Congrats dude
Get my work done now! Lol

1:09 AM

never thought I'd get any of those link sharing badges
sheesh, Marc Edwards has gotten it 10 times

10 hours later…
11:29 AM
@JohnB WOW

2 hours later…
1:49 PM
good morning and happy friday

1 hour later…
2:55 PM
Happy Friday to you too, @Matt

i think I had too much red bull yesterday I went a little answer crazy on the site

eh? I thought you quit that stuff?

i did but I got the flu so trying to wing the flu and get all my work done by next tuesday
also found out the coffee I was drinking was decaf

...and then have the flu for two weeks straight? :P
ouch!
that's nasty. If someone ever serves me decaf without telling, they risk ending up with said beverage in their face.

Im thinking about asking a question on GD... but I dont know if the community would play well with it

3:05 PM
what is it?

was wondering if its ok to charge a designer after breaching the contract or not following through with the contract. getting too many that agree to a workflow and think delivering work that is no where what was agreed to is ok
also.. after half way through a project, when they agreed to deliver svg files they come back and say I dont know how to do that can you train me...
no comment, lol

sry, was focused elsewhere
it seems like a legal question here, and may be good to be a bit introspective

ya it might be

might be a better fit for the Workplace, maybe?

4:04 PM
no Scrooge today, lol

ok, time for weekend and some drinks!
I ain't fleeing from you, @Scott, they just opened my beer :)

@Matt what do you mean.. you want to charge a design for your work because they aren't doing what they said they would? Are they subcontractor's of yours?
Ahh.. enjoy @Vincent!
My Friday's jsut starting :)

cyah! :D

ya.. send out work to freelancers and they do not abide by the documentation that is stated in the contract
when I push back they sometimes Im told they cant correct it by the deadline.

so normally you'd pay them for work and your'e wondering, because they wasted your time, should you charge them instead?
Sounds like a decent question. Might fit on workflow or freelancing, but you'll get much more related and better answers here I suspect.

4:09 PM
well when they say they can do the work and agree to the contract but then comeback and say I dont know how to do that now will you train me.. defeats the idea doesnt it?

Yup and you do need contract terms to cover that :) It's a good question

trying to think how to formulate the question

A "failure to meet expectations" fee or something
there's definately something of value there though

a good title would surely draw a lot of outsiders, lol

I've been in that position a few times

4:11 PM
ya I'll work on a draft

stupid little job I was to make $400 on ends up costing ME $300 to fulfill the obligations I had when the subcontracter failed to deliver properly.
It's infuriating :)

cant think of a good title
Is it ethical to bill freelances for not meeting conditions?

How to best ensure subcontractors fulfill expectation?
How to handle freelance designers to fail to meet expectations?
or obligations
@Matt is it possible to center text in a question?

dont know never tried

4:26 PM
It's not :) I checked meta
You realize if I had an android device we'd be tied for hats now :)

I think it's good. From my perspective the main thing people may "ding" you on is having all the questions in one post. I mean, it makes sense due to the same basic scenario. But it may seem like a lot of questions for one post to some.

4:41 PM
removed the other questions and left the one

well you could have combined a bit :) I didn't mean you had to just lop them off :)

you got a better idea make the edit, lol

and I even gave you the upvote so you'll probably get the hat too :)

i already had the hat but all means if you think you can make it better please do

oh well good :)

4:46 PM
if I dont get much answers I will add a bounty

on Xmas no doubt :)

so having a good friday?
feels like monday

it's just now 9 am. I've been working since about 6. So I guess it's been an okay Friday :)

till 6am?

since

4:56 PM
you taking next week off?

had a "gotta have this by 10am PT" job come in at 7pm last night
Gotta build a web site over christmas :)
Client wants to lauch Jan 1 and I've been slacking
Just uninspired by it

you need help you know who to call... batman..

yeah but.. he smells like guano
really wish I could find some local kid to do my web stuff for me (as an employee). I can't believe the lack of talent around here.

send me what the site is about.. could knock some code by the weekend

get that?

5:03 PM
thats a weeird domain

it's an acronym for their stupidly-long-noone-wants-to-type-that domain

I just realized how lazy I am.. I have about 200 regex commands.

lazy or smart.. ya know Scrooge McDuck's motto!
site just needs a visual refresher. It was down and dirty in 2008 and it looks it.

man Ive seen that movie 4 times so far

Noo.. McDuck! not A Christmas Carol :)

5:09 PM
sorry still stuck in the christmas carol
I did see that halo movie

any good?
I saw Nightcrawler.. it was interesting.

it was blah

And Horrible Bosses 2 was as good as the first.

really?

yeah it wasn't bad.
They did a good job of using the same characters but a compeltely different story line

5:59 PM
oh no scott has 21 hats!!
