12:31 AM
@Xander Ah, that's where I got the idea from. I got bored and randomly started to try today.
@ThomasPornin Nope. Things are very expensive here now.

7 hours later…
7:54 AM
good morning

8:13 AM
mornin'

mornin'

mornin'

@TildalWave Yes :-) I kept bugging them with the stats until shog agreed (mostly because we have almost no rejections from SF, so we are obviously being good with it)
@RоryMcCune and @ColinCassidy - morning to you both
@RоryMcCune how's the Rest and be Thankful?
If landslips / flooding doesn't get better I may rethink my loch ness route south on Sunday

SOS
we ran out of coffee

8:29 AM
@Lighty I'm on my 3rd. Not been sleeping well this week

@RoryAlsop I haven't been sleeping neither, head is too full
just that feeling, when you finally fall asleep, and then wake up, just to the same feeling that your head has a traffic jam or something

8:53 AM
@RoryAlsop so they're still working on clearing it but IIRC if you're coming down from loch ness you won't have to go by it (you'd be down via Crianlarich and the A82?)

@RоryMcCune Has @RoryAlsop tamed Nessie and is using her as a form of transport now?

9:09 AM
@TerryChia You didn't know? He tamed it by feeding it back when it was just a baby.

I bet @RoryAlsop fed Nessie other babies when he was a baby

9:21 AM
This is a fascinating product: sprout.hp.com

HP products tlly don't resemble Apple products nowadays
but that Sprout thing looks AWESOME

@Lighty It does.

that's portable? o.o

I don't think so
looks like a AIW

oh
costs 1900USD
damn
xD

9:24 AM
I kinda want one, but any tech I'm an early adopter of gets jinxed ;p

indeed
i had it with my surface
never shouldve gone for a RT 1
but save a little bit and shouldnve gotten the Surface Pro 1 when it was in the market

A: PCI Compliance - Encrypted Mobile Apps

Zahra BajgiranAnother solution could be tokenization. You might want to talk to a few experts about it, but I used this company because they were the only one offering us merchant services for reasonable rates and completely PCI compliants

tlly not advertising right there

Q: How secure is Craft and why is it secure?

Natetronn What measures have been put in place in regards to securing Craft at the core level. What measures have been put in place in regards to Craft's Plugins which make use of (connect to if you will) Craft's core? If possible (without an opinion piece being written), is there anyway to make a compari...

Anyone wants to find a vuln in that software and answer the question with it? ;)

@TerryChia cc @ThomasPornin

@Arperum That isn't crypto though. :P

@RоryMcCune ahh - yes, that's probably correct
I did think about going all the way round the north west, just for fun...

@TerryChia True. Still, for fun and learning maybe?

@RoryAlsop It's a lovely drive on a nice day for sure

9:58 AM
@RоryMcCune yeah :-)

^ it was nice last time we went up that way

heheheehehehe

@RоryMcCune Whereabouts is that? Looks like bits of Glencoe but rounder

@RoryAlsop think you're on the mark that will have been Glencoe

@RоryMcCune It only adds an hour and a half to my journey if I spin past yours...assuming roads open etc
Or another extra hour if I want to add in Oban/Lochgilphead
maybe that's a bit of a long slog
(checking for unique Ingress portals, you see...)

@RoryAlsop well at the moment RaBT convoy is adding 15'ish minutes according to the BEAR peoples twitter, I've not been up that way so not seen it in action as yet..

10:42 AM
i showed my GF a screenshot of my code
she asked if that was nerd language ._.

11:12 AM
@RoryAlsop if you do come over the rest, looks like they're hoping to have it clear before Sunday... bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-29831806

@RоryMcCune Will have a good look then, and let you know closer to time if it can work

@RoryAlsop now the question is do we dare use it :))

11:30 AM
@Lighty The answer is technically yes, but your girlfriend sounds like a fail.
I'm lucky enough to have someone who appreciates nerds. Just as well, I suppose.

raz
@Polynomial Three cheers for that

Not to say that she isn't a nerd in her own way. I mean, she's made a pretty damn accurate Predator costume for herself for Halloween, from scratch, including leather armor.

