@Tildal @David Whoa! You guys are talking about -16C and -10C!! It's +5 to +10 here these days. Freakiest winter so far in here.

@Adnan Dude it's freaking freezing here.
My phone still smells like factory-fresh electronics. I love that smell.

@Adnan This is pre-order. Wait for paperback. Or, if you like Randall, quit being a cheap-ass and support the guy. God knows he deserves it.

Wow. If you want DNSSEC records on your domain, your registrar options are severely limited. Kinda abysmal, really. https://www.icann.org/en/news/in-focus/dnssec/deployment
If you don't like dealing with shady companies, then too bad for you.

@tylerl Hover isn't in there. :(

Hover's offerings are ... lackluster.

@tylerl How so? I'm pretty happy with them.

Their service is fine. But their list of available features is somewhat lacking.

9:39 AM
@tylerl Ah maybe. My needs are pretty simple so I'm doing fine with them.

DS records is a glaring example. Their DNS service is too basic to be useful (A,AAAA,CNAME,SRV,TXT,MX... and that's it!).
When a domain is transferring in, you can't set up the DNS records that will be used after the transfer goes through
lots and lots of examples of problems Iv'e had with them.
their service is very very simple. If you want to do anything mildly advanced, you're SOL.

@tylerl Which registrar would you recommend? I just renewed my blogs with Hover not too long ago but I won't mind switching in the future or if I ever need other domains.

@TerryChia nuthin.
Godaddy has the most complete service. There's nothing they don't support. Network solutions is also very popular, but they actually deserve the reputation that godaddy has.
I noticed Dynadot in the DNSSEC list. I've never heard of them before but they seem to offer very comprehensive services and very low prices. But they're pretty new to the market.
Apparently they're the registrar for wikileaks.

@Adnan playing the mobile or the pc version?

@PatoSáinz Sadly, I cannot run it on my home computer (Ubuntu, and too slow for VM). So, I'm playing the mobile version.
It's quite fun. I've managed to eradicate humanity a few times so far.

@Adnan It's an awesome game, I love the genre (tho it's not much of an innovative game (re: Pandemic was before))

@PatoSáinz I rarely play games, but I had no idea it's an actual genre.

@Adnan destroy-humanity genre... I think Pandemic started it an Plague, Inc. borrowed it

Q: Can I rely on encrypted cloud services like Mega?

Yves DaoustThe Mega site claims that all submitted files are encrypted upon upload and decrypted upon download, and at no moment have they any knowledge of the decrypted contents. (I assume others sites do it too.) Enforcing such a policy has indeed the benefit of discharging Mega of any liability regardin...

^^^^ what do you think, ok for this site or too opinion-based or too vague?
