@Undo why is this invalidated?

ugh, I need to put some better visibility on who invalidated stuff. Just a sec.

It is still on the site, no downvotes and answers the question
I marked it as fp

That's @ArtOfCode. It kinda looks spammy at first glance, but it might not actually be

btw I use this link to navigate to any posts I've given feedback on, I use it as the link into the MS
dashboard
it's not, I went to the site and it gives details about the obama care thing
which is what the question is asking
It does appear spammy at first glance

Yeah, looks like a reasonably legit site
Just a sec
There, should be fixed up @Yvette

2:00 AM
@Undo thanks
I am obsessive so check my feedback to see f it's invalidated and why, that way I improve.

Some tpu's were invalidated by Art, even though the post is gone and the flags were upheld.

@BrockAdams hm what should we do with @Art? runs for pitchfork

@BrockAdams links?

@Undo Here's one, and several of the OP's comments were successfully flagged. IIRC, he was raging out at the time.

Ehhh, less sure on that one

2:06 AM
I think that's unacceptable discourse

He was trolling, very offensive and at least 5 of his comments were the same. And, that's just the ones I flagged.

I'm going to leave that one to @ArtOfCode

@Yvette Yes, and very deliberately so in that case.

@BrockAdams I really don't like it when people carry on like that on the site.

@Undo IMO, if the community and/or a site mod agrees with a flag, that should be the last word, barring very rare circumstances.

2:10 AM
Yeah, I'm torn on it
On one hand, there's a seed of a question in there. Its sole purpose doesn't appear to be to offend; he seems to be asking a real question
On the other, it got nuked and apparently there were comments involved that I can't see

Are we talking about that Mithlesh user now?

I see
I think the offensive part should just be edited out. But if he has posted other content offensive, yup, he should be nuked.

yes I agree and @Brock is experienced and level headed with these things (please pay me later Brock)

@Yvette Thanks, but I think you have me confused with someone else. ;)
I have been called "flat headed" though...

K?
fonepaw

fonepaw sounds familiar somehow

sd k

Yeh it's been pushed from iirc

2:17 AM
Does anyone know why I had an invalidated feedback on this? I had marked as tp- as the OP edited to include offensive content. Plus I had also tp-'ed from SOCVR and that was not invalidated. Only my tp- from here was

@AshishAhujaツ probably Art on an invalidation feeding frenzy :D

@AshishAhujaツ Double feedback there, just a sec

@hichris123's invalidation, not sure why

I think I need to change my mood, I am making very poor jokes this morning

2:19 AM
I'm just going to destroy that second feedback @AshishAhujaツ
But in the future, don't double-feedback. It's not really useful

@Undo alright.

Suspect that's what got you the invalidation

@Undo fine. I just did so because no one had feedbacked in SOCVR.

hm I sometimes feedback in here and then will give feedback in socvr when it's a complicated post or no one is acting
to help give a push to flag or to help stop people flagging in haste
so I don't think invalidating it is good for us, if we are acting in good faith
2

Might be sane to just ignore consecutive identical feedback from the same user at the metasmoke level

2:23 AM
@Undo Yeah, I did that because I literally didn't see another reason for the feedback. So it made it appear that more than one user thought it was a tp but that wasn't true.

Restart: API quota is 9081.

@hichris123 Sane. What do you think of ignoring identical feedback from the same user?

I guess that works.

Of course, we'd have to identify it; usernames would probably be enough
@hichris123 k, I'm going to just do it
Don't see what it could hurt

I'm still concerned though: a) people are caring about numbers, and b) the ignoring feedback thing makes people care about numbers.

2:25 AM
Yeah, I'm starting to feel that too

@hichris123 Human nature, not everyone is motivated the same. They're still useful though -- if you don't spoil the game too much. :)

BTW, when are going to integrate SpamRam with sd?

Yeah, but this is literally the most boring thing ever -- dealing with spam. If a person cares about their numbers with that...

That's just how they're wired. Different strokes...

@hichris123 Numbers on the mod dashboard are a pretty good motivator for me

2:28 AM
@AshishAhujaツ Probably never? Or at least a long time from now, SE doesn't have much time to deal with things like this.

@AshishAhujaツ We can't really do that.

@Undo Yeah, although I guess we have the main site flag history for that.

Okay. Just thought that this was currently happening

Nope

the thing about the numbers is people are naturally nervous, they don't want to be kicked from smokey. The other issue is, providing reliable and consistent feedback, the other issue is, not being misunderstood on motives. If I give double feedback, it's because no one else has in socvr and for the reasons I said above or I disagree with the feedback given in socvr. So the feedback on socvr for me it to actually communicate with the members of that room more so than provde feedback for MS

2:38 AM
@Yvette This makes sense; working on a change to just ignore it at the MS level

You need to understand why people are concerned about the numbers. From my personal viewpoint, I'm a perfectionist and want to give 100% accurate feedback, so I concern myself with improving my accuracy. For others there may be other reasons as well.
@Undo Yes I agree, as the easiest way to convey to other room members it to reply to the report. Sometimes I will see a user leave a comment, indicating it's spam, and I know from in here it's not, so I will sd f the report in socvr and then comment to stop a potential pile on of flags, and also the opposite case can be true, but is not so urgent
the sd f will remove the report, so prevents quick access to the post
If all that makes sense?

@Yvette Yeah, that's one reason I don't like the "ignore feedback if %" part. But you don't have to always give feedback in here -- if you don't, someone else either will, or no one will.

eventually someone will just snipe it from review

Yeah thays true, but I'm more saying if there's feedback from the SOCVR only, that's okay.

2:43 AM
@hichris123 well usually I give feedback here and then my attention will be drawn to socvr, I'm not always in there. And then I will actively seek out the room and reply. It's the system I have. This room is always in an open tab for me.

@SmokeDetector k

sd k

2:44 AM
yep, working

@SmokeDetector k

@Undo User removed from blacklist (46 on softwarerecs.stackexchange.com).

@SmokeDetector f

So now double feedback by same user is now not counted right?

2:45 AM
@AshishAhujaツ right

@Yvette But I don't understand that part. You should be concerned about whether your flags were declined, not as to whether feedback was invalidated.

yep so I got one feedback then
@hichris123 because if I'm doing it wrong the only way I will know if with invalidated feedback
for a while there I had the whole thing wrong and didn't realise
and for instance the meta post

@Yvette Why not leave it to someone else then? Multiple opinions is always good.

@hichris123 I thought I was doing the right thing
If I am unsure I don't give feedback
If you think I'm in the room too much I can limit it

Heck no, don't do that

2:47 AM
That's not what I'm saying. Just that you don't have to expect that you need to do everything.

No I enjoy it
it's therapuetic. I work and study from home and it's like a very good brain diversion, it distracts me enough to give my brain a reboost when concentrating. If that makes sense? Otherwise I get bored and tired from focusing on the one thing.

But you don't have to think "I need to give feedback in the CVR". If you don't, it literally doesn't matter.

I love it
and I'm in here for hours alone often and it's nice
I only stop and chat when I'm having a break
and it's purposeful, we're cleaning up the place
Well you guys do the hard work, I give feedback.
Plus I'm in a diff time zone and I notice spam oclock starts in my afternoon
anyway I will take my kooky likes and get back to work :D

Yeah, that's fine. But remember, this is just a side project. It's not anything that you have to do, nor is it something that you should expect to get praise out of. It's moderation, like everything else.

gotcha ;)
sigh was so hoping for the gold trophiez
:D
