@swasheck I can relate to some extent
@swasheck indeed
I can't name one... but lots

@Daи He's done one better now. He heaved a big sigh over my inability to use Google, and said he actually would answer the question. And then he produced a long wall of text which didn't name a single modern Bible translation.
It's like some sort of surrealist art project.

@TRiG he must be a JW, because he can't answer for himself but merely copy and paste from Watchtower :P

I would link you to the specific comment, so you could read the exchange, but when you do that Disqus rearranges the comments, and pulls the linked one to the top, out of context. Disqus is a pain.
Threaded conversation systems in general are a pain. I hate Reddit too, but at least I can ignore Reddit. I pretty much have to use Disqus.

@TRiG yeah Disqus is a pain
gotta run, good talking to ya all

The stats of this site says that there are 3,569 visitors/day. Is that really unique visitors? Kind of cool if it is. Are that people googling for answers on Bible question and just hit an answer and then leaves. Or is it people returning to the site without contributing?

I'm sorry, visits I think
i.e. individual sessions
but still that's a good metric, obviously page views is 6,000+
@NiclasNilsson so last time you mentioned you are part of the Swedish Pentecostal movement
very cool
were you raised in Pentecostalism?

@Daи Still impressive. This stats thing is always there in the sidebar but never really thought about it.
Yes I was
:-)

@NiclasNilsson very neat, were your parents involved in the Christian Democratic party and early movements in the 60's and whatnot then?
(Kristdemokraterna)

I'm surprised that you are think it's so cool and that you know that much. :-) My parents were actually very sensetive about talking politcs. They wanted us kids to make up our own opinion but I think they leaned to KDS (Kristdemokraterna today). They were not very involved as you might understand

@NiclasNilsson ok, I have read a considerable amount on religion and foreign policy in your 'neck of the woods'
out of personal interest
@NiclasNilsson I can understand that, especially since it was more of a grassroots thing until the 80's/90's anyways

3:48 PM
@Daи Cool :) Any relatives here? Or why Scandinavia? Yes it was

@NiclasNilsson my main interest was actually the coexistence of Eastern Orthodoxy and Lutheranism in Finland
but in learning about that, I read a lot about religion and foreign policy throughout Scandinavia

@Daи Oh. Ok. then there are probably a lot of things you know that I don't about church history here :-)

@NiclasNilsson I had become interested in the writings of Tuomo Mannermaa, Veli-Matti Karkkainen, Carl E. Braaten, and Robert W. Jenson
I was raised Lutheran

Ok :-)

and the Finnish Lutherans have integrated much of their beliefs with Eastern Orthodoxy
specifically, they have attempted to reconcile the ideas of justification by faith and theosis
VMK especially

3:52 PM
Interesting.

VMK = Veli-Matti Karkkainen
VMK now teaches at Fuller, a prominent seminary in the US

Yeah he has written some about ecclesiology I believe...

so his ideas are making inroads into Protestant Christianity

Is he att Fuller? I didn't know :)

he has been there 13+ years now
I also read VMK's book The Spirit in the World: Emerging Pentecostal Theologies in Global Contexts (2009) which you may find interesting, as it discusses your own movement and others
actually, I'm not 100% sure it talks about Sweden in that book

3:56 PM
Ok. Sorry. Have to go. My three year old says that I have to come and eat and that he is going to count to make sure I really come. ;)

It talked a lot about Asia and Africa
@NiclasNilsson haha adios!

adios ;)