@Polynomial oh, she appriciates alright, she just likes to make fun of me sometimes xD

raz
@Polynomial Nice! Mine is the reason I watch Doctor Who

mine is a gew because before we got together, there was this one time where is got sick, AND had a damaged wrist, before i knew she stood next to my bed to wake me up with a cup of tea and some chocolate

11:37 AM
I'm trying to work out whether you were trying to say "gem" or "jew"

gem
GEM

I kinda like the latter option more.

GEMMMMMM
;~;
if she was a jew, she'd prolly hate me for playing WW2 games already

in my experience, Jews don't mind the WW2 games. they rarely glorify the Nazis ;]

@Polynomial Wolfenstein the new order

11:38 AM
yeah I love that game.

is one of my fav. "newer" games

@Polynomial Win!

whats more fun to go akimbo shotgun on some nazi ass? ;3

final boss fight was soooo hard.

indeed it was D:
that moment the german died and the handicaped kid was alone
dem feels

11:39 AM
@Lighty mine is a nurse who spent a lot of time in cardiothoracic ICU. sympathy is not an option unless my chest is cut open and she's helping my internal organs work...

I don't remember that bit. Maybe you chose the other story arc when you have to pick who to save.

and seconds after that scene, you walk into a burning down house full with nazi and big guns... revenge!

there will be no tea and chocolate

ohhh, yeah no I remember that scene
yeah that was sad

@Lighty haven't played new Wolfie. I loved the original too much

11:40 AM
I love how the big dude was getting shot up and didn't care

I have just installed Metro Redux (both versions) though - as I loved the book so much

@RoryAlsop i think the new one is a great attempt on turning the classic into a more modern shooter

raz
@RoryAlsop The original was amazing!

@Polynomial indeed
running into a full room of nazis with double machineguns/rocket launchers
is FUN

@RoryAlsop I have to say, the new one is excellent. Modern FPS style, but it's still got that run-and-gun thing rather than sitting behind chest high walls all the time. Keeps it exciting. And there are enough stealth and sort-of-puzzle bits to keep it fresh.

11:41 AM
escpecially because the character, mr Blatzcowitz builds up more and more hate
@Polynomial yup, and no red pudding in your face when you die!
actual challenge

@Lighty that last scene in the asylum was... grim :|

and perfect difficulty balance based on choice
@Polynomial yes...
or the part where you shoot frau engels FACE off
then she climbs up
and bam, shes in your face
made me jump in my chair
the whole asylum level was sickening
the game doesnt have huge warnings all over the cover, box and manual for nothing
and also
smex scenes xD
which suprised me

was amusing

indeed
escpecially the last part before you go to the moon i believe
the whole house shaking, and your mate outside going like "QUIT IT ALREADY", typical Wolf humour xD

11:48 AM
@Polynomial hahahahahaha

@Polynomial good. Haven't opened them yet (downloaded them last night over 2Mb broadband :-(

@RoryAlsop you're in for an experience, be sure to dim/turn off your lights, put on ehadphones, and listen and look, the game is not only interesting, but really beautifull <3
the music too, really tone setting, if you play it in the dark with headphones, you really immerse yourself into the dark void caled the metro, feeling like artyom, dark and alone, in the middle of moscow

@Lighty lovely

Metro Last Light was excellent.

@Polynomial not sure if that is included in the 2 redux packages. They seem to have a lot in there
Hopefully it is included
for £30 I expect it is

12:27 PM
@TerryChia tried to read about sprout, but the website is so incredibly annoying and unfriendly I gave up. Why would you make your website look like that?
I think I am interested in the product, but not if I have to click through videos, multimedia nonsense and a layout designed by an epileptic lemming
4
Gahh

+1 for the epileptic lemming

raz
@Polynomial Did you spring for the Slipknot tickets?

I looked at the page for 3 minutes and I still haven't a clue what it's supposed to spin
And that's over 30x my usual attention span!

1:21 PM
@raz Not yet.

@RoryAlsop Because you have lots of designers, and no UX people.

@Xander You look like a designer.

@Simon Why thank you.

My pleasure.

@Simon Have a donut on me.

1:33 PM
Thanks.

