@WasthereeveranElisha? Aaand deleted. Of course. :P

6:13 PM
@El'endiaStarman Should I flag this for deletion? It answers the question, but pretty poorly. christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/16999/…

@fredsbend I'd say it's Not An Answer. Question specifically asks for Christian Universalism and answer is a rant.

@El'endiaStarman I just flagged it then. Good point. It's still kind of early here.

@TRiG Yes, the conflation of Protestant, Non-denominational Christianity and Right sided American politics baffles, intrigues, and scares me all at the same time.

7:06 PM
@TRiG That hints on the scary part. They feel some sort of duty to the country, but very little duty to the love that Christianity preaches (or should preach, anyway).
These are the same people that praise a young man for heading off to that immoral war in Iraq or Afghanistan, but don't really want to talk to you about helping at the soup kitchen.
America is their God. Or rather, some crazy warped idea of America is their God.
It's just scary what might happen.

@fredsbend I have strong feelings of disgust about American foreign policy, but I'm also uncomfortably aware that I don't really know enough about it, so I try not to say much. (I tend not to trust my feelings on political matters.)

9:04 PM
@TRiG A sound approach for any socio-political topic.

@TRiG Regarding immigration policy specifically, Americans are in a rather unique position in that this argument can be used against those who would rather keep the Mexicans (and others) out.

11:30 PM
@El'endiaStarman I'm not sure the argument actually compares. One covers many generations and several different peoples. The other is one generation and one people.
