@Gilles I guess it does but is probably OT, it's basically asking for product howto e.g. securitygeeks.net/2012/11/…. And I'm not sure it'll work with onion sites, I can't find any library in it supporting the protocol. OK you could run it via Tor proxy (Vidalia), but I'm not sure it would handle .onion links. Maybe there's some plug-in for it? I'd close it as unclear what he's asking, and ask him to point to where it says that's supported.

@TildalWave I already VtC'ed. Please leave a helpful comment if you can.

Yep, totally making headphones with a pair of bone transducers.

@Gilles Done. I'm not sure how helpful it is tho :) And the user seems is not registered at all

1:21 AM
time for sleepings
night

10 hours later…
11:22 AM
seriously?
That's not a temp password, that's the password I set while registering on the site. Besides being unecessary and stupid, it's .... well.... stupid
It's a CTF FFS. A basic one, but a CTF. You. Do. Not. Use. Stoopid. Practices. When. You. Hold. A. CTF.

12:04 PM
@ManishEarth So you should hack the CTF instead of hacking at the challenges. :P

Maybe the CTF has already started

Hey @LucasKauffman (or any python guy), any experience with distributing libraries that rely on C files?

1:03 PM
@TerryChia I actually avoid libraries relying on C files

@LucasKauffman Heh. You won't like my AES-GCM code then. :P
I got it working fine. Just need to package it up and write some tests before I push it onto GitHub.

1 hour later…
2:31 PM
Good morning afternoon

@kalina Why are you still here? @ManishEarth has replaced you already!

no
I am irreplaceable

2:56 PM
Sets @ManishEarth on fire
Sets @kalina on fire
Sets @ManishEarth on fire

IMMUNE
and I don't even do the fire thing anymore

Sets @kalina on fire
Sets @ManishEarth on fire

@kalina Moved on to acid have we?

Nope... Moved on to idling

Sets @kalina on fire

2:59 PM
@ManishEarth Your next goal is to replace @ScottPack with a script.

You can't set me on fire

@TerryChia ah, I'll provide the API, you do the scottpack magic

I am immune to fire

I need to improve that randomizer, it seems to like choosing kalina and me

I should let you know that what you're doing is annoying me slightly

3:00 PM
@kalina Alright, I'll stop. It was a joke :/

@ManishEarth You need a script to string together words in a snarky manner.

I know it was a joke
That's why I'm all can about it
Calm, too
Stupid autocorrect

@kalina When are you becoming a pony again?

@TerryChia so...write a snarky python script, fork the repo, copy kalina.py to scottpack.py, and make it use your snarkscript

@ManishEarth That sounds like a waste of time. :P
I'd rather work on more useful stuff.

3:02 PM
Probably some time later in the year
once I finish sulking about how badly rejected I feel, I will change back to a pony

@kalina Didn't you withdraw before the prelims were over?

no I got to the primaries and collected the most downvotes out of any candidate, including people who don't even actively use the site
I did actually get more upvotes than I did downvotes
but shrug

@kalina It shows that you are a very controversial person. :P People either like you or hate you.

3:18 PM
yeah well... no more fire, no more fun, over the short term at least my activity on SE is going to plummet
anyway, I have a male friend who wants my attention, back later

@kalina Is that a euphemism?
Man, I say that a lot...

2 hours later…
5:34 PM
Is everybody else getting this too?

5:44 PM
@tylerl yup
on other sites too, looks like backend is down
back now
Cache purge? New requests took a long time
or index rebuild, whatever ...

2 hours later…
7:39 PM
@TildalWave TWSS
@TerryChia This makes sad Scott sad.

Nice one @ManishEarth. Swoop in and take it form me like a boss.

7:53 PM
@3ventic ?

@LucasKauffman check revisions
it was fixed already

@ScottPack it was because of this

8:09 PM
@ManishEarth You rolled it back while I was looking at the revisions to decide which one to roll it back to. :)

8:29 PM
haha

right time for me to get some protective glasses
I lost the key of my weaponcabinet, so I had to drill my padlock
sunglasses dont make that easier

In America a real man would just squint.