So you remember this?
Flickr made this in response: parkorbird.flickr.com
I am immensely impressed by it. Couldn't fool it with pictures of insects or even a render of a Pterodactyl.

@Polynomial That is awesome.

@Polynomial OH MY GOD IT HAS A PICTURE OF A DONUT
DONUTS ACTUALLY

raz
@Polynomial How old is that xkcd?

@raz Only a week or so.
@Simon I had cookies today instead :P

1:37 PM
@raz 24 Sept

raz
@RoryAlsop How did you find that?

@RoryAlsop really a whole month? damn, time dilation.

@raz Believe or not but unlike me he was born on September 24th.

raz
@Polynomial That's what I was thinking

always use explainxkcd to find dates and further links

1:39 PM
huh, whats the difference in using a smart card for Two Factor or using an SD Card/USB etc., whats so special 'bout the Smart card?

raz
@RoryAlsop It's annoying that xkcd just doesn't date each one.
Well, annoying to me

It is annoying.

Wow - the explainxkcd page already has the flickr reference
> A month after this comic came out, Flickr released a prototype online tool to do just what this comic describes, using its automated-tagging software to answer the bird question.

@raz Did you listen to the track I linked you yesterday?

@RoryAlsop explainxkcd is maintained by xkcd fans. It's hard for them to even conceive being slow at updating wikis.

raz
1:42 PM
@Simon Not yet, I drank pumpkin beer instead

@Polynomial true

@raz Fair enough.

@raz those should not be exclusive

raz
@RoryAlsop Yeah but I was out drinking, not home drinking

@raz As Simon said, then
1 min ago, by Simon
@raz Fair enough.

raz
1:45 PM
It was delicious beer though. Hollowed out pumpkin, put a case of bourbon inside for a few days. Emptied it, attached a keg of Southern Tier Warlock, filled it, tapped the pumpkin.
It was awesome

You know what else is awesome? Not me, I suck.

raz
@Simon Well with that attitude, yeah you do

@Simon Thats my line! D:

@Lighty Yeah you do, I'm actually listening to the music you should be listening right now.
You fake Dutch.

@Simon well, you do too for generelizing Dutch people
@Simon you fake donut!

1:47 PM
I'm listening to Eminem. Because fuck sociological expectations.

@Polynomial POLY'S BACK, BACK AGAIN

@Simon Actually, it's "Cleanin' out my Closet"

@Polynomial But I remember you coming in here singing that.

I'M SORRY @SIMON, I NEVER MEANT TO HURT YOU! I NEVER MEANT TO MAKE YOU CRY...

cries

1:48 PM
@Polynomial Good, atleast clean your closet if you're not gonna come out!

@Lighty Maybe I'll call up R Kelly.

I remember dancing to Eminem on my Elementary school graduation party, lulz.

He's actually an excellent artist.

I agree.

And a pedophile...

1:50 PM
@Lighty What the fuck?

@Lighty Who the fuck are you talking about?

I think you misunderstood the lyrics when he's referring about his daughter.

I'm not a big fan of his stuff where he's doing the regular "fuck bitches, get money, shot guns" shit, but when he does stuff about problems in his life, or funny social commentary stuff, it's awesome.

@Polynomial My thoughts exactly.

Robert Sylvester Kelly (born January 8, 1967), known professionally as R. Kelly, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and rapper. A native of Chicago, Illinois, often referred to as the King of R&B, Kelly began performing during the late 1980s and debuted in 1992 with the group Public Announcement. In 1993, Kelly went solo with the album 12 Play. He is known for a collection of major hit singles including "Bump n' Grind", "Your Body's Callin'", "I Believe I Can Fly", "Gotham City", "Ignition (Remix)", "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time", "The World's Greatest", "I'm a Flirt",...
that bit bout legal actions
i've read the dutch version before
not 100% sure if pedo, but it sounds like it X.x

1:51 PM
ohhh
I thought you were talking about Eminem.

ofc not

Yeah, R Kelly is totes a paedophile.

You didn't say anything about R. Kelly, what the hell?

He got put in jail for banging a 15 year old girl.

OH

1:52 PM
@Simon I mentioned him briefly above.

