Worth trying, indeed.

wierdly, my netbook-ish mini itx runs windows 7 perfectly
my laptop seems to not. I'll be getting a new win7 laptop so... i could probably do with another usable system. I'll just have to migrate my hosting over to a VPS...
which is faster anyway
lol. last time i activated, it was a machine ;p
which choked on my accent

Well, you get a machine by default, but I mean if that refers you to a technical assistant.

"please repeat the activation code" "blag blah blag" "please repeat the activation code" "blah blah blag" "please repeat the activation code" "oh for **&*^%^&^%&^%'s sake" "please key in your activation code on the key pad"

Really, speech recognition (in America?)? :D

singapore
and i have an... unusual accent

12:06 AM
Hmm, reasonable.
Yeah, voice control took some time for me to get used to on Windows 7. But by the time I got used to it I stopped used it for no particular reason (probably lack of further interest).

well, if i had an option to key it in to start with...

I can imagine how many people are annoyed by that...

well, as i said, i have an unusual accent
its allegedly angoamericanaussieindian
or indian lecturer

Whoa...
That looks like my previous laptop, it also showed the screen multiple times like that. But without the flickering...

i believe my expert diagnosis is... its borked

Another one bites the dust...

Q: wmiprvse.exe does a lot of disk seeking activity once every day

osgxHi wmiprvse.exe process does a lot of disk activity, working with all files in system32 directory (according to filemon). Any other process which wants to do smth with disk is very slow while wmiprvse.exe scans system32. Such scans are every day and long up to tens minutes. What does wmiprvse.e...

I believe that on each query from HPWA his slower/bad 5400 RPM disk causes more I/O problems instead of CPU problems, but I can be wrong.
But he should check out the other question first to see if he runs HPWA, or provide more information about his system.

How's things @Wil?

Wil
Not good... Trying to learn MVC still and I just feel like an idiot as I just can't understand a few things
I even asked a question on SO, which had an answer that sort of makes sense - but I still don't get it!
how are you!?

Dreading going back to work tomorrow... but otherwise well.

Wil
@Mokubai hah! Sometimes I wish I had a regular job... work every day! but, hope it goes ok for you!

7:03 PM
How is the consulting/freelance business these days?

Wil
well, sucks for me - but I can't get a regular job as no one takes self employment in to consideration... so, I have been trying to do programming recently
