Marco OcramThere are clearly conflicts between certain aspects of transgender thinking and certain aspects of feminism. To see why this might be the case, consider one aspect of feminism, which is based on the view that women have been, for millennia, disadvantaged, subjugated, exploited, victimised, viola...

@user66697 many thanks. I tried to avoid any assumptions about why transgender proponents hold their views, as I thought that was irrelevant to my point about why there was an inherent conflict between some transgender proponents and some feminists.

so you only argue for one side " You therefore arrive at a position in which a member of the class of humans which has historically been associated with the exploitation and suppression of women (ie what most people would call men), is able to claim membership of the set of humans which has historically been subject to the exploitation "
it's fine: you act however you like.

Not really- I am just stating what I believe to be facts. If you think that some biological women have not historically been exploited and suppressed by some biological men, then I disagree with you.

yes, i definitely do think that. you have historically exploited and oppressed me.

In which case I apologise.
What would you like to do about it?

I don't see much constructive happening here, so I'll temporarily freeze the room and check with a local mod whether they see cause to unfreeze it.
Flags went network-wide. At which point something has definitely gone too far.