Poly did. Alright.

lol, crossed conversations!

@Polynomial they shouldv'e cut off his hose, and then jail him
nah, eminem is cool
one of the few real artists in that genre

I'm also a big fan of Scroobius Pip and Cubbiebear.

<rant> instead of F8ck bitches, count racks (money?), with a stupid drum machine operated by a retard </rant>
hm, no offense to retards D:

1:54 PM
Scroobius is the guy who did Thou Shalt Always Kill

HE USED THE EDIT FEATURE
OH MY GOD HE DID IT

poet/rapper

@Polynomial Wait it only works with a few of the examples? How's that difficult then?

@Simon you are always with yer hands in your pants when i use that, i use it quite often you know D:

@TildalWave You can drag any image in.

1:54 PM
because, you know, i suck at typing

@Polynomial didn't work for me

@TildalWave HTML5 uploader. Pull files from your machine and drop them on the page.

@TildalWave Stop using IE6.

@TildalWave Then your browser is poo.

damnit I don't and yes I use HTML5 compliant browser

1:55 PM
@TildalWave More like a HTML5 complaint browser.
HAIYOOOO

@Polynomial Dayum.

so you're saying because some flickr stuff doesn't work my browser is poo yes that makes sense

@TildalWave I'm winding you up :P
maybe noscript or something?

I know
prolly some of the plugins ... I'm not gonna bother finding out

@raz hang on...'emptied out the bourbon'???? Wut??

1:57 PM
all I have is adblock, https everywhere and ghostery

probably goatsery

or my HOSTS blocking half their domains

that might be it haha :P

@TildalWave I know I can't drag and drop on any of my machines
probably a plugin too

they're crowdsourcing it anyway ... they hired @Simon to find out if there's donuts on pics

2:02 PM
@TildalWave They asked me to automate it but I told them that no software will be able to do it as quickly/accurately as me.

@TildalWave They were gonna get me to do it, then they realised I'd just eat them all.

@Polynomial The pictures? That'd be an issue.

@Simon how come donutornot.com isn't taken yet?

@Simon They're close enough to donuts that I'll try it.

@Polynomial I tried an archeopteryx picture, it said "not a bird".

2:04 PM
@TildalWave I think donutordonot.com would be better ;]
@ThomasPornin Was it a fossil?

well it's not hotordonot.com
it says my missus is not a bird ... that's it I'm blocking flickr

@TildalWave Hey, that could be a cool project.

I just got sent an email with an amazing translation fail at the bottom

And I would add an easter egg where it would detect "#yolo".

2:09 PM
> Can't read this email? Click to view it in your ocelot browse.

I like the idea that they'd ship me a paper copy of the email on the back of an Ocelot.

A: How to report vulnerabilities without being regarded as a hacker?

AJ HendersonSimply reporting that it is using HTTP rather than HTTPS for login and that that is insecure shouldn't get you accused of hacking. It is something immediately publicly visible from looking at the site. There are many ways of detecting vulnerabilities which could actually be considered hacking...

are making me facepalm hard

@AJHenderson hahahaha
I think people are possibly knee-jerk responding, rather than actually reading your post

@AJHenderson flag as not constructive
I could say that many innocent people were prosecuted and convicted for crimes they didn't commit ... maybe they had a stupid lawyer, maybe they were victims of prejudice, or maybe the judge was retarded (that's a lot of redundancy right there), but it has nothing to do with the question or your answer.

it ams dildos

wat

2:19 PM
@Polynomial did you by mistake press alt+tab while on skype? :)

@AJHenderson - it seems that by posting that answer, every miscarriage of justice that ever happened is now somehow your fault :-)

@TildalWave no. it was a reference to Metalocalypse.

2:36 PM
So is that a good or a bad thing? Dildos are plug&play! Surely that's a good thing, no?

Talking about metal: Going to see 8 bands I haven't seen yet saturday. Mostly trashmetal IIRC.

@Arperum trashmetal? You mean thrash?
@TildalWave "this ams dildos" is generally taken to be a bad thing in the Metalocalypse universe.
hjoyverkruft

wat

@Polynomial Close enough.

never heard of them.
though I think "Bloodrocuted" is actually a reference to Metalocalypse.

