Q: Let's make a huge number with only tiny numbers (pt3)

CrSb0001Previous huge out of tiny puzzle by TerriblyDrawn Using only four ones, four twos, and five fives (1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5), can you make the complex number$$51+5i\sqrt5$$You can use all mathematical operations you know (i.e floor, factorial, multifactorial, powers/indicessee restr...

well okay I guess it's not that big for what we could make with those numbers but it's still pretty big I guess :\
@WeatherVane Yes, sorry for not clarifying that.
@WeatherVane Ah, I should probably have clarified a bit more, but yes, that would be allowed.

Thanks for clarifying!

@WeatherVane Most definitely welcome! I'm just really horrible at creating these puzzles, so any feedback is most definitely appreciated!

Interesting restriction on √ not allowed.

@WeatherVane It's because$$a^{1/2}=\sqrt a\because a^{1/b}\gets\sqrt[b]a\quad\forall b\in\mathbb R,b\ne0$$so I just don't want anyone abusing that power.

Also, are we allowed to use $i$? Or must it be $\sqrt{-1}$ ?

That's $\sqrt{-1}$, yes

I edited that, because we con't use sqrt.
But again there isn't a clear answer: is i allowed?

Yes, $i$ is allowed. You just have to get it using $\sqrt{-1}$ somehow.

Or must we use the power of -1
This is getting tedious. Can the symbol i appear in the solution?
Yes or no.

Yes, it can.
Also, for your comment before being moved to chat: You can use (-1)^.5, yes, and sorry about the confusion.

Obviously we could use the square root of -1, but must we.

Yes, you have to use it.

So we can't use the symbol i then?

Okay I have no idea what I'm saying in all honestly
But yes, you can use <i>i</i> if you want to.

You found only one solution. Did it use the symbol i?

Yes, it did (since it's a complex number)

Sorry but I'm struggling to get a definitive rule amongst the contradictions. You've said we must use the (-1)^.5 and also said we can use i. Which is it?

Oh sorry, I must've meant you could use either, but sorry about all of the confusion.

Thanks. Obviously i will appear in the working proof, but it can also appear in the actual answer, which could be (for example) "2 + 5i" and of course all the other numbers needed.