@ScottPack In America a real man already went blind from drinking engine oil instead of beer.

8:47 PM
@AviD To be fair, in America what passes for "real men" don't drink beer. They drink Bud Light.

"engine oil"
actually I consider Bud light to be "beer flavored soda".
or "beer flavored pop", for you midwest oddities.

I say soda
I wouldn't even go so far as to call Bud Light beer flavo(u)?red.

oh it definitely has some form of flavor.

Apropos. The state subdivisions are counties.
And yes, it tastes like something, but I'm not sure I would call it beer.

yeah, you posted that once.

9:03 PM
I find it interesting.

Agreed.
I still find it surprising that there are apparently many more that call it pop than soda. and, curious what the "other" consists of.
Another interesting fact: If you ask for "soda" in Israel, you will most likely get club soda / seltzer / carbonated water.

@ScottPack well it is, I'm sitting down at the moment :P
@AviD that's what I'd expect too, some fizzy drink since the name prolly comes from sodium bicarbonate?

@TildalWave sure, but 'merkans call all fizzy drinks "soda".
well, apparently not ALL 'merkans, just east coast and west coast.
Wait, is there any other part?

@AviD I know, but if they're carbonated (which they would be) that kinda makes sense, no?

@TildalWave hmm? now Im confused - which are you talking about?

9:10 PM
@AviD soda

@TildalWave yeah?

@AviD well... some drink + sodium bicarbonate = some carbonated drink

well yeah, I call it soda too. Turns out most americans dont, and in Israel it means specifically "soda water"

we call it "carbonated water" in contrast to "naturally carbonated water" ... same goes for "mineral", so you'd have all kinds of combinations then like e.g. "natural carbonated mineral water" would mean it's a natural spring water with high mineral contents but was artificially carbonated (I know, confusing)
(that's EU for you)

9:27 PM
Other would include things like soda-pop, soft drink, or not using generic names and referring to them as their brand names.
In fact, everywhere I've ben on menus they are referred to as soft drinks.

In the UK soda is soda water. Always.
Soft drinks are soft drinks
Except Irn-Bru, which as we have said before, is ginger

9:49 PM
@TerryChia A EUPHEMISM?
FROM ME?
;)
@ScottPack pop

10:00 PM
@kalina Brits are strange.

10:11 PM
> My plan was to get a Ethical Hacker Degree with Sandwich year, and get Security+ and CCNA qualifications for networking.
Something about that doesn't make any sense to me.

Is it the sandwich?

Most of it makes no sense.

It is.

A good sandwich always makes sense.

Sandwiches mmmm

10:12 PM
@RoryAlsop Come now. The rest of that sentence makes sense, even if his plan is rubbish.
Guhg
I had too big a lunch and am still feeling uncomfortably full.

The sandwich year makes sense but why would you choose that combination

@RoryAlsop WTH is a sandwich year?
An odd britishism?

I guess it could be. It's a way of studying and working

@RoryAlsop maybe he's stacking his scholarship years into a sandwich, and security training would be the meaty part of it?

By time slicing between work and uni

10:16 PM
or just describing chronology by what he'd eat the most of in those years

shouldnt that be Ramen?
or is that just yuppy startups?

@ScottPack I don't have the ability to be mean at the moment, it's on cooldown

that good, eh?

@AviD Pot noodles? That's like saying you don't care what you eat as long as it's some fancy packaging novelty. Which it isn't any more, it died in the 80's together with Tom Cruise filming Wall Street movies.

hey, I dont eat 'em, thats a yuppy startup thing.

10:24 PM
it's probably spray-on cheese and rice biscuits now
which is basically a lick of yellow paint on styrofoam

10:36 PM
spray on cheese confused me so much the first time I encountered it

I have yet to encounter it in person. The concept intrigues me.

10:57 PM
it's the most vile and disgusting thing imaginable

I have quite a few choice rebuttals to that, but I cant decide who to victimize this time - @simon, @adnan, or someone else....
