@Boris_yo probably most useful when you don't have easy physical access to the camera. e.g.: crane jib mounted DSLR video; mounted camera up high for remote shots at events; those kinds of things. If you have close proximity to the camera, its usefulness is reduced.

@Boris_yo I'd second scottbb on that. It's mostly useful for video with remote operation which is the main place controls like that would be used. Interesting that they didn't tie it in to a unified control with a pan tilt unit for that though
that way it could completely unify jib controls

@Boris_yo Also, come to think of it, even if you are holding the camera (or more likely, mounted on video rails on a tripod, or on a shoulder rig), if you have an assistant camera operator / focus puller, this would be very useful. But basically, this is for video. Looking at Manfrotto's product pages for this and related tools, it's aimed squarely at the DSLR video market.
