@TheodoreA.Jones I can buy that. Hence why I'm Eastern Orthodox :P

12:36 AM
@Dan Well sir I didn't know that. I checked in here because of countless religious opinions and questions. Me thinks you might be in need of a revised opinion.

@FrankLuke You mean apologetics.com? I sure was! I hate that it's gone now, too. However, the board is still hanging out there in cyberspace and you can find all of your old posts: apologetics.com/forums/ubbthreads.php What was your name on there? I was geekdaddy

@MarkAnthonySonger Not that one. This site used to have a forum. I was simply "Frank." Made some good friends there.

@FrankLuke Ah, never went there
@FrankLuke But apologetics is a passion of mine, for sure. Starting up a new blog and podcast geared towards apologetics for college students. We go live tomorrow

@MarkAnthonySonger Neat! What's the address?
About 18 months ago, I had a dream where I went to a William Lane Craig debate and asked a question of his opponent in the open mic time. Afterwards, Craig invited me to supper and started interviewing me on the spot. His last question was "When can you start?" I replied "as soon as I decide between this offer and the one from Ravi Zaccharias."
One of my best dreams ever.

2:02 AM
HA! That definitely sounds like a good one :)
The site is epicfaithministries.com We start live beta tomorrow hoping to be 100% before the end of the month

@TheodoreA.Jones hi, just catching up now. When I ask questions in comments on the site, my purpose is to improve the post -- so while having an email conversation might answer my question, it won't help anybody else. Similarly, I don't want people to answer in comments (which might not stick around, nor be read), but by editing the post. Sorry I wasn't clear enough about that. As for your comment to me, I was & still am mystified by it; it doesn't seem to have anything to do w/ the prior discussion.
@Caleb err, can you explain it to me since it's still not clear from the chat log here? Remember that it's on a question about Malkhi-Tzedek and I didn't say anything about crucifixion (which doesn't seem to have anything to do with the topic at hand). It kind of looks to me like Theodore is reading into my words things I didn't say -- or maybe he assumes we share a doctrine or something.
@TheodoreA.Jones so here's a thing you may have missed: BH is not a Christian site. Questions must arise from the text, not doctrine (or be about herm. methods), and answers must start from the text and follow some path to a conclusion. We don't really do doctrine here (though it creeps into answers), and there are no doctrinal axioms. This is a site not just for Christians but also Jews, Muslims, atheists, areligious academics, and anybody else who takes the biblical text seriously.

@FrankLuke ah, thanks -- I didn't know that Christians ascribed supernatural status to Malkhi-Tzedek. I'd never heard the claim before. (To us he's an ordinary human, though one who also worships God; nothing in Genesis leaves any doubt.) I've seen some rabbinic commentary on him but not a lot. He shows up out of nowhere for three verses or so and then disappears again, so you know there'll be some questions. :-)

@MonicaCellio if he doesn't edit it himself then I propose to either remove most of it (per my comment) or delete outright.

A: How did the shadow move back ten steps in 2 Kings 20:8-11?

ElijahovahMy answer is the same that parted the Red Sea. In 1514bc a comet of ammonia approached Earth and split in two. ^^^ I'm not sure if the usual "hey welcome, could you add some sources?"-style comment will really help here.

@MonicaCellio Yes, it's the message I deleted by Theodore

@MadaraUchiha ah, see it now. Thanks, and sorry to have bothered you.

@MonicaCellio Ah, no biggy :)

Q: Frequency and elements of the Lord's Supper

Mark Anthony SongerA question just for fun: Because of the dangers of drinking water, wine was a common drink in the days of the New Testament. Sure, maybe most wines were heavily watered down, but wine was still a regular drink. Likewise, bread was a common staple at tables. Cheap, easy to make, and filling. ...

^^^ As currently written this is a bad fit for us. It can either be fixed up for us or moved to C.SE. @MarkAnthonySonger wasn't sure where to post it either, and I'm not sure whether to cast a close/migrate vote or what. Thoughts?

6:17 PM
^^^ more of a comment (not an answer), the author hasn't been back since April to fix it, and my flag was declined.
