^ What do you guys think?
(that's it so far)

@hichris123 add more space between "how it works" and the photos IMHO

@AnnonomusPenguin Yeah, I'll do that.

Also, consider cropping the center image so it looks like it's like a window into the scenery
Oooh! better idea:

@AnnonomusPenguin Or... maybe changing the opacity?

Make it appear in the top right corner like you're wearing Glass with less opacity!
(But smaller)
What do you think about that idea?
@hichris ^
@hichris ^^^

1:19 AM
@hichris123 What's with the other "image" in the middle? Looks really weird..

@Seth pretending to be like a photo being taken
That's why I said make it kinda transparent and put it in the top right corner so it looks like you're actually using it

@AnnonomusPenguin huh.
interesting.

Personally, I think it just looks out of place.
It's a neat idea though.
What if you did a more grey background with the glass image centered in that?
Doesn't have to be grey.

@hichris123 that's what I was getting at with the cropping: when you're wearing it, I'd imagine that it isn't a 100% copy of your actual vision.
I also am no Glass expert :P
Need to concentrate, going to leave here

1:33 AM
@hichris starting to make progress with the PHP thing I was talking about yesterday!

@Seth You mean instead of the image? Hmm...
Trying to decide.

1:53 AM
@hichris123 yeah, if you wanted to keep the little glass "window".
or perhaps you could center it more and give it a slightly different border.
That might work.

@Seth Yeah, I do want to center it more.
Also, I changed the opacity to 0.8.

2:24 AM
@hichris how does it look?

@AnnonomusPenguin Pretty good, actually. Haven't put it in the corner yet, still thinking about that.

2:57 AM
I need to center it better, but what do you think @Annon?

@hichris123 can you blur the background?

@Undo How much?

Play with it.
Quite a bit, IMO
And I would leave the middle box sharp.
If you can

ok.

3:14 AM
@hichris123 I didn't realize this at the time, but any way you could just make a transparent box instead of putting the image inside again?
That would make it look a lot better.
I like the overall idea you are trying to achieve though.

3:26 AM
@Seth I'm trying to achieve the look of Glass, and that's how it would look. For reference, this is a picture taken from Glass:

No, I know how it would look.
But I think putting the picture inside that same picture looks pretty bad.
perhaps it's just me though.

Gah, I went to the trouble of looking for it.
;P

looking for?

Maybe so, @Seth. I'm not sure.
Yeah, I'm on a tablet.

Try making it transparent and letting the original image show through.
Just try it.
It might look awesome, despite not being quite what you would see.

That's a reminder for @Undo to fix Blaze.

Hey everyone...

Hey @André!

It's been a while. Did I miss anything important ?

The mobile site design and the community bulletin got redesigned.

Yeah I already saw that, I meant did anything important happen here in this chat room ? Did someone find a way to break this room again like last time ? Or some exciting Smokedetector updates ? :D

Undo is making an adjusted SmokeDetector for the Teachers' Lounge.
He added anti-aging spam to it, and that gave some false alerts, which were funny sometimes (like the message on the star board).

10:23 AM
I was thinking about creating a Smokedetector for the PHP tag, to quickly downvote and flag bad questions from people who just read a crap tutorial on some W3 schools website and complain that their deprecated mysql_query doesn't work.

That seems... hard to detect.

The presence of mysql_* functions and a spell checker should do the trick, usually these are two things that are always present in this type of low-quality question... the user just copy/pastes a lot of deprecated code and can't even describe his issue in proper english.
Of course it won't be perfect, but if it manages to get even 30% of those questions (without too much false positives obviously) that's still a good start.

Hmm... that could do the trick indeed. But anyway, I would say they should not be posted in here, because that would generate a lot of messages here.

Yeah I'll create a separate chat room obviously.
That's the kind of question I'm talking about (there is way worse btw) : stackoverflow.com/questions/24528737/… (look at the first revision, it got edited since then)
No code formatting which means the spell checker will see that as text and of course the check will fail completely, which is enough to report the post to the chat room.

Yeah, it seems a good idea to exclude code blocks, as stuff in there is always "misspelled" according to a spell checker.
Lunch time, see you!

10:33 AM
See you later. :)

11:05 AM
I'm back!

@ProgramFOX welcome back !

Is the curious badge new? I just got sevenish of then right now :/

yeah

@hichris123 Thanks! I was just... curious... about that badge :P

8:38 PM
Sigh. It's really disappointing when you work on a website for a couple months (well, not a lot a month, but still) and then, when you're almost done, you the exact thin you were looking for, plus a few features you were going to compliment later to set yourself apart.
