@JourneymanGeek Even if employees only do text editing and browsing, a new computer just makes working so much more pleasant. The problem is the mess it is to upgrade several computers running crappy designed software
though a lot of enterprise software doesn't do migrating very well I reckon. I mean, you can't copy the database + settings and install everything on another computer
my parents have all this software for their shoe stock + client information, you'd expect reinstalling would just involve installing + connecting to a database...
@JourneymanGeek yeah the hardware pricetag is 3k, the install pricetag 5k
well I almost question whether they need a server to begin with
heck they have 5 computers or so hooked to it, of which only 3 actually interact with it. They're a small shoe shop/orthopedic company, how many transactions do they really get?
the only thing that matters is redundancy, well I believe its easier to guarantee redundancy with more computers than one solid server :P
that's why I hope ipads and crappy os-es get more traction
because it will kill all these lame ass companies
why can't they just fix their app to run on windows 7 or 8 (when its there)?
when sometimes we double back/go on a route that involves the same bit twice, if he sees something he has already peed on, he wags his tale like crazy.... I took him out straight after he came back and he was wagging his tail at every tree etc.
@JourneymanGeek I don't let him of the lead... he never goes that far any more...
@BloodPhilia oh yeah! Don't you worry... nothing changes as far as you are concerned... I did the homepage and I thought I did a good job (but I asked for higher quality images...) It is just one person who doesn't like it (the company owner) everyone else does... on Tuesday, I'm going to see if I can convince him... test.ezpcinternal.com
@Wil: mine's a bit insecure i suspect. we usually keep him on the lead, cause he HATES motorbikes and bycycles, and we usually have people who ride em on the sidewalk and paths
@Wil I wasn't concerned about me... just about how ridiculous it is to order something and then just throw it in the trash... Like ordering a red car... getting it and then wanting a yellow one =/
@JourneymanGeek mine used to bark and try to chase after EVERYTHING.... he is ok now, but, some bikes he still does (mainly noisy/clicky push bikes with dynamos)
@BloodPhilia I know... I get things like this quite often with clients.... annoying, but part of the job
My grandson bought me a laptop today. I have had some trouble using it. I have a box on my screen that i cannot get to go away. It says press ok. I tried to type ok but it does nothing.
I called a help number that is on the box and they told me to press the return key, but i don't have a return ...
I have a fibre broadband and plenty of spare bandwidth (and cash) so I decided to do a favour for my community and purchase a wireless router and custom high powered antenna so that people can use my wifi for free for a good 300 metres away.
I called the network 'FreeNet4UbutNoPornPlz' and let i...
@slhck I suppose the question would be too simple. Remapping is a kind of trivial task now. And yet, it's hard to remap this particular "side scroll" action.
I want this because the scroller is broken, and I already did this on Linux easily. But I occasionally log in Windows...
@DarthAndroid: I'm sorry but I'm not able to see any posts other than my own. But if you have any other way of showing me the post, I'd be more than happy to offer some suggestions!

I know there are ways you can write scripts/macros to do things on Windows XP. What I probably need is one that will run as a background process.
Someone closed my question as "not real" yesterday. ...
@BloodPhilia well I've played it now, so I don't really care personally. But in general it's polite to at least give a spoiler warning, and give people in the room the chance to say "wait, don't say it!"
If you really have a valid reason why a moderator should have his permissions revoked then you should go and click the Contact Us link at the bottom of Meta Stackoverflow, although I would suggest you not to as a lot of people already showed that they disagreed with you.

This isn't going anywhere with his ALL CAPS and copying his argument over to each comment thread.
@TomWijsman we're dealing with it. Thanks for the heads up.
He's actually a sockpuppet of the user who asked that question. They've been merged on the main site, it might take a while for that to propagate to meta.
On our Community Ads Meta Post, some of the images suddenly got removed for no reason.
Can someone of the Stack Exchange team colaborate on what happened?
I consider this a network-wide risk...
A while back I answered this question and used the official Stack Overflow image uploader:

Well, it can be interpreted in many, many ways! Are you trying to:
Resize an image to another resolution?
Resize a file by cutting away/splitting data?
Resize a file by adding/removing data?
etc?
It's too vague to tell what you actually want to resize in its current form. Furthermore, we don'...
