAJ You typed "ex-patriots" when you meant "expatriates" cooking.stackexchange.com/a/37631/6317

@Y
@Yamikuronue
Thank you
I know it's a very small thing, I just care because it would bug the hell out of me. Anal and obsessive...I know

2:51 PM
Hi!
I had a very weird dream.

@Cerberus You tried @SAJ14SAJ's cheese on Chinese stir-fry?

You @SAJ14SAJ and you @derobert were in it.

Hi! Dreams are a specialty

Not that weird!
Okay, here is what I dreamed.
I think I was SAJ's icon: I moved and behaved like a cat. Derobert was a tiny prawn, as you buy them frozen.
Derobert was suspended from a spider's thread, because he couldn't fly.
Because I/SAJ was a cat, I playfully kicked him out of the air, and he fell down.

but were you naked?

2:54 PM
He was wet, so we rinsed him and left him to dry on a paper towel.
Then he could fly!
The end.
I actually dreamed all this.
@Jolenealaska Alas, no!

I stayed awake for this?

Yeah! I'm a flying prawn.

@Jolenealaska Ehh I'm so sorry.

dammit

@derobert Absolutely! Or more like levitating.

2:57 PM
This calls for some quick work in GIMP...

where is @SAJ14SAJ? We sent him to fix one small error...but now he seems to be lost.

Oh nooo...
x2

now what?

Now: We dance. salsa

Morning all, last week of work for me.

3:01 PM
Have you read meta lately? (the SA version) maybe it's just me, but I think it's funnier than hell. What to do about kevin?

dances

If you're wondering, it starts with the title " I think we need an anonymous lurker badge"

Haha what?

It would take too long to explain...check out SA meta
really
or I just find it ridiculously funny

Hmm.

3:08 PM
That's it??
No rolling??
I'm laughing so hard I can barely type!

Well, I'm not sure that very line is funny enough to make me roll over.
Also no dog treat.

so did you read the the thread?

Not yet...

ok.....i'
ll wait

Wait, so it was your proposal!
Haha.
I thought it was this mythical Kevin.

3:13 PM
the funny thing is thedude1

@Jolenealaska I work for a living from time to time. We are planning a huge go live.

Quite.

@Yamikuronue I cannot actually spell :-)

Perhaps he is a frozen sock puppet waiting for the Day of Judgement?

There you are @SAJ14SAJ, now that a search party no longer seems necessary...good night all

3:17 PM
Night!
(Isn't it like 9 am for you btw?)

@Cerberus I think this counts as a GIMP failure :-(

Haha.
It looks like you, but a bit too yellow.

Yeah.

Still nice work.
Although in my dream I have to say you looked more like this:

You sure that's a prawn, and not a shrimp?

3:30 PM
Uhh...
What's the difference?
I thought one was American?

That's what Google tells me, at least.
Wikipedia says otherwise...
Just make sure not to substitute one of these guys:

Wow.
Is that a scary lobster?

Crayfish/crawfish/10 other names

Right.
I really have no idea what the difference is between all those animals.
All I know is that lobsters have those claws.
Called scissors in Dutch, I think. Or maybe not.

They're related to lobsters, but much much smaller.
Astacidea is a group of decapod crustaceans including lobsters, crayfish and their close relatives. Members The infraorder Astacidea comprises five extant superfamilies, two of crayfish (Astacoidea and Parastacoidea), one of true lobsters (Nephropoidea), one of reef lobsters (the genus Enoplometopus), and a number of fossil taxa. , the group contains 782 recognised species, over 400 of which are in the family Cambaridae. The members of the infra-order Glypheidea (containing numerous fossils and the two extant species Neoglyphea inopinata and Laurentaeglyphea neocaledonica) was formerly i...
And you can find an episode of Good Eats on how to cook them.

3:40 PM
Lobsters are big. Crawdads look like tiny lobsters. Shrimp and Prawns taste different than lobsters.
I can't speak to the taste of crawdads however
Crabs are altogether different. And if you find yourself with a bivalve, you've definitely mixed up your terminology someplace

Hmm...
Right, crabs look very different.