2:39 PM
@Arperum i've read the logo as Black Butt Bash

Dethklok have a track called Bloodrocuted.

@Polynomial Reference to a song by Dethklok

@Arperum Yeah, which is Metalocalypse :P

@Polynomial I has lack of knowledge.

Dethklok are the fictional band in the Adult Swim series Metalocalypse.
which is what I just linked a clip of :P

2:42 PM
I assumed so, not watching now because work. And I have Equilibrium playing already.

I'm off to see Parkway Drive and Heaven Shall Burn in December... gonna be sweet

You're sweet.

Dildos.

Still toying with Slash tickets in December. Kinda gutted I couldn't go see Airbourne at the weekend (along with Black Stone Cherry)

I forgot to buy tickets for Alestorm.
gutted :(

2:43 PM
:(

@Polynomial I had a plectrum from Heaven Shall Burn. Until some moron stole my wallet.

@Arperum Damn. How were they live?

@Polynomial The Alestorm tour was nice. I liked the show I saw last month.

@Arperum That's the one I missed the tickets for. Was gonna catch the London gig.
I'm mainly looking forward to a bit of "VALHALLAAAAAAAAA! Deliverance!"

@Polynomial Pretty good, didn't really know them. They closed with Valhalla, a Blind Guardian cover. I liked that a lot

2:45 PM
yeah, listening to it right now :D

I saw them on Metaldays this summer.

:D

@Polynomial I had tickets for the sold out show in Belgium.
I'm going to a gig nearly every other weekend, or more.

lucky.
I'm toying with the idea of grabbing Slipknot tickets for March.
I should also find out if As Blood Runs Black are going back on tour

So this week it's Black out bash, next week Eluveitie, and then I have nothing planned yet for a couple weeks I think, except for Sabaton 27th November.

2:48 PM
oh man
I really wanted to go to Eluveitie
but we have other plans :[

@Polynomial Come over to Belgium next week sunday! I'll get you a bed.

hah, if only.

It'll be the second time I see them this year.

we saw them support DevilDriver along with Behemoth a couple years back, and I really enjoyed their show.
nothing quite like stopping for a quick bagpipe solo in the middle of a metal gig

Saw them on graspop in June. Then as support they have Arkona and Skalmold. Arkona was damn nice two weeks ago :)
And skalmold will be a first time seeing them.

2:50 PM
:)

@TildalWave it is kind of a warning saying my answer is somehow inaccurate

I'm just glad I got to see Slayer on one of their final gigs before it all went to shit.

so I see it as vaguely related
even if I'm HIGHLY suspicious that more was going on

first gig that they did after the cancelled Canadian tour, when Tom had just recovered from back surgery.
2 months later Jeff was dead.

@Polynomial Those who had bought a ticket apologized to the band.

2:52 PM
@Simon haha
they really went to shit after that, too. arguments and stuff just spilled over, Kerry became obsessed with cash...

Unfortunately, most acts become greedy as nobs.

@Simon It's not usually like that in the metal scene.

yea, recent Slayer gigs are nothing special.

@Polynomial That's a good thing, you guys are lucky.

I think I've seen Slayer about four times now, wasn't able to complete any gig.

2:54 PM
I'm also glad that Rammstein decided to change their mind on quitting the touring.
they were meant to finish after Rosenrot, but then came back when Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da came out.
best band I've ever seen live.

Rammstein <3

also the first proper gig I ever went to.

Haven't seen them yet.

@Arperum It's an experience.

First gig I went too was Korpiklaani. Like 8 years ago.

2:56 PM
nothing quite like watching a 6'3 guy wearing a gigantic metal angel wing rig on his back, wider than the entire stage, which then blasts flames from the end of it and sparks from underneath
and that's just one track.

@Polynomial I'd agree with that. Rammstein, Floyd and Muse (in their day)

for Ich Tut Dir Weh, Till got his cheeks pierced so they could light up the inside of his mouth with LEDs while he sang
they are extreme performers
my parents were at that gig. was weird.

wat

@Simon As I say, Rammstein is an experience.
