Q: How do I know what the will of God is, if I want to surrender to it?

Liam FrancisI've seen some mentions of complete self surrender, or for example Krishna's 'abandon all dharmas and surrender unto me'. Fine, suppose I decide to do that. How would I know what God's will is at any moment? Whatever I innately feel like doing? I can never know what God's will actually is, only w...

@KeshavSrinivasan Thanks for providing information.
The following article on Prasthanatrayi:
Prasthanatrayi (Sanskrit: प्रस्थानत्रयी, IAST: Prasthānatrayī), literally, three sources, refers to the three canonical texts of Hindu philosophy, especially of the Vedanta schools. It consists of: The Upanishads, known as Upadesha prasthana (injunctive texts), and the Śruti prasthāna (the starting point of revelation) The Brahma Sutras, known as Nyaya prasthana or Yukti prasthana (logical text) The Bhagavad Gita, known as Sadhana prasthana (practical text), and the Smriti prasthāna (the starting point of remembered tradition) The Upanishads consist of twelve or thirteen major texts, with a total...
says that
> All the founders of the three major schools of Vedanta, viz, Adi Shankara, Ramanujacharya, Nimbarkacharya and Madhva wrote bhāṣyas (commentaries) on these texts.
So, I was think that Ramanujacharya has also written Bhasyas on Upanishads.
But as you've clarified, Now I knew that actually he has written commentaries on Bhagavad Gita & Brahma Sutra
Yes, Finally I've checked:
Ramanuja (traditionally, 1017–1137 CE) was a Hindu theologian, philosopher, and one of the most important exponent of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism. He was born in a Tamil family in the village of Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. His philosophical foundations for devotionalism were influential to the Bhakti movement. Ramanuja's guru was Yadava Prakasha, a scholar who was part of the more ancient Advaita Vedanta monastic tradition. Sri Vaishnava tradition holds that Ramanuja disagreed with his guru and the non-dualistic Advaita Vedanta, and instead followed in the footsteps of Indian Alvars...
By the way Madhavacharya has written commentaries on prasthanatrayi right?
And how about that @KeshavSrinivasan ?

Q: Who travelled southwards first? Agastya or Parashurama

Vineet MenonIn Hindu Puranas, there are two mentions of southward spread of vedic civilization, one was by Agastya Muni and the other by Parashurama after he decimated 21 generations of Kshatriyas. Is it known about the chronological sequence of these two unrelated events?

Q: Is Allah(pbuh) male or female?

MaxAs the Islam says humans should not pray to anybody other than Allah(pbuh). It condemns worshiping idols. Islam says God is almighty, he has no form. My doubt is when there is no form, how can you define whether it is male or female? Allah(pbuh) might be a female goddess instead of referring Alla...

Amit SaxenaThis wiki article claims that there are 8 Shakta Upansihads or Upanishads worshipping Shakti. Which are these?

@TheDestroyer discussion on hinduism.stackexchange.com/q/10599/277
The question is about getting information about Hinduism not about getting scripture
@TheDestroyer ^^^
For getting/finding scripture visit this question.
Which is for finding/getting scripture with (Original) Sanskrit text with Hindi Translation.

11:55 AM
@Pandya but we get information only through scriptures. Do you mean general information or overall idea?

@TheDestroyer yes. visit first 3 website that I've posted in answer

@Pandya But still i'm not clear with what exactly you want in that question.

@TheDestroyer Question is about getting basic information about Hinduism
got it?
@TheDestroyer visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Hindudharma and tell what you get?
visit hindupedia.com and what you get?

@Pandya ok. You can remove my edits.

@TheDestroyer ok roll-backed. By the way If you know about any other site (which is not listed yet in answer) and provides helpful (and authentic) information about Hinduism, then it will be worth to expand answer!

Q: Leftover Kshatriyas after Lord Parshuram's sanitization

YogiLord Parshuram sanitized earth by killing kshatirya generations for 21 times. From what Dharma calls that the one who is humble and does not raise a weapon he should be granted sharanagati, & due to this Lord Parshuram would have been merciful to the Kshatriyas who surrendered to him. So accordin...

Q: How does western model of human evolution fit with Vedic literature?

user5155835As per western model of human evolution, modern humans are more advanced than our ancestors thousands and millions years ago. @Pandya Yeah, Madhvacharya did write commentaries on the Prasthana Traya. You can read his commentaries on the Upanishads here: archive.org/details/Sacred_Books_of_the_Hindus
@Pandya Personally, Madhvacharya's commentaries are my least favorite commentaries, because his interpretations do not at all accurately capture the meaning of whatever he's commenting on. Like if you look at his commentary on the Brahma Sutras, everyone will interpret a Sutra one way and then he alone will interpret it in a completely different way.
@Pandya And if you look at his scriptural quotes, you'll find in almost all cases that either the scripture he mentions doesn't exist anymore, or it does exist but Madhvacharya's quote is nowhere to be found in available versions of the text; see my question here:

Q: Where are Madhvacharya's Puranic quotes describing the path to Moksha?

Keshav SrinivasanIn verse 8.24 of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says this: Those who know the Supreme Brahman attain that Supreme by passing away from the world during the influence of the fiery god, in the light, at an auspicious moment of the day, during the fortnight of the waxing moon, or during the six months...
