@MartinRoryIngesen my stupid easy solution didn't work so no

@Ohnana What did you try?

@MartinRoryIngesen looked up the hashes, got a hit and used it as the admin credential

yeep
the fact that it didn't work led me to believe that this is a serious challenge and I don't have time to work it out

12:14 AM
I believe it has something to do with it. Although I'm not sure. I find the $input[0] + 0; line a bit wierd.
Yeah..
I kinda gave up myself.

That kid is a badass with a yoyo.

@MartinRoryIngesen i think that's part of it
there must be some way to zoink out the md5 function, and then adding zero casts it to int

@Ohnana Mm. I can think of a few ways to do it, but the line above kinda stops me dead in the track.
the 'identical' operator check is a real roadblock. I've tried with null bytes and double values, but nothing.

I found my new alarm clock. hackaday.com/2015/07/31/…

@DavidFreitag colinfurze is awesome!

@MartinRoryIngesen Hackaday is awesomer :]

I can agree with that!

I know :)

so apparently I'm one of the most fantastic new users of the month, according to this email
please make your checks for $5 million out to "cool people inc."

@DavidFreitag At least some part of it is not a yoyo, but a diabolo.
I'm not denying that he's good though. what the fuck.

@Arperum Eh?

@DavidFreitag It's not a yoyo he's playing with.

@Arperum I said that with the hope to elicit a link.

@DavidFreitag working on it.
The diabolo (/diːˈæbəloʊ/ dee-AB-ə-loh; commonly misspelled diablo) is a juggling prop consisting of an axle and two cups or discs. This object is spun using a string attached to two hand sticks. A huge variety of tricks are possible with the diabolo, including tosses, and various types of interaction with the sticks, string, and various parts of the users body. Multiple diabolos can be spun on a single string. == History and etymology == Diabolos evolved from the Chinese yo-yo, which was originally standardized in the 12th century. Chinese yo-yos have a longer axle with discs on either end, while...
Although he is doing it without the sticks.

@Arperum It's not a yoyo he's playing with ;)
the addition of two characters dramatically alters that sentence

Shame to those who accepted it too.

@Simon I actually don't have a problem with edits like that. It effectively resolves all of the spelling and grammatical issues with the post (save one) and it's on a current post, not an old post. The question is not good, but I think this edit is actually ok. //cc: @RoryAlsop

@Xander I agree with that, because the powers-that-be at SE removed the automatic conversion to Community Wiki after 10 edits.
In older times, one had to reject small edits because they were using a scarce resource.

@ThomasPornin Yes, I agree. And IIRC, allowing this kind of edit was exactly why they changed that behavior.

2:40 PM
I think it would have met minimum change requirement even before. But the real question is why is @Simon such a bitter donut lately :O

3:35 PM
hey hey the main site is in read-only....
could it be............
The
New

BTW chaps/esses I was looking at the HackOverflow prop. on Area51 and one of the points they have in favour of it's existance is that offensive questions are "off-topic" here, based on a meta Q I asked and no-one answered....
12
Q: Questions relating to use of hacking tools described in a non-hacking scenario

Rоry McCuneSo there's a couple of questions over on the main site that have either been closed or have multiple close votes that essentially (to me) talk about using "offensive" security techniques (as opposed to defensive) in a scenario where the questioner describes their usage as legitimate. A freinds f...

^ perhaps a mod or two could put a clarifying opinion on there as an answer, may help clarify things
(cough cough @AviD @RoryAlsop @schroeder @JeffFerland)

@RоryMcCune regarding hackoverflow: just goes to sHow the massive overlap between the two

@MartinRoryIngesen indeed, I've been commenting some of their questions that are on-topic here and indeed have already been asked/answered.
but I think they gain some drive from the lack of clarity on what's on-topic here
so perhaps the mods can clarify :)
I would but I'm an iconoclast in this sense

5:50 PM
@RоryMcCune amazing. You'll gave seen my Facebook post about last night... So that was pretty good:-). Today Hamish and I spent 4 hours at the gliding club so he got three flights, did his own landings and aerobatics, including a pretty good loop, and I'm now in charge of barbeque and hot tub. And I'm for feet from a keg of real ale, and 15 feet from a hog roast... And it's still 22 degrees and full sun
It's nae bad

@RoryAlsop \o/ sounds awesome :)

You have met Kat, haven't you? You and Marion should come some year. I think there's just over 50 people here this weekend

@RoryAlsop yeah I met kat, must've been at yours at some point, can't remember when but I do remember meeting her..
sounds like this year the place to be is down south!

At this point, I think the best solution is Welchia 2.0
Infect phones via the vuln, patch them automatically, spread itself to other phones, then delete itself
