It's fine to let people know about a new proposed site, and Area 51 is a good place for this, but chances are that not very many people here are interested in ancient scripts per-se

As I mentioned previously, go to the History.SE site and speak to the regulars there

Chances are either 1) there is room for ancient scripts under History.SE already, or 2) some people will show interest in that particular topic and help you out with your Area 51 proposal
