Note: Since some gap theory arguments rely on phrasing in the King James, I will be quoting from the KJV unless otherwise noted. All verses will be examined in the KJV, other versions will be listed if they correct or add to the discussion.
The Gap Theory, sometimes called the Ruin and Reconstru...
@FrankLuke I have this feeling you were just warming up your keyboard...is there a book in there (somewhere)? Awesome answer, and yet you can see from reading Joseph's response how 'romantic' the idea can be.
@PaulVargas I imagine there's more editing to do there. I tried to steer clear of the angel issue because I knew that was going to make it too long. Did I wind up going into it? I'm a little foggy right now. Our basement was flooded this morning.
@PaulVargas Thank you!
@user2479 Thank you! I started that Sunday morning. It's the fastest I've ever written a paper like that. It could have been a term paper. As to a book, I've been considering taking some of my apologetics papers and putting the together. I lost some of my best in a hard drive crash, but this would definitely be part. And there were parts of the gap theory that I completely skipped. I did nothing with the angel's rebellion, Lucifer's Eden.
@FrankLuke I've had a chance to read through it more slowly now. :) The benefit of being the "OP" is that I get to say "thankyou" in SE terms twice (UV + "Check")!
@FrankLuke I was thinking about helping you out with some links to GKC, etc., but possibly you've hit the character limit? (And people who care can find the relevant paragraphs quickly enough.)
@FrankLuke Nice - "about 29,394 characters" :)) Will leave the links!
I also like this as a short, simple orientation to Hebrew parallelism, but I don't think it helps much with your closing section (where you use Ps 1 as example)...