Triple bonus points for being sent to the fishmonger in search of crawdads and coming home with abelone

Haha.
Oh, shh, she's sleepwalking.
guides Jolene to corner of room

hurries after with a pillow and blanket

Why don't you sit down, dear, while we paint funny faces on your face. You're asleep anyway.
Oh, you're so much better at this.

3:47 PM
Yeah, yeah, yeah

It talks!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a very lively specimen of the genus somnambulans.

yeabh, yeah, yeah

@Cerberus I don't think that's a genus...
I think its an order.

yeah, yeah, yeah

Or maybe a class.

3:51 PM
Jeez, I can still do that
Kingdom
subkingdom
phylum
subphylum'
class

subkingdom, what is this newfangled nonsense. When I was in school, it went kingdom, phylum, class, neat as you please

order family
genus
species
I don't know Y...Ask mrs Huddleson!
Stranger is that I can recite the books of the Bible, genesis to revelations....not willing to type it though

@derobert Oh, my apologies.

How 'bout the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales in Middle English? For the life of me though, I can't find my favorite shoes.
they're here somewhere
OOH 8am...decent TV
gnight!

Wowie.
Good night!
You're a late-stayer-upper, I like that.

4:14 PM
None of you fixed my typo, you just wanted to make fun of me... I know how this goes now!

Huh, what typo?

@Cerberus Hey Cerby. how you are?

Good, and you?

hungry, but lunch will be delivered soon. I am very, very, very busy at work.
We have a new HR system going in in about 10 days.
And that affects the systems and business processes that I own profoundy.
@Yamikuronue We are all cladists now!

4:33 PM
Oh, dear.
And they will blame you if it all comes down in a tumble?

@SAJ14SAJ I came here for one reason (back then)...to let you know that you had a typo to fix. I even tried to be subtle.
I failed
but it wasn't for lack of trying

Okay, are you my twin?

Maybe

You a) go to bed very late, and b) keep coming back when you were supposed to be in bed. Not that I don't appreciate it.
It's just like watching myself, an out-of-body experience, or what do they call those?

you're not the first man to suggest such things

4:38 PM
Really?
It's not specially manly.

You only say that because you're not near my bed.

You're very subtle.

Anyone else feel like they're spying on drunk texts? ;)

Me!

@Jolenealaska You are clearly exhausted, get some sleep :)

4:41 PM
woosh That was Jolene's saviour flying in.
Why don't you grab her with your talons and carry her upstairs?

Funny thing, I was about to say the same...almost 9am, that'
s late even for me

Indeed! Here it's after lunch

Heh.
It's 6 pm.

I came in here for a reason.....

Which is...trying to find an excuse not to have to go to bed?

4:46 PM
that must be it

Then you have succeeded.

Oh my goodness...
Judge Perez has a very serious case
apparently
the cake decorator misspelled the name
I want to know who is going to pay for the counseling.
dammit....commercial break
Alright, the cake decorator is losing...This time I really am going to bed...Gnight! (day)

5:09 PM
Bai!

5:24 PM
Arf arf arf

6:07 PM
soy-free miso...
maybe with a nice side of citrus-free oranges and dairy-free butter?

@Yamikuronue Does that actually mean something? :-)
Yeah.

I found an article about soy-free miso
apparently made from chickpeas

@Yamikuronue I don't know in what universe that could be miso.

hence my sarcastic comment :)
gluten-free miso makes total sense, it all depends on what grain you ferment it with, but soy-free....

6:25 PM
My personal favorite is fat free cheese. What do people think cheese is made of?

Everyone at work is so impatient today
"Where's that fix?" "The one you just told me about last week? Ready in dev, but I can't promote, the servers are down." "Can this fix go tonight?" "Only if you want to give the release coordinator a stroke, he's already overworked. Tomorrow?"

You could sing "Happy Kitty" for them...
