11:20 AM
I just hacked my first .svg.

11:31 AM
and yeah, I'm proud :P

11:49 AM
@Vincent Congrats

thx :) It was very simple, but first steps are first steps.

Sure
Doing eps is even easier

is it? I never opened an eps in a code edtor.

text editor, its simple but offcourtse programs can convolute it to their hearts content

hehe... wouldn't want to look at a gradient mesh

11:54 AM
here is one example i have used before
    %!PS-Adobe-3.0 EPSF-3.0
    %%BoundingBox: 0 0 40 40
    %%Title: Logo
    %%Creator: Janne Ojala
    %%CreationDate: 2014-10-08
    %%EndComments

% Put this in a text file and drop
% in app that understands eps. Like
    % ghostscript, illustrator, indesign etc.

    20 20 translate
    70 30 360
    {
        gsave
          dup rotate
          newpath
            15 0 0.01 4 -1 roll mul 0 360 arc
          fill
        grestore
    } for
    %%EOF
pretty simple stuff
altough you could begin with lines

hm, should be doable indeed
thing is, I just needed to fix an svg for working correctly in the Chrome browser
but I was fascinated by the simplicity of the code

Most formats are simple when you get to it
Im trying to solve the tangent equation of a bezier elegantly
I mean i can solve it but the code looks ugly

...that's too much math for me :/

its applied highschool math
A bit messy tough

12:17 PM
my highschool math was always messy

LOL

except for spatial arithmetics

This is geometry :)
Anyway i want to add a small segment to certain tangent for 7.2 million bezier segments at a specific tangent
like so:

our final marks were 70% function analysis and 30% spatial arithmetics. I was -- barely -- able to compensate for my E's in function analysis with my A+'s in spatial.

12:20 PM
I see

So you see doing it by hand is not an option... but i have a bit weird environment so i can just not copy a premade solution in
A bit like a oblique extrusion

I don't even know what a bézier function looks like in equations. Nor would I understand if I saw it :)

Hahaa
P0 (1-t)^3+3 P1 t (1-t)^2+3 P2 t^2 (1-t)+P3 t^3
vhere t is 0 to 1

what I said... pure abracadabra to me
I tried to understand the wikipedia article once.
...and gave up quickly :)

the animations should be explanatory
you slide a point on a line that slides along the corner lines
and that line slides on a line and so on for as many levels of weight you want but this is the one you use.

12:30 PM
that I understood, but I'm a beta: I want to understand the formulae. And that's just a bridge too far

thats what the foruma says
p0 and p1 ... are just teh controll point vectors
okay i give up

lol
the problem is, I'm not even tryin
so, please stop trying. I'm okay :)
I'll live
how are you, @joojaa?

Well im trying to catch up on work that should hsve been done ages ago
problems with browser
heres a video from the coridor just outside my door earlier today
Students needed to pass the courses first module by building a walker

12:48 PM
cool :D
I dreamed of building things like these when I was a kid

why not build one now
its pretty easy

all my lego is at my parent's, who... might have given it away

LOL well if you ever happen to be in finnland gimme a holler

Oh, will do. I was considering visiting Helsinki in the next few years anyway

Make sure you do it during summer

12:58 PM
uh, yeah, that was the plan ^_^

1:24 PM
otheriwse theres nothing to see. Black is black in the rest of the world i suppose

ah, you guys still have to invent the artificial lights? :P

yes
we like it dark

pity about those aurorae, then

1:53 PM
I feel obliged to share this job opening in TN: authenticjobs.com/jobs/22295/ui-designer/?ajp=4

Q: Why suddenly the never-loading pixel and headers?

ScottFor the past week I've been getting two items on every page load which fail to load. The browser just spins and spins, never completing any page load. These items don't appear to directly impact site display or use, but it is interesting to see any page never actually finish loading. The two ite...
