@JackDouglas combo. The "issue" has been known for a long time (and by more parties than that page would leave you to believe). The only thing that's really new is the publicity stunt.

That being said the issue of irresponsibe embeded device manufactures could use some publicity.

Closed source embeded device software is the pits as far as security goes. A few spotlights showing just how bad it is will hopefully preasure more manufactures into allowing or even embracing 3rd party ROMs.
