Hello! is the grib2 format weather specific?

by weather specific I mean only really used to store weather data and not other kinds of data

In other news, just wrote my 100th answer

@Stacey grib2 can hold any gridded dataset, but i'm not aware of any uses besides weather/climate observations/modeling

it is also a pretty strictly defined format and you need the spec and the model documentation to figure out what all the table codes refer to. a bit of a pain to work with imho
